| #1Robin_HoodlumJun 23, 2011 22:20:26 | Yeah. I am not looking for a group to play D&D in the Pittsburgh area. If you don't want to play D&D, let's get together! (Will I get banned for "disruption" because of my frivolous thread?... Even though it is in jest?...We'll see...) |
| #2Robin_HoodlumJun 23, 2011 23:39:30 | Funny. Shame I'm in CA. A shame indeed. |
| #3pigknightJun 23, 2011 23:53:58 | Don't a ton of us OTTers have no group? Why don't we make a PbP? DM is nose goes! /nose |
| #4Robin_HoodlumJun 23, 2011 23:58:20 | Don't a ton of us OTTers have no group? I only understaned about 30% of what you posted... and it's still funny! ![]() Right? ![]() |
| #5dirtyfrankJun 23, 2011 23:59:43 | Don't a ton of us OTTers have no group? That would be cool but i can't be DM since i don't have much time for it especially once school starts up again |
| #6Robin_HoodlumJun 24, 2011 0:00:35 | Don't a ton of us OTTers have no group? Yeah me neither. I'm married with kids. EDIT: And I'm old. |
| #7pigknightJun 24, 2011 0:09:37 | Then quickly /nose before the other OTTers do! |
| #8Robin_HoodlumJun 24, 2011 0:16:08 | Then quickly /nose before the other OTTers do! OK, it will help me to understand if you tell me what the "/" means. I thought it meant "no" or "stop", but what does "no" nose, or "stop" nose mean? ... Or do I need to regularly communicate like this... "l337 n!&&@ LuLz !!0one!!!111!eleven!!1!1!" ... to understand? |
| #9Crimson_ConcertoJun 24, 2011 0:22:54 | I've tried play-by-posts before. They're always fun right up until the first combat encounter, and then they hit a brick wall and usually fall apart because one battle can take, like, a month. =/ If it's entirely role-play, though... |
| #10pigknightJun 24, 2011 0:27:14 | Then quickly /nose before the other OTTers do! / is for slash commands in video games. /dance will make your character dance /whisper sends a message to a player /report is used to report /joke tells a joke ect. So /nose is how you virtually put your hand/hoof/paw over your nose. |
| #11EscherEnigmaJun 24, 2011 1:33:54 | Why don't we make a PbP? We tried that, remember? |
| #12pluisjenJun 24, 2011 2:27:24 | Since I live in the not Pittsburg area, I'd love to play not D&D with you ![]() |
| #13The_SilverswordJun 24, 2011 2:34:40 | Hey! I live in the not Pittsburg area too! |
| #14zombie_babiesJun 24, 2011 9:45:30 | Umm ... *un-bump*? ![]() |
| #15ADHadhJun 24, 2011 10:11:12 | Umm ... Fail. |
| #16bone_nagaJun 24, 2011 12:47:20 | I'm not big on PbP. I prefer Maptool or a similar VTT but it requires a little more coordination and planning on everyone's part. But don't worry R_H, I will totally not play D&D with you. |
| #17ADHadhJun 24, 2011 12:50:03 | I can not play a lot of games with you, RH! We can start by not playing D&D, MtG or Settlers of Catan. |
| #18pigknightJun 24, 2011 13:10:37 | Why don't we make a PbP? Oh Escher! We were young and inexperianced! It was too much and we went too fast. Can you give us another chance? |
| #19EscherEnigmaJun 24, 2011 13:35:04 | You're still young and inexperienced. |
| #20dirtyfrankJun 24, 2011 13:56:50 | Then quickly /nose before the other OTTers do! /nose I always saw the "/" in the sense of bbcode which would be put at the ending part of the code. Why don't we make a PbP? several times. it failed several times too. ![]() |
| #21Robin_HoodlumJun 24, 2011 17:06:15 | You're still young and inexperienced. ![]() |
| #22Ragnar_LodbrokJun 24, 2011 22:58:56 | I've tried play-by-posts before. They're always fun right up until the first combat encounter, and then they hit a brick wall and usually fall apart because one battle can take, like, a month. =/ I could "DM" all RP. I've got a setting ready that just needs a stable thing, and it's in the right place to make things interesting. Best of all, I actually have time now that school's out. |
| #23pigknightJun 24, 2011 23:53:14 | You're still young and inexperienced. |
| #24TimmehJun 25, 2011 0:33:40 | Combat only takes a while if you've got players/DMs who aren't willing to do other people's actions if they don't respond within a reasonable time. It also helps to streamline certain things (you don't need everyone to roll initiative, you just need the DM to roll it. You don't need to have the player who is granted the attack to roll the MBA, you just need to have the granter roll the MBA.) Combats usually take a week to a week and a half in a good group. It's not too time consuming, if you can post here every day, I'm sure that PbP is just fine. |
| #25Robin_HoodlumJun 25, 2011 9:50:44 | You're still young and inexperienced. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! ![]() |
| #26Cpt_MichaJun 25, 2011 9:54:04 | @ Pig and Escher.we could so Not play 40k, and I would so not let people borrow my armies if they didn't have one of their own! :-p (seriously I have a Tau force, an IG force and Necron force.) |
