| #1KillerGMMar 25, 2009 1:19:25 | Blame dirtyfrank for this. Sooooo... What's your talent? Pics/video will go far in impressing the judges and audience. |
| #2dirtyfrankMar 25, 2009 1:22:42 | I have the talent to inspire people with great thread ideas. |
| #3Cpt_MichaMar 25, 2009 7:06:25 | http://sparkster11.deviantart.com/ I got Talent! sorta.... my deviant art gallery. |
| #4ADHadhMar 25, 2009 7:06:37 | I have the talent to inspire people with great thread ideas. And hog the spotlight. I have the talent to ignore threads and hate people. |
| #5crossroads_wandererMar 25, 2009 7:54:45 | I can sing decently well, but there aren't any videos and my laptop has awful recording quality. |
| #6rakeMar 25, 2009 8:41:00 | I can convince cute Irish redheads to sing for me. |
| #7crossroads_wandererMar 25, 2009 10:07:25 | I can sing over here, but you won't hear it. :P |
| #8cherubaddonMar 25, 2009 10:10:22 | I'm working on fluently reading both Latin and ROT13. Does that count :whatsthis ? |
| #9teepeekayMar 25, 2009 10:12:02 | I can convince middle-aged women in administrative positions to give me permits. I'm not sure it's ever been caught on tape though... |
| #10rakeMar 25, 2009 10:56:20 | I can sing over here, but you won't hear it. :P Doesn't mean you won't have done it for me, though. : P |
| #11crossroads_wandererMar 25, 2009 11:34:55 | :P |
| #12rakeMar 25, 2009 12:35:36 | You know you'd be sad if I stopped trying. :P |
| #13crossroads_wandererMar 25, 2009 12:36:04 | No comment. :P |
| #14rakeMar 25, 2009 12:39:40 | Speechless? Happens all the time. Ladies love a rake. |
| #15straythMar 25, 2009 13:34:27 | I'm into penciling, and I usually draw fantasy. Here are a couple such pieces: 1, 2. |
| #16rakeMar 25, 2009 13:38:15 | I'm into penciling, and I usually draw fantasy. Here are a couple such pieces: 1, 2. Really good! |
| #17m-barkMar 25, 2009 13:59:14 | My talent consists mostly of making obscure and lame jokes. It is so sad that they cannot walk. |
| #18zombie_babiesMar 25, 2009 14:00:41 | I juggle bears. With chainsaws. |
| #191_ton_ghostMar 25, 2009 14:25:24 | I can convince middle-aged women in administrative positions to give me permits. ![]() Awesome/respect. I'm not sure it's ever been caught on tape though... "You'd like to think that wouldn't you?!" -Fessini, "The Princess Bride" I know how you skated through the DMV so effortlessly despite mammoth sized cataracts and a prosethetic limb...and btw, removing it for her was a classy move ;). Even the gentleman in the cougar den. Stayth, nj. More plz. As for me, some of my talents (that I can post here w/out social censoring or incarceration) are: Craft Weaponsmithing 3 ranks ;): (Jr yr. jewelry [pain in the ass] making) |
| #20ShiftkittyMar 25, 2009 14:58:00 | My talent is goofing off. I'm supposed to be working right now. I even wrote rules for goofing off. The first rule is that there must be something else that you are obligated to be doing. Goofing off on your own time isn't goofing off. The second rule is that it must NOT be productive. The third rule is that there must be consequences if you are caught. It's not really goofing off if nobody cares. |
| #21IdolisMar 25, 2009 14:58:56 | I can belch the alphabet and fart to the tune of the national anthem. Does that count? |
| #22pigknightMar 25, 2009 17:28:54 | I can start awesome threads. |
| #23dirtyfrankMar 25, 2009 17:30:56 | I can make awesome posts. |
| #24pigknightMar 25, 2009 17:31:43 | True that. And the little RP you do in the Edition War is amusing. The Edition War: Sponsered by Soap. Use it for Christ's sake! |
| #25ciaranMar 25, 2009 18:45:32 | I used to be in a pretty serious local band, before I cared about paying bills. :D |
| #26crossroads_wandererMar 25, 2009 20:37:57 | Handle (glove?) Animal 2 ranks |
| #27baneofelvesMar 25, 2009 20:40:14 | Don't forget that it's tender and tasty! According to everyone I know, my talent is mixing words of wisdom in juvenile humor. |
| #28dirtyfrankMar 25, 2009 22:42:37 | Does KGM have any talents? |
| #29fenrir7139Mar 25, 2009 22:44:06 | http://sparkster11.deviantart.com/ I got Talent! sorta.... my deviant art gallery. Those're good! |
| #30KillerGMMar 26, 2009 0:30:46 | I used to be able to touch my nose with my tongue. I can wiggle my ears. :D |
