If you're not a cheap-ass, check out Borderlands 2. Totally awesome in its own right but the new expansion material is EPIC. Like, totes. It's friggin' D&D, yo. Like, the NPCs are playing a D&D game and you're their characters. You run around killin' Orcs and Skellies and Dwarves and Dragons ... it's awesome! They even have themed weapons! A shotgun that shoots exploding swords, grenade mods that shoot lightning bolts or fireballs! It's so rad.

I've had all the Battlefield games since they first came out with BF1942. I even had that crappy Battlefield Vietnam game.
But I only play on PC.

Jul 01, 2013 5:50:44 TF2 is free to play. I also used to play Battlefield Heroes when it was still in beta.
Loadout is fun (in a very immature way), but I think you have to pay for access now. I got in during free beta.

Stars! It's a really old Windows95 era turn-based strategy game but it's also awesome so I break it out once in a while.

Stars! is a 16 bit game, so those of you running 64 bit windows might need to run it in a virtual machine (Linux users can run it under WINE, on a virtual machine, or under WINE on a virtual machine ). VirtualBox is a good free and opensource virtualization platform. Grab it and install a 32 bit version of windows (xp or 95 would be best), then install Stars! on your new virtual machine.
