On the topic of games - Deus Ex: Human Revolution

May 12, 2011 1:39:25 I just saw the trailer for this one. It looks awesome. I still consider the original Deus Ex to be one of the best games ever. Has anyone else played the original? Is anyone getting the new one?

If you haven't played Deus Ex I can really advise it. The story is very good, the gameplay is incredible and you have so much freedom and so many different ways to approach the game.

Here's the trailer. It's 5 minutes of epic.

May 12, 2011 8:07:46 Well, the trailer gives you a glimpse of the story. The first Deus Ex was high on the intrigue, plot twists and deep story lines. The backdrop of it all is still the near future and about human augmentation and exploitive governments and corporations in a grim and dark world.

What the exact story about, they are obviously not going to tell you as that'd spoil too much

May 12, 2011 11:54:59 Yeah, it was supposed to come out earlier this year (April, I think?), and my husband was really bummed that it got pushed back. He's looking forward to it. I haven't really looked at it, myself.

May 12, 2011 20:56:24 I think I played the first one a little, mostly a complete blank. Utterly forgetable. I remember something about climbing on a big building and being chased around some storage crates by guards with crappy AI. I then went inside and vandalized cameras. Thats about all I remember.