| #31dirtyfrankMar 26, 2009 0:37:05 | I used to be able to touch my nose with my tongue. Is that because you have a long tongue or a big nose? :P I can wiggle my ears. :D Sort of like dumbo? ;) I can make over 8,000 posts in less than a year, but I don't think I'd call that talent. I can push peoples' buttons. :D |
| #32KillerGMMar 26, 2009 0:39:04 | Long tongue. :P I couldn't do it after I got it pierced, though. Yes, like dumbo. I can't fly, though. I'd totally have huge ears if I could fly with them!! |
| #33toastedamphibianMar 26, 2009 7:07:52 | I can make Green_Yawgmoth unreasonably mad for almost no reason at all. Check my sig! |
| #34rakeMar 26, 2009 7:51:05 | In essence, you are everything that is wrong with this forum and indeed are the culmination of what is wrong with the population at large. You skim over a couple lines and think you have enough to be an expert, which you clearly do not. You are not smart, you are not clever, and you are not worth any more time, mine or anyone else's. You get the dubious honor of being one of a very short list of people I officially ignore on these forums. Nice. |
| #35saintkeeleonMar 27, 2009 9:13:46 | I can see into people's souls across the internets. Proof of my prowess [post=18082368]here.[/post] |
| #36ranadielMar 27, 2009 12:42:46 | My cousin was on America's Got Talent!.....Oh is this supposed to be about me? My style of programming in Verilog has managed to achieve perfect results, achieve the results quickly, and instill madness in all who bear witness to its magnificence! I can memorize and understand almost any continuity mess no matter how freakikng messed up(I'm looking at you Summers family). I could go on with my talents, but I got to leave some for future posts. |
| #37baneofelvesMar 27, 2009 14:07:51 | I can make Green_Yawgmoth unreasonably mad for almost no reason at all. Check my sig! What did you say to him to get that reaction? |
| #38toastedamphibianMar 27, 2009 14:29:12 | Nothing really. Just click the little blue arrow in the quote if your curious. |
| #39baneofelvesMar 27, 2009 14:32:03 | Wow. He needs to learn to disagree politely. |
| #40dhampyrusMar 27, 2009 14:33:08 | This is why I never bother with [PEACH] threads. Ever. Period. |
| #41dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 18:45:04 | I'm a failure. I hear it takes some amount of talent to be one. Does it count? |
| #42baneofelvesMar 27, 2009 18:48:34 | Yes, but the problem there is that I'm a bigger failure than you, so I would win if we went with that kind of approach. |
| #43Hocus-SmokusMar 27, 2009 22:39:21 | I draw, paint, sculpt and build things. Here's a few of my drawings: WARNING: some of these are a bit on the Not Safe for Work side. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll46/chris_king1976/Belts.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll46/chris_king1976/NightQueen.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll46/chris_king1976/Samurai.jpg |
| #44pigknightMar 27, 2009 22:41:05 | I can draw up a chart explaining the love doctehedron in the Edition War. |
| #45KillerGMMar 27, 2009 22:42:52 | I can draw up a chart explaining the love doctehedron in the Edition War. Do it! Maybe it will help. |
| #46pigknightMar 27, 2009 22:45:17 | I did! |
| #47TouchfuzzyMar 27, 2009 22:50:53 | I can make really pretty tables and charts... (seriously, my players always look at my homebrew charts kind of odd... probably becasue of how freakish I am in finding identical colors, as close as possible fonts, and so forth to the original material... plus just random insanity) One day that might help me in an office job I guess (that I hope I never have) Other than that I can sing. I don't have anything to record with or I would. In high school I sang tenor 2 in the boys quartet, we won region, placed something like 3rd in state. I also play drums. And write, |
| #48KillerGMMar 27, 2009 22:51:01 | Oh. Where is it? |
| #49Hocus-SmokusMar 27, 2009 22:52:51 | Other than that I can sing. I don't have anything to record with or I would. In high school I sang tenor 2 in the boys quartet, we won region, placed something like 3rd in state. Like barber-shop quartet stuff? |
| #50dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 22:54:22 | I draw, paint, sculpt and build things. Here's a few of my drawings: Post these in Astrid's. If you think they are art that gets it right then you should post it in the What Art Gets It Right? thread. |
