I was listening to Pandora today, and I heard a song that made me think - this is the only song I like by this band.  The rest of their stuff, even the stuff that they're super-famous for, I dislike!!

I was wondering what were some of the OTT's one-hit wonders?  What songs were the only ones you like by a band?

They could be popular on-hit wonders (ie: the band made it big with one song, and was never heard from again), or just yours (ie: it's a popular band, but you really only like this one song by them).

The song that was mine?  Thank You by Led Zeppelin.  I really really don't like any other of their songs (not a commentary on their talent, I just don't like them), but I like this one - and made the mistake of "liking" it on Pandora, and now it keeps throwing other Led Zeppelin songs at me!!

There are a few bands like that for me, but that's all I can think of right now (probably because I just heard it).

So .. what are yours?

EDIT: Please try to just post links, rather than the videos themselves, as it tends to slow down the loading of the thread (have you tried to open "What are you listening to" recently?!?).  Thanks!!

Yeah I feel the same about Zeppelin. Plant sounds like someones got his nads in a vice or something.

And as for my favorite one hit wonder, I like acapulco gold. Oh yeah, we're talking about bands here, uhm, theres so many, Where Angles Fear To Tread by Heaven comes to mind. Back when I was like 12 that song was the ****!! Recieved lots of airplay, and then the band just disappeared. Not as fond of that song as I used to be though, my tastes have matured somewhat.

Umm ... I can't really think straight today.  So ... uhh ... Sneaker Pimps Six Underground comes to mind cuz I can't think of anything else I like by them.  Oh, and Dragonette's Fixin' to Thrill.  Yeah.  Those:

Metallica's Nothing Else Matters :+ I pretty much dislike everything else.

Also, Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight. Brilliant song, but basically the only thing worth playing.

Dood, the chick from Sneaker Pimps has a sexy voice and the song is just plain cool.  The Dragonette song is more of a fun sorta thing.  It's just got a different, cutesey style that amuses me.  Not the same old crap everyone makes, ya know?

I edited the OP with a request to just post links and not full videos because it really slows the load-time for threads.   Thanks!

As for the Sneaker Pimps -   But you're right, I don't think there's another one of their songs that I like ... or even know?

They also had Spin Spin Sugar and something on some soundtrack that was supposed to be a collaboration with Manson that he hijacked instead.  Both are 'meh', I think.  But yeah, Six Underground is totally rad.  Never skipped it once in my life, heh.

They did another song?

Yeah, I bought the cassette tape (back when music came on such things) just because I liked Turn Up the Radio. As it turned out, that was the only song on the tape worth listening to.

Ah yes, that would be Its a Long Hard Road Out of Hell from the Spawn soundtrack. I actually kinda like that song, that movie wasnt so bad either, I used to be pretty big into Spawn back in the day, I think I might even still have some of the action figures around here somewhere.

And just post linkys KGM? Jeeze, its been so long since ive done that, Im so used to embedding the video, especially after finally figuring out how to do it. But ok, ok, linkys it is, lets see if I remember how to do that.

Even if you like that song a lot, it's not really a Sneaker Pimps track.  The bands were all supposed to collaberate and Manson kinda dick moved the Pimps.  He let them cut their part and then took it to check out.  Instead of working with them on alterations and whatnot, he just used her vocals in his track or something.  So, really, it's a Manson track.

Yes that is definitely a dick move, they still recieved credit for it though, and im guessing their share of the royalties, but a dick move none-the-less. I only sorta kinda like it, and it is under Marilyn Manson on the 'puter.

Oh, and I just thought of another one:

Does it count if they only have three songs instead of one? Cause Ke$ha has Tik Tok, Backstabber and Your Love is My Drug

I guess Strobe by Deadmau-five (:=P), though I haven't throuroughly listened to any of his other stuff yet.

Ke$ha has zero songs.  None.

Deadmau5 is pretty ok.  Nothing fantastic, IMO, but I can listen to most of his stuff and like it.
