| #4EscherEnigmaJul 07, 2011 17:39:13 | I'm confused. Just what basis is there to demand the ring returned? I mean, I was under the impression that such things were gifts. Should a person return an engagement ring if they turn down the proposal? Probably. But should they be required to? |
| #5mudbunnyJul 07, 2011 17:41:08 | There is legal precedent that an engagement ring is accepted upon the promise that you will marry the person giving the ring. Should you decide to not marry the person, you are to return the ring. |
| #6homicidal_squirrelJul 07, 2011 17:42:23 | She should have said it was lost in the mail along with the proposal message. |

Oh, the luxury of having such problems. |

Should you decide to not marry the person, you are to return the ring. Indeed. The courts view an engagement ring as a contract of sorts. The ring for your marriage. If you refuse the proposal or back out on it before the wedding, you must return the ring. If you get married and later get divorced, you are generally considered to have fulfilled your end of the bargain and you keep it. |

| #10zombie_babiesJul 08, 2011 13:08:59 | Umm ... if ya spend $76k on a ring, why not spend a few hundred more to fly to the girl you're givin' it to. That's actually probably why she said no. He didn't spend enough. Athletes have been givin' out million dollah rocks lately and she probaably wanted to get into that club. I don't mean to assume she's a gold digger but feel ok with doing it cuz of the fact that she tried to steal it. |

I mean, the lockout is gonna end ANY DAY NOW!!! so he needs to be ready to start training camp at a moment's notice. Ask Jharii, he'll tell you how pro sports clubs are... ![]() |

"Back in the day" if you didn't show up, your ass was all but gone. Now, the athletes have all the power. Minor leagues were WAY different than the show, too.Roy Williams is a scrub, though. He just got released. He's got nowhere else to be. :D |

You mean like Brett "I don't have to show up to training camp" Favre or Roger "I just wanna play the second half of the season but still be on the All-Star ballot" Clemens? |