| #51TouchfuzzyMar 27, 2009 22:55:02 | Like barber-shop quartet stuff? Yes. (not exactly, but similar enough) I was supposed to do the Boy's Solo competitions my senior year... but some things interfered with that... (namely having a kid and dropping out to work full time/go to college) |
| #52Hocus-SmokusMar 27, 2009 22:57:07 | Post these in Astrid's. If you think they are art that gets it right then you should post it in the What Art Gets It Right? thread. I can't go to Astrids. I get ticked off way too quickly there. My wife hangs out in there occassionally, but they even tick her off. She has said repeatedly "These bi---es are almost enough to make me regret being born a woman". That speaks volumes to me. Especially coming from her, since she's a shrink. |
| #53dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 22:59:35 | What username if you don't mind sayin'? |
| #54KillerGMMar 27, 2009 23:02:38 | Me. It's my goal in life to anger posters' wives/girlfriends. ;) |
| #55Hocus-SmokusMar 27, 2009 23:02:44 | What username if you don't mind sayin'? Ilora Graywolf I think. That might not be exactly how it's spelled, but it's close. I can never remember if she uses 2 l's or just one. Ilora, Illora... EDIT: Not sure how long it's been since she was on there, seeing as how they tick her off, but hey...General Discussion ticks me off daily and I still post there. |
| #56dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 23:03:54 | I don't think I've seen that username in Astrid's at all. She must be quickly in and out of the parlor then. |
| #57MechaPilotMar 27, 2009 23:15:00 | I can also wiggle my ears. I can even do one ear at a time. I can turn a quite a lot of things into self-deprecating comments. My father once tried to get me to sing in church quoting "make a joyful noise unto the lord". I told him "If the lord wants a joyful noise I'd do better to shut my fat a$$ up" I've also been accused of releasing Silent-Boblike nuggets of wisdom. |
| #58TouchfuzzyMar 27, 2009 23:15:56 | I can't go to Astrids. I get ticked off way too quickly there. My wife hangs out in there occassionally, but they even tick her off. She has said repeatedly "These bi---es are almost enough to make me regret being born a woman". That speaks volumes to me. Especially coming from her, since she's a shrink. I go there... avoid actually posting because its a very aggressive place (no matter WHAT your opinion is you will likely be near attacked for it)... I do have fun reading some of the posts to my wife though :P EDIT: @Mecha Pilot... I dream of Veritechs too :D |
| #59dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 23:17:33 | I post there and I ain't have any problems. Well, I do get some flack from time to time but it is almost always from a non Parlor regular that is trolling or what not. |
| #60MechaPilotMar 27, 2009 23:21:02 | EDIT: @Mecha Pilot... I dream of Veritechs too :D That's good. Cuz they're coming. I am being 100% serious here. I checked the DARPA site, and I saw a project they're working on "Variable Geometry Aircraft". I'd join the USAF for that. |
| #61pigknightMar 27, 2009 23:21:55 | I only played Veritech: Battle Cry. Loved that game. |
| #62TouchfuzzyMar 27, 2009 23:23:20 | That's good. Cuz they're coming. ...I could never qualify to be a pilot... I lost an eye in a work accident... (sort of, I still have the eye, its just blind.) |
| #63MechaPilotMar 27, 2009 23:24:33 | ...I could never qualify to be a pilot... I lost an eye in a work accident... (sort of, I still have the eye, its just blind.) Sorry to hear that. At least you can still enjoy the gaming though. |
| #64TouchfuzzyMar 27, 2009 23:24:45 | I only played Veritech: Battle Cry. Loved that game. I've seen the tv series, read all the books, played the really really horrid palladium rpg... battle cry was awesome btw... I love Robotech. Its like a super nostalgiac part of my childhood. |
| #65pigknightMar 27, 2009 23:26:28 | I dominated at that game. :D |
| #66dirtyfrankMar 27, 2009 23:41:02 | I draw, paint, sculpt and build things. Here's a few of my drawings: An ORC just took out your picture with exposed bewbiezzz. |
