"I'm living in a [expletive] small town full of people that hate me over here and, you know, I'm trying to [expletive]; I'm trying to [expletive] work my way up into a fight and now I'm the most disrespectful piece of [expletive] person that walks the earth and I deserve to have my [expletive] beat, that I deserve to have the [expletive] beat out of me and I'm just this disgusting person."

Dude, you didn't quote the best part of the article: soccer mom hatin'
Speaking directly to St-Pierre, Diaz said, "Check it out [expletive], I pulled up to a stop light the other day and some [expletive] 40-year-old lady, some soccer mom, sticks her head out the window and she's like, 'I hope GSP beats your [expletive].' We're in [expletive] Lodi, [Calif.] [expletive]. I'm like, 'Are you serious?' We are in the bull's-eye right now. You hope to beat my [expletive]? That's [expletive] wonderful.

Then there is Gracies excuse for the ramblings of Diaz who was probably high. Seriously, you want to be respected, you have to earn that respect. Acting like an ass isn't going to help.

I saw this article about Diaz punching a speed bag for 23 minutes. If only GSP moved like a speed bag1, Diaz may have a chance.

That is, stand in front of Nick and not move at all or fight back

Yeah, if they have a problem with Nick's image they need to talk to Nick.  He did have a point about the flight, though.  Diaz is gonna help make them a ton of money.  There's no reason for a coach seat.

Well, Dana could just be getting back at him. I mean, he will be making them a lot of money when the fight happens, but how much money did he cost them when he didn't show up to the previous press conferences, and when he got suspended for being a pot-head? Dana probably thought that it wasn't worth the price of the ticket for a guy that may not show up.

Besides, if Nick and Gracie have such a problem with Nick flying in coach, they can pony up the money for a first class ticket. I'm sure Cesar Gracie has made a good amount off of his fighters. He can afford to pay for Nick's ticket.

Dood, that ain't going to happen.

GSP is the champ for a reason.

And Diaz's fighting style is totally countered by GSP's.

I mean really it's Walk up with your chin stuck out, and arms down, talk trash and get your ass beat.

HS, does he not have a sparing partner? jeeze. Even fighting a bag, like that it looks like the bag stood a fair chance of winning, didn't even hold his off hand ready as a guard during that vid either. He should totally just practice his unique style of walk up chin out arms wide.

Also just found out that my company is going to start doing quarterly urine tests.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'll be fine by the time next quarter rolls around. However, my co-worker, who has to drop a urine tomorrow, is sweating bullets right now.

Meh, scheduled is nothin'.  We have to submit to randoms (and yes, I have been pulled).  I mean, that's no problem for me since I gave all that stuff up a long time ago (aside from the fact that I find the practice invasive, demeaning and insulting) but it's still lame.

Yeah, I'm not sweating it yet as my name can't be called until next quarter, but I'm a heavy smoker.
And I know several ways to beat a urine test, none of which are comfortable.
I may need to stop entirely.

But what really sucks is that my buddy has to drop tomorrow... and I don't think he's going to make the cut unless he takes measures... none of which, as I said before, is comfortable.

Impossible. The Diaz brothers only know how to go forward in a straight line. Nick will walk straight into the take down and spend the entire fight on his back getting punched.

GSP will probably hit Diaz with his shoulder, as he has done to everyone else whenever he gets in someone's guard and can't punch or elbow them. GSP is just too much for Diaz. Diaz might have amazing endurance, but he isn't active enough. GSP is constantly moving, constantly striking. It's the reason he doesn't get stood up when he takes people down and holds them there.

Yeah, Diaz won't be able to get up when GSP plants his ass on the mat - and he will, too.  Nick's got some BJJ but so does GSP.  This'll probably end up another grind but who cares?  Diaz will probably look like hamburger when it's over.  Remember Fitch?  Hell, GSP liked Fitch.

I'm sure they gave him some type of steroid medication during the time he was recuperating. GSP doesn't seem like the type of guy that would be using to get an edge on his competition. He also hasn't had a roid-rage episode. He seems too calm for that kind of thing.

