Opening a Gaming Store

A friend of mine and I are looking to open up a game store in our local area. The 2 stores in this area that did any viable business at all have been closed down due to a death in the family and not being able to stay open due to medical/funeral bills.

The closest one north to us as strange hours and sometimes isn't open at all and the other, south of us, runs tourneys and events but the owner dose not keep much in stock at all. He will order it for you, but that kills the point of having a gaming store. Might as well just order everything on the internet.

We are looking to open up a place that offers retail goods and sanctioned tournaments/events. But we are not sure how to start, other than money. We just aren't sure how to get product, who to talk too, the supplier. If there is anyone out there with advice or tips we would be grateful. I do realize that opening a small business is a huge risk, so if your planning on telling me that, please keep those comments to yourself.

Thanks!
