This is why you must carefully measure your explosives...

I don't see what went wrong, but then I have no idea what it was supposed to look like.

They continued on like nothing strange happened and they managed to complete the excercise without anyone getting hurt, so looks like a succesful training? :P

When the soldier ran up and slapped the stick against the window of the bus, it should have just blown in the windows, distracting and disorienting the hostage takers... It wasn't supposed to blow the whole side of the bus off.
I couldn't quite tell from the video, but it looked like the explosion blew the soldier clear out of video range.

I think he just fell on the ground and was buried by some bus debris.
And I don't find stuff like that funny.

BTW., at first I thought it was going to be a political thread.

That's... oddly amusing in a very dry, and stupid way.

That's a valuable lesson.  These guys seem to 'save' hostages like my D&D group used to 'save' towns.  We'd actually want to save them, but somehow our fights would always lead to a massive disaster resulting in the loss of the entire city.  It first happened as an accident, but it was so funny the DM decided to make it a running gag of sorts.  Those poor NPCs ...

But yeah, valuable lesson.  Check the charge or risk killing the hostages when you try to 'save' them.  ;)

That reminds me of the Futurama episode when they become superheroes and the mayor says something like "The value of the jewels are slightly more than the damage caused so its a net gain!"