Yeah, pretty much. It'll be GSP taking Diaz down and turning his face into something resembling JDS after his fight with Cain.

Hopefully after GSP thoroughly trounces Diaz, Dana hands Diaz over to Rory McDonald. That would be awesome to watch.

I wonder if Diaz will even remember his name, or anything for that matter once GSP is done with him.

Bro, he's nearly exploded talking to Nick a couple of times now.  There's articles out there that focus on how GSP is a totally different cat right now.  You think that's only cuz Nick is so good at pushin' his buttons?

Honestly, I doubt he's a juicer.  His physique does give me pause, though.  He's either a genetic freak or a roider.  Still, I don't think he juices.  Didn't think he greased, either.  But who knows?  I mean, Mark McGuire broke all of our hearts.

He probably lost his nut from doping.  And he was a jerk but nobody (other than the peeps that knew) suspected him of doping.  People wrote tons of articles explaining why he wasn't a doper.  Talkin' 'bout all his passed tests and the peeps that had an axe to gind bein' the ones what accused him.  Turns out he was a doper even though he fooled most people.

When you have as much money as GSP, you can hire a group of people that know how to get you into the best shape. I read an article where GSP was talking about his weight cuts. The guy cuts about 20 lbs to meet weight. After weigh-ins, he gets some prteing shake and rehydrates. He gets high protein, high calorie stuff and gets back up to his weight by fight night (3 nights after weigh-ins). GSP steps into the ring between 190-200 lbs.

Hendricks won, and both he and Condit got $50,000.00 for fight of the night. I think GSP may finally get someone that can challenge him. Hendricks has some good wrestling. He took Condit down throughout the fight. Unfortunately, Hendricks wasn't able to do much once he got Condit down. Condit kept on striking from the bottom. It was a close fight, but I think Codit did a bit more. Hendricks mainly took him down and tried to hold him.
Hendricks also looked like he gassed out after the second round. He may want to get in better shape for the GSP fight. If three rounds is wearing him out like that, he is going to be dead by round five. Hell, he will probably be dead by the end of round three. That'll give GSP the advantage.

As for the GSP VS Diaz fight, as expected, RH was disapointed.

For his next fight, Nick is going to take on Uncle Sam.

I didn't get to see the prelims. I was at my university until 10:00 pm... on a Saturday. I missed most of the card. I got to the sports bar I saw the fight at just after the fight before the Marquart fight ended.
I was glad to see Marquardt lost, heh.

Yeah, you could just tell someone was getting knocked out in that fight. Ellenburger looked like he was on the hunt. He was just walking Marqurt down. Ellenburger just looked way too confident. You knew he was going to win it. He didn't seem afraid of anything Marquart had to offer.
And yeah, GSP will have his hands full with Hendricks.  dood is tough.  But yeah, if he's got cardio issues that will be a problem.

Yup. I think the thing that let Hendricks win the Condit fight was his wrestling. He wasn'tr afraid of getting in close. In fact, he needed to get in there close to have a chance against Condit. Condit had a huge reach advantage. He also got Hendricks with a few good shots. I couldn't have seen that fight go either way. Condit did a lot more when he was taken down. He hit Hendricks, and neutralized Hendricks's ground and pound.Still, I understand why the judges gave it to Hendricks. He took Condit down often.

As for his fight with GSP, yeah, Hendricks needs to work on his Cardio. GSP has some crazy wrestling. He has taken on top level wrestlers and beat them. He has taken top level jitsu BJJ guys and made them look like children. And GSP has underrated striking. He is quick and ellusive when he hits. After the fight was over, while they were still in te ring, Diaz told Rogan that GSP kept hitting him with the superman punch and Diaz's timing kept on getting thrown off. Diaz wasn't able to do much with his striking. He was supposed to have this amazing boxing. I read somewhere Diaz threw around 41 significant strikes while GSP threw around 120 or something like that.

