at the start of the week me and my manager were chatting and he told me of a sale at our local EBGames: 160GB PS3 with God of War 3 & Killzone 2 for 300$ after taxes.
seeing as how my now ex-roommates had left GTA4 and some generic WW2 FPS as well as a spare controller from when they had temporarily bought a PS3 (then returned it after christmas), but forgot to return the games+controller, i now effectively have a 160GB PS3, 2 controllers & 4 games for 300$.
can't complain.
what i'm here for is a request: what games do you suggest i get?
my console preferences is usually 2D fighters (i've got SSF4 & MvsC3 on my personal wish list), RPGs (either of the western or japanese ones) & adventure games. something fun i can sit down to for an hour or two and just chill.
i'm not a fan of the FPS genre on a console. i don't know if it's because i'm far too used to the keyboard+mouse on my PC, but i just cannot do console PFS. Killzone & generic WW2 FPS will probably be trade-ins.
as for sports/racing games... well, i feel just as strong about virtual sports as i do with the real thing: highly forgettable and does not even register in my attention-o-meter. the only exception was probably mod nation racers and that's because i enjoyed the detailed custom character creator when i played it at a friend's.
so... any recommendations?
As for hour-killers, you might like LEGO Star Wars and/or Little Big Planet- both are very laid back yet surprisingly deep, with treasure hunts and replays that don't feel like a grind.
