| #2zombie_babiesNov 18, 2011 13:02:16 | 'Cruelty free' is a lie. PETA won't tell you that, but it is. Most food has a blood cost. PETA just likes to pretend that the stuff they like doesn't. |
| #3Tevish_SzatNov 18, 2011 13:12:17 | Sadly, they probably would have gotten their way if it was "Turkey, CA". I say this as someone who lives in CA. ![]() At least they didn't try it on the nation of Turkey. You know, I used to treat PETA in a light hearted manner and (being quite the omnivore myself) make "people eating tasty animals" jokes regarding my stance on their food stance, because back then they seemed like a sane organization that I just happened to disagree with on some points. I swear, they're suffering a real-life version of Flanderization... not just the perception of them, but their actual stance becoming more wacky and extreme over time. Or am I just remembering a time that never existed when their main rallying cry was "rescue animals from your local shelter" not "meat is murder"? |

| #5ADHadhNov 18, 2011 14:22:28 | Considering they made a game of a skinned tanooki chasing Mario to reclaim its skin, I would go with just a lil' crazy That, or they just hate furries, like other trolls. EDIT. I've found and played the game. PETA is surprisingly metal. And disturbing, but in a humorous way (you know, crossing the line twice thing). And are they aware tanuki is a mythical animal? I know it's based on a raccoon dog, but the real ones probably can't do all those things with a certain part of their anatomy ![]() (I've also seen a clip of Chinese [I think] people skinning raccoon dogs and it wasn't pretty; I think they forgot to kill the critter first) |
| #6shiningwolf88Nov 18, 2011 14:30:58 | Peta actually came out afterwords and said the game was supposed to be a joke-game to remind people that tanuki, the japanese racoon-dogs, are skinned alive still. |
| #7ADHadhNov 18, 2011 14:35:05 | I must say, PETA hires competent people for their games. |

What do you mean "lately"? |
| #9grehnheweNov 20, 2011 11:30:38 | Doesn't PETA know turkeys are dangerous? Eat them before they eat you!![]() |

| #11EscefNov 20, 2011 17:33:23 | Doesn't PETA know turkeys are dangerous? Eat them before they eat you! I've got the book that illustration comes from around here somewhere. Hadn't actually looked at it in ages, though. Put a smile on my face to see it. Thanks. |
