| #1oxybeOct 16, 2010 12:15:23 | now the real news: i'm going to start a Nuzlocke run of 1st gen Blue, using a Super Game Boy of course. for those who don't know what a Nuzlocke run is: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Nuzlocke... effectively it's upping the difficulty by imposing a set of limits. then drawing the results with personal interpretation of the events and posting it online of course. GENERAL NUZLOCKE RULES: -if a 'mon faints, it's "dead" and has to be released. no takebacks. -only the first 'mon of any area can be caught, and none else. if if faints/flees, tough luck. -all 'mons must have nicknames. PERSONALIZED RULES: -exception to rule 2 is for duplicates: only one of any 'mon can be caught, so if i already caught a pidgey, and the first encounter in a new area is a pidgey, i can go for the next one until i meet a new one. however i cannot catch duplicates of dead 'mons. if my pidgey dies, i can never again catch another pidgey. -no items can be used to affect a 'mon. this means only healing done is via pokemon center. when considering non-healing items: escape ropes are good to go only if i somehow manage to "block" myself into an area (example: in the middle of a strength puzzle and my strength mon dies). -can only save inside a pokemon center. none of this "save inside the stupid bat-cave" until later. now i am looking for some help on the community and if there is interest i will showcase my (for lack of a better word) "art": Charmander, Squirtle or Bulbasaur? i will end by saying this: new HG/SS wifi event, download a free Mew! GLEE! gots me a mew! for the first time since Red/Blue, do i have a full set of the original 151! |