I also read an article where someone (I forget who) said that while Hendricks has a great amateur wrestling background, that doesn't mean its going to translate well in MMA. There are only a few wrestling moves that are actually usable and productive in MMA. So while GSP is going to have a challenge with Hendricks, Hendricks is going to have a hell of a time trying to beat GSP. Hell, GSP ruined Koscheck's eye and completely dominated the wrestling game. Hendricks fought Koscheck to a descision.
So what's next?  Rory and Nick?  Rory and Condit (again)?  Condit and Nick (again)?  I wanna see Rory and Nick.  That'd be awesome.

I really hope so. Rory would give Nick the beating everyone wants Diaz to get. It would be awesome. Hell, Rory made Nate look like the idiot he is. Nate got slam after slam after slam. zzhe had nothing to offer in that fight.

You didn't miss much.  Just a bad stoppage and a couple of ok fights - with a bad decision.  As much as Cote wanted it and as much as I like the dood he shouldn't have got the win.  He dominated early and then faded.  The other dood wobbled him a few times in the second and third, too.  Still, it wasn't a bad fight to watch.

I didn't think Marquardt had much of a chance considering how badly Saffedine beat him down in his last Strikeforce fight.  I mean, Saffedine kicked his ass.  I bet Nate's leg was still all busted up on Saturday - that's how bad that no-name beat him up.

Yeah, GSP is on another level when it comes to MMA wrestling.  As he said, he decides where the fight takes place.  There's no one else in the UFC that can truly make that call against any style.  He takes strikers down and keeps wrestlers on their feet.  And yeah, his stand up is pretty good when he wants it to be.  He destroyed Fitch's face (among others).

Both Diaz brothers get all sorts of props for their uber awesome boxing.  All it ever looked like to me was half power sparring 'punches'.  I guess the idea is that they add up or something - probably eventually boring your opponent into a coma.  Never thought they were that great.  What they've got more than most is talk ... and heart.  You can't deny they have real heart.  They whine alot but they don't quit.  I wish they would, but, you know.

I really hope so. Rory would give Nick the beating everyone wants Diaz to get. It would be awesome. Hell, Rory made Nate look like the idiot he is. Nate got slam after slam after slam. zzhe had nothing to offer in that fight.

Yup, he got rag dolled for the whole thing.  I'd like to see the same thing happen to Nick.

Yeah, that's what I heard. Oh well, no big loss. At least I got there in time to see the fights I really wanted to see. That and have some beers.

I missed that fight. Strikeforce didn't really have much to interest me. Even that last Cormier fight was lame. Hell, cormier looked fat and out of shape. He had a hard time with a no-name fighter. I honestly don't see him being able to make weight to fight Jones. He is going to have to lose way too much weight and keep it off.

Yeah, it almost seems like we've heard this before. Everyone that has a wrestling background is seen as the the guy to challenge and beat GSP. I just don't think that SP gets the credit that he deserve. That guy seriously controls the fight from start to finish. After the loss to Sera, he came back and was more cautious, but that has worked for him. He hasn't been in a bad position. The only guy who got close was Condit, and just a few seconds after Condit took GSP down with the kick and started to look as if he was going to win, GSP reversed him and ended up on top landing strikes.

I think what Hendricks has is that he can take a hit as he walks in. Still, I think GSP will out work Hendricks and wear him out like he does everyone else. Also, GSP will probably be keep Hendricks at a distance. GSP has a 76 inch reach while Hendricks has a 69 inch reach.

Yeah, they don't really have good boxing. They look more like they are thug-boxing instead of the high level boxing everyone credits them with. They have heart, but that's only because they lack brains. If they would jjust get some other strategy other than walk in a straih line, talk trash, thrown punches, block punches with face, they may do better.

Yeah, they weren't anything special.  I had high hopes for the first fight (Cruikshank vs some other karate type dood) but they were too cautious for most of it.  No really cool kicks or nothin'.  Kinda lame.

