I need a name for a pig-like race. They're like vikings, except snuggly soft.

Yeerps, because how dare those tuskless monkies call us after those unevolved animals, begging for scraps?!

now, let us call the beasts of war and slaughter our foes, and may our dead feast until they are bloated in the big trough of Valhalla.

I think the word you're looking for is "human".

More seriously, are you looking for what they would call themselves, or what other people would call them?  'cause what they call themselves can be just about anything, and would actually be pretty odd if it has some refernece to pigs in it, as they wouldn't consider that their defining attribute when their language was forming (unless it's an aritifical race, in which case all bets are off).

If it's what other people call them, then a name with a pig-reference is much more likely.

Good idear. I'm going to go with Boarwegians Boarians for their common name, but Kladvir for what they call themselves.

I thought up Kladvir in Church. I come up with the best stuff in Church.

If they are anything like humans in this regard, they're word for themselves would mean "people" or "the people". Just as many cultures consider earth the middle ground between heaven and hell. From the species level on down to the individual, humans are very "me" oriented.

Well, yeah, but that would be in their own language which, to everyone else, might sound like anything.

I suggest War Pigs, if only for the reason that the song is good.
