Apparently he dropped his kid or something while having a verbal altercation with his ol' lady. So they called in Child Services. I'm surprised it took them this long to do it. I mean, he named the lad 'Kal El'. ;)

Yeah, I wouldn't call it abuse. Endangerment, though, is pretty much exactly what it was. He was annihilated and fighting with his wife. So drunk he didn't even know where he was and thought she was gonna kill him for some reason. So yeah, endangerment maybe.

Neglect, maybe. Drunk parents have been handling and dropping their children since the advent of alcohol. It doesn't make it right, but it doesn't necessarily make it wrong, either. But unless they are going to start enforcing this across the board, this is a non-story and they are essentially nitpicking.

By the way, sober parents have dropped their children as well. We may as well include them. It's probably best to just put a complete ban on picking up your child.

I'm not saying that Encage doesn't have major issues or that he isn't a douchebag, just that this is really nothing more than piling on.

If holding his hand or holding him up is that important, don't get blasted. Duh. And Nick Cage obviously doesn't care about the kid anyway. Nobody that did would name a kid that.

I don't even consider that kind of thing fun and games in college. Getting hammered like that is a problem that should be addressed regardless.