That fight was pretty good - if you like watching Marquardt get completely outclassed for 25 mins (I think it was for the title).  His leg was deeeeeee-stroyed.  Couldn't check a leg kick to save his life.  Couldn't take Saffedine down, either.  I think he wanted to stand but got too beat up.  By the time he realized he needed to take it to the mat he was too gimped up to have a prayer of making it happen.

And yeah, that last Cormier fight was awful.  So, so bad.  And he thinks he can beat Jones?  Hell, he was fat in that fight and it was at HW.  A cut to 205 may kill him.  It'll certainly put every local fast food joint out of business.

I don't get it.  His wrestling MMA is the best.  It's obvious but people still don't seem to totally respect it.

I think Hendricks has a shot mostly cuz he's not dumb and he's got huge power.  He can end anyone's day with one shot.  So yeah, GSP will probably grind his ass out.

Yup.  And they're Gracie black belts who wanna knock people out.  Why?  If your BJJ is so good, use it.  They're like Gurgel like that.  dood had amazing BJJ but wanted to stand and bang with everyone.  Stupid.  That's why GSP keeps winning.  He doesn't have some set way he wants to win, he fights the way that gives him the best chance to make it happen.  I mean, I totally believe he could have beaten Hardy standing.  But why tempt it?  dood has massive power and no wrestling.  Take him down, grind it out.  A Diaz bro would try to fight him standing up.  It's just retarded.

I've alays wondered why so many fighters don't use the leg kick more often. It is such an effective strike. You take out a fighter's leg and he can't shoot for take downs effectively, can't defend them, and can't defend the take down, and they can't throw powerful strikes. And why don't more fighter's check those leg kicks? Look at what Shogun did to Machida. He hit him with leg kicks until Machida lost his ability to jump in and out.

Yeah, that guy looked as if he got out of the buffet line to go fight. Forget fighting Jones. Cormier's biggest challenge is fighting the urge to gorge himself on food.

Yeah, GSP is going to do whatever GSP wants to do. Pretty much what he does every fight. Hendricks better work on his cardio if he wants to have a chance. GSP will probably ground and pound for the fisrt three rounds. He may wait until round four or five and then start the striking game. By that point Hendriks may be so worn out, he isn't going to put up much of a fight. Hopefully he trains for those championship rounds. If he doesn't, he is in for a rough fight... and a beting like everyone else GSP has fought.

Cesar Gracie doesn't much care as long as he gets paid. If you listen to his advice during the fight it's terrible. He just keps telling his fighters they are doing great and they are winning and the other guy is tired, when in actuallity the other guy has won ever single round.

Yup.  He needs to train cardio and takedown D.  Hard.  If he can keep on his feet it might not make it to the 4th.  GSP is tough but he has been KOd and wobbled.  Hendricks has the power to make that a real concern - if he can stay on his feet.

True.  I've heard him telling doods that when it's obvious they were getting destroyed.  Thing is, the whole corner seems to always think their dood is winning no matter what.  Overconfident.

Yup, most of them are just afraid to be taken down. That just limits them severely.
That and, you know, he didn't look good at all.  Like, he's supposed to be this dominant force or something.  I didn't see it.

Didn't see it, like at all. It was sad. I watched that fight, and I was wondering what the hell happened to Josh Barnet? If Cormier beat him so handedly, why couldn't Cormier beat the no name he was fighting? I think he better get himself in shape and train for Frank Mir. If he fights like that with Mir, Mir is taking Cormir's arm home (and career) with him.

Yeah, much easier said than done. Let's see if Hendricks can stop the take down. I don't know if he is going to have enough time to get his cardio up enough to last 4 or 5 rounds with GSP. He may not need to, but he better train for it in case.

Either overconfident or just really bad at being a coach. Seriously, Cesar Gracie came out saying that Nick was in the best shape of his life, and that he was super motivated and ready to go out there nd put o a fight and win. After the fight Nick admitted he wasn't in the best shape. Why do these guys keep training with the Cesar Gracie camp? It's obvious that he can't get them above mid-tier fighter abilities. Jake shields got beat. Nate got beat. Nick got beat. The only one left is Gilbert Melendez, and Benson Henderson is going to violate him the same way he did Nate.