| #67Mad_JackMar 28, 2009 3:47:39 | Okay, talents... Dumb stuff - I can wiggle my ears. I'm double-jointed - I'm 265 lbs. and if I practice enough I can still put both legs behind my head. I can dislocate my thumbs at will. I'm pretty much ambidextrous. When I practice, I can do damn good voice impressions of over 15 different characters ranging from Gizmo to Goofy to Darth Vader and even the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz... Not so dumb stuff... I'm a decent mini painter. I'm a published poet - two college literary journals and two pieces in a collection called Who's Who In Poetry that I had to pay $60 to get a copy of ![]() In college I also competed in Poetry Slams (competitive performance poetry) on a local level, and could have gone to regional competition if I'd felt like it. One of my poems has been used as a marriage proposal three times and succeeded twice. I'm a trained actor - I did a number of shows in college, one of which was actually invited to run at a well-known professional theatre (although we declined due to scheduling problems and burn-out). I've also performed at national Rocky Horror Picture Show conventions in front of up to 400 people. My main talent, though, is sort of a jack-of-all-trades ability. I'm a natural MacGuyver. Basically, if I can get a clear mental picture in my mind of how something is made or done, then there's a damn good chance I can make it or do it passably well. I've sewn my own theatre costumes and made medieval dresses for weddings, built furniture and done major home repairs, sculpted in every medium from metal to mashed potatoes, and dabbled in more hobbies than I can count. It's actually occasionally become a problem at times - people who've known me for any length of time tend to fall into the bad habit of just automatically assuming I'm competent at everything, no matter how complicated it is... ![]() |
| #681_ton_ghostMar 28, 2009 12:43:53 | Hocus-Smokus: don't post these in Astrid's. Unless you want to draw back a stump...and I'm not talking about the hand you sketch w/ either. Touchfuzzy: Hell yes. Robotech was the peak of cartooniness in the blurred haze of my youth, namely 4th & 5th grade. God, I wanted to be Roy Fokker bad. Him or Breetai maybe. Very badass. Oh, stupid human tricks/gamer talents: Can anyone get a d4 to spin? (2 hands) How many lead minis can you fit in your mouth? Can you snatch the last slice (pizza) while the DM is flat-footed? |
| #69toastedamphibianMar 28, 2009 15:51:50 | Can you snatch the last slice (pizza) while the DM is flat-footed? dirtyfrank can't. |
| #70dirtyfrankMar 28, 2009 18:48:55 | Can you snatch the last slice (pizza) while the DM is flat-footed? Well, I am the DM so it would be kind of tough to snatch something while I'm flat-footed and off my guard. I do however get payment in the form of food. |
| #71Hocus-SmokusMar 28, 2009 22:49:40 | An ORC just took out your picture with exposed bewbiezzz. I'm not surprised. God forbid the human body be exposed. I hate the US fear of of the nude form. It's ridiculous. |
| #72Hocus-SmokusMar 28, 2009 22:52:21 | Hocus-Smokus: don't post these in Astrid's. Unless you want to draw back a stump...and I'm not talking about the hand you sketch w/ either. That's why I don't post there at all. Too much Spice Girls "girl power" stuff going on. It's a celebration of women, by women, for women...and it's borderline silly. I've seen and played with too many gamer-girls to take anything they say in there seriously...or at least no more seriously than anything they say anywhere else on these forums. |
| #73MechaPilotMar 28, 2009 22:52:55 | I'm not surprised. God forbid the human body be exposed. I hate the US fear of of the nude form. It's ridiculous. It's not the US that fears nudity. I think our record of porn indulgence is proof of that. It's only the censors and powers that be who think it's somehow destructive. |
| #74Hocus-SmokusMar 28, 2009 22:55:00 | It's not the US that fears nudity. I think our record of porn indulgence is proof of that. It's only the censors and powers that be who think it's somehow destructive. It's the main reason we have a porn indulgence in the first place. Something as simple as a breast is seen as taboo, and people do so love to explore taboos. If nudity were as socially acceptible in the US as it was in other countries, it is very doubtful that we would even have a porn indulgence any more. |
