My social circle is mostly composed of PC gamers, and so I turn to this forum to see if the Xbox indie/arcade marketplace has any fans. I'm part of a fledgling video game studio in Quebec City, in Canada, and we're well under way on an indie title. All this prodding is not official company business (I'm an artist), just trying to take the pulse of a community that would be interested in our game (you build up a sword with different enhancements, it's a 2D sidescroller with 3D graphics). Thank you for your time, I hope that the gamers here answer in droves! (oh, and we have a development blog where we reply to questions concerning working in the industry, art and coding) ninedotsstudio.com/ |

I also enjoyed that studios previous effort "Breath of Death VII: The Beginning." I just beat "Breath of Death VII" and I played the "Cthulhu Saves the World" demo. While the mechanics are a little wonky they remain fun and the dialog is absolutely hilarious. At $1.25 each its a nice value for the money. That said I am actually developing my own game for Xbox Live Indie Games. It won't be out anytime soon, but it should be relatively fun. It has a number of interesting features:
Hopefully it'll be enough to get me a job in the industry or be able to support my career... |

I also played Dig Miner Dig (or something like that) and the endless dungeon one (where you just spam the buttons and when you die, it's over. I'm all about the Indie games - I wish you guys the best of luck! |

I also enjoyed that studios previous effort "Breath of Death VII: The Beginning." Interesting. That's a lot of programming, especially for things that a player may or may not ever see. That said, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor as I would greatly love to play that game. ![]() |
| #7lokiareApr 20, 2011 15:15:02 | Here's a video of it so far. I'm using free artwork available on the internet so it doesn't look awesome but it should be fun to play for $1.25-$2.50. |

| #9lokiareApr 22, 2011 9:54:56 | Hmm, doesn't look that bad for free artwork. Any idea when you'll finish it? i've mostly got the actual game engine programmed. I still gotta add some features: * Area changes - I've got it set up to use different levels, I just haven't added the actual changeout. * Storyline - I haven't got quests completely programmed in. I need to add NPC dialogues (I've got a few but I need to make more), I also don't have all the maps * Help/Tutorial - I don't have a help section in the menu or a beginner tutorial or help pop-ups. * Other features - there are other features I want to add, but don't know if I will. One is a puzzle manipulator where you move two hands on a screen like your looking at a puzzle FPS style and move, rotate, push, pull, and manipulate things. |