Mir is kinda teh suk now, though.  If Cormier can punch Mir in his face, oh, twice he should be ok.    Srsly, though, Cormier didn't look anything close to the same level as Mir.

Yeah, he's got an uphill battle but he can win it.  He's definitely got a better shot than Diaz did.  I just read an article that said Condit outclassed him standing, though.  If that's true, he's in trouble.  He needs to be better than Condit standing to take GSP out ... if he can stay up.

Yeah, that camp isn't very good.  I mean, look at the personalities for a reason.  The fighters have no class.  They're allowed to behave that way.  It's like all they do it pat the fighters on the head and say 'you're awesome, bro' and then everyone believes their own hype.  I bet Nate would be good if he was in a different camp.  I think he's actually got talent.  He just doesn't know how to apply it and, well, he's got the Diaz disadvantage: fighting stupid makes you a real man.

I know Mir hasn't been good in a while. A few punches to the face and he crumbles. However, Cormir didn't look like he could do even that in his last fight. It's going to be the battle of has-been VS never-was.

To be fair, Hendricks did break his hand early on in the fight. Still, Hendricks didn't do much once he took Condit down. Condit was always active, hitting Hendricks with everything while Condit was on his back. Hendricks held him down for a bit, but Condit popped right back up.Besides, everyone knew that Condit was the more technical striker of the two.

Yeah, Nate would probably be the one guy in that camp that could make something of himself if he got with a good team. As it is, Cesar Gracie's camp is only good for Cesar Gracie's bank account. He will keep stringing them along until they are no longer viable cash cows.

Yup, not good.  Cormier didn't impress in any way.  I wouldn't be surprised if Mir knocked him out.

Yeah and that's what makes me think GSP can handle him.  If he handled Condit he shouldn't have too much trouble with a less capable striker.  Still, one shot ...

Yeah, Nate would probably be the one guy in that camp that could make something of himself if he got with a good team. As it is, Cesar Gracie's camp is only good for Cesar Gracie's bank account. He will keep stringing them along until they are no longer viable cash cows.

The problem with relying on one-hit KO power is that you still have to land that one shot. GSP strikes me as the type of fighter what doesn't let that happen too often.

Interestingly enough I recently read an article that touched on that.  Specifically, they say that after his knee injury he seems to get hit a lot more often.  Basically he's like Machida that way.  For whatever reason the juke is gone.  That can be a real problem.  GSP's wrestling is amazing, though, so he's still got one way to avoid damage - if he gets the other dood down and keeps him there.  So far it doesn't appear he's lost that.

He had surgery to repair a busted ACL. It takes tim. The longer he goes without re-injury, the stronger it will get. He was still able to go in and out against Diaz. He kept throwing that superman punch, which Nick admitted that it threw his timing off. That's why Nick couldn't get an offense going. He is known to thrown volume punches, but I don't think he threw more than one of two at a time.

Yeah, I suppose there's that.  I haven't actually seen a recent GSP fight, unfortunately, so I have to rely on what I read.  That said, they did mention him getting hit more against Condit.  Well, Condit is better than anyone GSP has fought so that makes sense.

Yeah, Condit is the best striker GSP has faced. The guy is very technical. He is also a very smart fighter that, unlike most of his other oppenents, has a good game plan going in.
That said, the Condit fight was the very first fight GSP had after his ACL surgery. His movement was much better agaisnt Diaz. I'm sure it'll be much better agaisnt Hendricks. During the Diaz fight, it was obvious Nick wasn't at GSP's level. GSP went in and ot at hit Diaz whenever he wanted.

The thing Hendricks has going for him is he isn't afraid of getting hit when he goes it for takedowns. He showed that against Condit. Hendricks was able to take Condit down at will, but he ate punches all the way in, down, and after they were down. Condit did a lot more once they where on the ground than Hendricks. It's just Hendricks ability to get Condit down that won him the fight.

