| #1algorandSep 02, 2009 4:47:51 | I made a fantasy-themed cartoon for the Fox/Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge. It borrows heavily from role-playing and 80's cartoons. For my next episode, I'm planning on adding new characters and I was having trouble deciding what viewers might like most, so... QUESTION: What kind of PCs and NPCs would you like to see in my next animated cartoon? Race, Class, Gender, Personality? I sincerely will read every suggestion and I thank all of you just for reading this -- it means a lot to get good advice from my peers! To get an idea of the humor I'm using in my cartoons, see my 4-minute animated short. Thanks guys and gals! |

While he just embarassess himself most of the time, under certain conditions this guy can be ridiculously competent. A mature lady that acts a bit like a team mom... but most time she's the team's strict grandmother. Monk or cleric.
Those are thought-up right now, but I already have a few of such characters made years ago, complete with a Martu-Stu team leader ;). |

She also tries far too hard not to discriminate against males, getting really embarrassed when an anti-male epithet inadvertently slips through. "Oh, I'm really terribly sorry! I didn't mean to call you 'boy'! I really didn't mean to imply that... Oh gods, I just said it again, didn't I? I'm so sorry! I know you poor unfortunate males can't help being born that way! Oh, I'm sorry, I seem to have made you upset again..." Think of someone born in the Southern US when segregation and casual racism were accepted, struggling to cope with interacting with neg... "Oh, I'm sorry, what are you people calling yourselves these days?" with African-Americans on an equal footing, genuinely trying to overcome their own racist upbringing but failing dismally (and hilariously). Except replace 'race' with 'gender', obviously. A half-orc monk who looks like the generic 'big dumb barbarian' but is actually a scholar and a gentleman, having turned to the esoteric philosophy of a mysterious foreign guru (who may or may not turn out to actually be the BBEG in disguise). Even when punching your face through a wall, he maintains a serene and friendly demeanour, apologising sincerely for the beating he's giving you. |
