well - other than - get another system.

So - I have the Wii - what I want is a good (non-childish/child-like) RPG for it. I looked over the top ten list and "Little King's Story" got the top rating, but it's too child-like for my tastes.  I had seen an ad for another (but forget the title).  So... I figured I'd ask the knowledgable people here.  What's a good title for me?  Suggestions?

Honestly? The Wii was targeted for kids. for more grown-up titles, you're going to be stuck to Zelda games, or needing a PS2/3 or XBox 360.

You could always use your PC for this purpose... If you like older games (PSX and back), you could always try emulation.

Yeah, we just got a Wii.  The games are fun, but it's not what I'd call a 'real' system.  For example, we were playing the new CoD at a friend's on his PS3.  My fiancee's son bought a copy for the Wii and wanted to show it to me.  The difference in graphics is ... vast.  I'm not bashin' the Wii, here.  It's just that it needs to be seen for what it is.  A game system for kids that has a twist adults also happen to enjoy.  I'm interested to see Sony and 'Crosoft get their motion stuff ready.  That should be pretty cool.

Yeah, Its unfortante that Nintendo can't get out of the "Games are 4 kids" mentality. Their system could do so much more if they really make it.

Besides, I'll always suggest PC for most games that come out on it. FPS and RPG games are great for PC as there is always so much more you can do than a console. Action games though, like Assassin's Creed, I'll suggest using a console for them.

NIS really needs to start putting out games for the Wii. Though it may be kiddy in appearance, NIS games have much deeper Adult undertones. (Or at least funny stuff that adults will get.)

there's this thing about preview that doesn't block sblocks from appearing.  It makes it a bit difficult to mask information that you'd rather not appear.  As a result, I'm including this little preamble as filler text (to appear in the preview), lest the information below is displayed to those for which it is not intended.  NOTE: this is a response to the video posted earlier, so if you chose not to see it, it may seem rather out of context.

adults only

Bah - at about 3', horses are overrated.  Compared to the 8' blue whale... (of course, it also produces about 400 GALLONS of ejaculate)

I talk about anything and everything.  The typical response - even from my closest friends - is usually pretty similar to yours.  I am not normal.

Madworld is pretty good as is the Metroid Prime Trilogy(second best deal in gaming behind the oragne box). There is a new Zelda and new Metroid lined up for next year.

Also a 360 is very much worth it.
I have only bought three games and have over 300 hours logged.
My games
Orange Box(okay this is 5 games in one but it still counts)
Mass Effect
Dragon Age

The Wii is not a real console or gaming station.

It's a weaksauce gimmick. Sales of it this year are sluggish for it because frankly the Fad is wearing off and Microsoft and Sony both have consoles at, or cheaper than the Wii's price. I suspect a very large portion of Wii sales came just because of the two other console price points.

That being said if you wanted to waste your money you could buy alot of Retro games on the Wii for far more than a Game Pack collection. *Such as the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection, Capcom classics etc*

I do know there is a Final Fantasy game coming out on the Wii, but frankly you've probably given up on that franchise like most rpg players. But then again it might actually be good, because Square can't do their usual Graphics > Story approach because the Wii is so heinously undergunned to do anything good looking. So it might be worth checking out.

I'd get a 360 myself. It's got a large quantity of GOOD to... ***** mother **** amazing Rpgs on it. Such as Mass Effect, Dragon Age (duh), Blue Dragon (it's good really if not a little tired), Last Remnant (it's actually alot better than the last few Final Fantasy games.), Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect 2 *coming soon. The first one is my favorite RPG of all time still. Though Dragonage has tied it* and quite a few others.

and if you want retro games there are alot of game collection packs out there too. All of which are a much better deal than the Wii with it's "virtual console" and then of course there is the Xbox Live Arcade library.

Good Wii games pretty much consist of Mad World, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Galaxy. Nintendo has continued the Games R 4 kidz mentality, much to their long term detriment and have continued their piss poor Third Party relations.

The best console is still the PS2 of course, as far as games go. But then again the 360 imo is in very good shape to take that particular crown I feel.

I know they have Metal Marines on the Wii virtual console. The game is an acquired taste though.

except - that's not where I got the figure from (never saw that picture - which is specifically what was addressed by snopes).  However, searching around I've seen estimates ranging from 40-400 gallons.

To drag this back semi on topic, IMO the 360 and PS3 are video game consoles while the Wii is a toy you happen to hook up to a television.

I kind of see it like this:

PS3

XBOX 360

Wii

Sure you can some have fun with it, but don't expect it to do much heavy lifting.
