Recently a friend of mine bought the Mouseguard RPG and we played it a few times and it made me think of Watership Down, so I went and pickd up a copy. |

Recently a friend of mine bought the Mouseguard RPG and we played it a few times and it made me think of Watership Down, so I went and pickd up a copy. Watership Down is truly epic. One of my all time favorites. I just finished my drug (book) binge - Trainspotting, A Scanner Darkly and Requiem for a Dream (I've read more books like these before but dedicated my last three open slots to the genre - atypical for me). Requiem for a Dream, I must say, is one of those rare books where the movie far exceeds the quality of the written work. Overall, I'm terribly disappointed. Selby just tried too hard. The movie, thankfully, toned down a lot of his nonsense. Oh well, at least the other two were good. Like, good enough to remind me that PKD was a genius and get me to buy more of his stuff. I'm reading Ubik now and have to say it's nice to find myself captivated by his intelligent insanity once again. Oh, and Welsh proved to have enough talent to tempt me into buying some more of his stuff, too. Just not yet. I'm back on the wagon so that means it's PKD until I run out of his stuff or get bored. |

Pretty good read actually, a lot of loose ends were tied up and I can finally see the "good guys" winning now, for the longest time it seemed that they didnt stand a chance in hell. Only one more book to go, im not sure what im going to do when its finally finished, Im gonna have to find another epic fantasy series to get into, Maybe ill get into that Game of Thrones you guys are always talking about, or maybe I'll give Lord of the Rings another try, I still havnt managed to read all of that one. |
