You know, if those hot lunches included broccolli, or cauliflauer, or brussell sprouts, or zucchini, I don't blame the kids one bit.

I brought a sandwich to school every damn day from first grade to eighth grade... If they wanted to punish me, they would have had to feed me the school food.

I work at a daycare, teaching English to students aged 2-5. I get the school lunch every day. Pretty good, actually.

The last teacher who worked there doing my job was apparently a picky eater, so they're thrilled that I just eat everything they give me, and fast (in Japan that's considered a sign that you like the food). Cold sandwiches wouldn't be a punishment to me, but I like the hot lunches too. And the terrible coffee in the office.

Glad to hear it's working. The punishment, that is.

Depends on how the creamed chipped beef is prepared.  Properly spiced, it is quite good.

I agree with you on the bologna, though I do have an affinity for fried bologna.  Tastes kinda like fried spam, esp if you make it crispy.

mmmmmmmmm

I'll do spam-spam-spam-spam-spam-baked beans-spam-spam-spam and spam!

our school lunches weren't "actually" provided by the school. it was it's own little cafeteria/restaurant-thingy with it's own staff & budget. the food was prepared in front of the students and it was well-priced. being able to eat 2 burgers, a muffin & a juice for just over 5 bucks was a steal. plus, they would have pizza delivered every now and then.

as for bologna, one should refrain from slandering the noble Newfoundland Steak.

You forget that they will do more rolling around than walking around too. (Just tip em over and watch them roll. they will become mostly sphere shaped anyway)

I'm pretty sure I remember saying these same (or at least very similar) things... ten or fifteen years ago.

Well I think it's finally hitting the point of fruition EE.

Heh one of the chief complaints for Enlistment now is the appalling low number of people that physically qualify for the Baseline just to get into the Army or National Guard.

Conscript illegal immigrants? Two birds, one stone...

Edit: three birds if you then press fat unemployed people into fruit picking chain gangs.
