More than likely they'll find a way bring back Peter Parker in Doc Ock's body and turn him into a villain. It'll probably end with goody-two-shoes Doc Ock "sacrificing himself" in order to switch back with Peter in order to save Peter and turn him into a good guy again. Doc Ock will then become a villain again, and everything will be back to normal. No big deal.

Spider-Man's public unmasking was supposedly pernament as well, not to be "magically retconned a year later"... And then that's exactly what happened, what with Mephisto's and Dr Strange's involvment
