| #1jetshieldJun 15, 2011 23:46:26 | I absolutely loathe reading anything written by someone who insists on using "alot". It's a small thing, but it irritates me to no end. There are few things that'll make me disregard an otherwise well reasoned argument as quickly as "Alot of people..." or "There are alot of...". The occasional typo can be forgiven, but continual use of "alot" just makes me think the person writing it is an idiot. Okay. I'm done ranting. What are some of your pet peeves? |
| #2capitan_estabanJun 15, 2011 23:49:20 | I don't think I have any pet peeves, or if I do, few people peeve me alot of the time. (Don't read this). |
| #3EscherEnigmaJun 15, 2011 23:55:02 | [Alots] are your pet peeve? Poor alots. They're so unloved. |
| #4jetshieldJun 16, 2011 0:40:38 | Allie not posting in over 5 weeks is another thing that bugs me. ![]() |
| #5LadyNeferRaJun 16, 2011 5:10:28 | When people mix up "since" and "sense". It makes me feel like beating them sinceless. |
| #6pluisjenJun 16, 2011 5:40:54 | Those aren't pet peeves, though :P As for pet peeves... I get annoyed when people consciously butcher language to be cool. I really don't mind typo's and I'm horrible with verb-forms, but when you start butchering words because it gives you "street cred" you are crossing the line. I also have an issue with people who say things like "dem outsiderers should learn to speech english". If you're going to demand people to learn your language, at least have the decency to learn it yourself, sheesh. |
| #7Robin_HoodlumJun 16, 2011 6:04:03 | Liberals, socialists, and schmucks with saucy mouths. |
| #8JhariiJun 16, 2011 6:17:01 | I cannot resist posting this a second time.![]() |

| #11pluisjenJun 16, 2011 9:17:21 | Yeah, those kind of people. They seem to frequent some other forums I visit and are easily recognisable and very annoying. |

| #13Pyrate_JibJun 17, 2011 11:05:21 | 1# People who talk or text during a movie. Makes me crazy they can be so rude that I want to kill! 2# People who don't tip when eating out in a restaurant with table service. If you can't afford to tip don't eat out or take your meal home (carry out). Wait staff depend on tips and are taxed upon them. |
| #14bone_nagaJun 17, 2011 13:28:40 | 1# People who talk or text during a movie. Makes me crazy they can be so rude that I want to kill! Or people that just talk in inappropriate venues in general. Or those who are practically yelling into the phone so that everyone nearby can hear their entire conversation. 2# People who don't tip when eating out in a restaurant with table service. If you can't afford to tip don't eat out or take your meal home (carry out). Wait staff depend on tips and are taxed upon them. My wife is horrible about this. I used to scold her every time until she started tipping regularly. The only time I don't tip is if I get some really piss poor service. Other pet peeves: -People (usually in the military) making up acronyms for everything, including things that already have an acronym. -Misusing acronyms, like RPGs (they are not rocket propelled grenades dammit). -People pretending to be experts when it quickly becomes apparent that they don't know ****. -People spreading misinformation about laws or regulations because they heard it from some sergeant major years ago and never bothered to verify it (everything from you can't shoot someone with a .50 cal to you can't wear the hood that's on your Army-issued rain gear while wearing a hat because it counts as wearing two sets of headgear at once). -People that have nothing better to do than wander around and make themselves look important because they really have no purpose in life. |