But would Hendricks take GSP down?  That could either be the perfect strategy (basically pull a GSP) or the worst (get stuffed or swept and subbed).  I figure Hendricks will want GSP on his feet so he can try and put his fist through his skull.  Dunno, though.  All I know is it should be a good fight.

Hendricks isn't bad, but he just didn't seem to do much against Koscheck. Don't get me wron, he won that fight, but it could have gone either way. Neither seemed to have the upper hand for any significat part of the fight.

The question is whether or not Hendricks' wrestling is up to par with GSP's, and if GSP can game plan Hendricks. I'm not sure about the wrestling, but I'm sure GSP and his training camp can come up with a winning game plan against Hendricks.

Interestingly enough, GSP seems to have fought Diaz injured. That may have been the reason he wasn't moving as well as he ususally does.

Hendricks may start whinning, but whatever. If GSP is hurt, he is hurt. Fighters get hurt all the time. Hendricks should be glad that GSP didn't postpone the Diaz fight because of his injury. Then Hendricks would have had to wait 6 months for GSP to heal up and start training for Diaz, fight Diaz, take time off, then fight Hendricks. Besides, Hendricks injured his hand. And waiting 6 months gives him time to work on his cardio because he is definitely going to need it.

This also means that if for some insane reason, Diaz is given a rematch against a healed up GSP, he'd have even less of a chance to beat GSP.

Oh yeah, forgot about Hendricks' hand.  He won't whine.  I ... I kinda wanna see a rematch against a fully healed GSP.  Won't happen, of course.  Nick was too pathetic and I'm pretty sure GSP is done with him.  The way he talked about it afterwards makes me think he never wants to go through that sort of fight hype again.  If Hendricks' camp is smart they'll hammer GSP the way Diaz did.  They won't, though, cuz they seem non-thug enough but it'd probably help.  GSP really, really didn't like it.

"Jake said he had an issue with his wraps. Maybe something was wrong with his wraps, I don’t know. I ain’t gonna accuse him of anything. I did get hit with one shot that didn’t feel like it was hard, it still opened a cut on my head.”

Except, you know, using shady wraps.    Diaz is such a bag of derp.  I love how he said GSP is a wrestler so he shouldn't be able to hurt anyone.  Did he miss the carnage GSP brought to Fitch and Kos or something?  What an idiot.

Except it's Nick and the Gracie camp we are talking about here. They can't seem to ever stop talking.

Well, Nick is the same guy that said he wasn't going to make any excuses for losing right before he rattled off a laundry list of excuses for losing.

Trying to piss GSP off enough for a rematch?  Win or lose that's a crapton of cash.

It's no wonder soccer moms hate him.

Yeah, I don't see Dana offering him a rematch with GSP any time soon. He got demolished by an injured GSP. Everyone saw him come up short. Hell, at least the fist Sonnen VS Silva fight showed that Sonnen can fight. He took it to Silva and just got caughht. That deserved a rematch. Nick did nothing the entire fight besides talk trash and take a swing after the bell.

Yep, that's why I wonder if they're trying to get GSP to demand one.  Get him mad enough and he'll maybe skip Hendricks again.  I doubt it but they're kinda dumb.

Yeah, not going to happen. Even if Diaz and his camp did manage to lure GSP into taking a rematch, Dana wouldn't let it. It wouldn't make anywhere near the amount of money the first fight made. The only people who would want to see that fight are the Diaz fanboys, and they're mostly broke pot-heads. Not enough of an audience to be made.

Hendricks, on the other hand, is being tauted as the best challenger to GSP's belt. He has one punch knockout power, and good wrestling. At this point, GSP VS Hendricks will make way more than a Diaz rematch.

Agreed.  So Nick should just shut up.  He won't but he should.  Time for Rory!

That would be awesome if they fed Nick to Rory. It would be a hell of a beat down.

He'll probably cry about Rory's wraps, too.

I don't think he'd have any tears left after the fight.

His eyes would probably be too swollen to allow any to escape anyway.
