| #1homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2011 20:25:53 | Anyone else notice that the boards have been updated and now there are stars for rating on the posts? Edit: apparently you can rate your own posts. This will be interesting. |
| #2homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2011 20:36:59 | We can rate our own posts? I hate you. I gave myself 5 stars. You lowered my self-serving rating. You bastard. ![]() |
| #3homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2011 21:31:23 | Prove it. Don't make me invade Quebec to get the proof I need. |
| #4toastedamphibianFeb 01, 2011 21:52:35 | Prove it. Please don't. He is not equiped and his toes will fall off in his sweet shoes, probably ruing them. Seriously, there is alot of snow between him and you mate. Atleast postpone till, like, July or something. |
| #5toastedamphibianFeb 01, 2011 21:56:31 | Never gona happen. It is silly like invading Iraq... Never mind. No, invading quebec would be much easier. Like, half of you will surrender anyways. The rest of Canada will try and help, but there hearts won't really be in it. Before long they will be sueing for peace and ceeding quebec to the US would probably be the first thing offered. That way they don't have to put up with your pretentious whineing. It will be just like Iraq, only without any roadside bombs and all the people yelling slurs will be doing it in badly mangled French instead of Arabic. |
| #6homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2011 21:58:02 | Prove it. I will march in the Spring, equipped with a rock, a stick, a rubber band, and a German accent. With the French Ancestry of Quebec, I should be able to conquer it within 12 minutes. |
| #7toastedamphibianFeb 02, 2011 5:57:20 | I am not worried. The occupation won't last long. Americans won't be able to endure how strong our beer is, how strong our pot is and how hot and naughty our women are. All the more reason for the necessary ethnic cleansing, amiright? |
| #8oxybeFeb 02, 2011 6:00:06 | america won't have to endure much as quebec's defense will be just like it's women: good for one night only. plus if you're really relying on beer to defend yourself, i'm pretty sure americans have tasted alchool a bit more potent. also, really, pot? dude you must be smoking something since quebec only puts up a half arsed talk and doesn't do much to show for it's bravado. |
| #9pluisjenFeb 02, 2011 6:13:39 | Spraying the US army with alcohol would deter half their numbers since those aren't allowed to drink it yet, though. |
| #10homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 6:22:51 | I am not worried. The occupation won't last long. Americans won't be able to endure how strong our beer is, how strong our pot is and how hot and naughty our women are. I was born in Colombia remember? Your beer is swill, your pot is weak, and your women are... eh... Also,You'll be used as a drug mule. |
| #11jesse.two.coinsFeb 02, 2011 6:28:36 | canadian weed is weak I was downright dissapointed with it. |
| #12homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 6:44:49 | Does Colombia have cocain "flavored" beer? If not, I am not afraid of your beer! Colombia isn't known for beer. The drink of choice is agua ardiente. Basically translates to burning water. Hard liquor is the drink of choice. And no, there is no cocaine flavored beer. Adding flavor to the beer won't make it stronger. Colombia probably has cocaine infused beer. As to why people want toput stuff up your ass... my guess is they are trying to stuff you up so you stop talking ![]() |
| #13oxybeFeb 02, 2011 7:12:10 |
um no. i've met women from quebec. that's not wild, that's mental illness, aka: the crazies. you don't want to spend more then a night with them. seriously. get your women checked out. oh noes! 10% alchool! dude, give me a break... the reason i don't drink beer much is because that **** is well... ****. also: weak. give me something hard and come talk to me once you're drinking grown up drinks. seriously though, you shouldn't brag about a beer's strength, but it's taste. if i want to get blitzed, i have much faster & tastier alternatives then beer like rum, whiskey or vodka. beer, at least to me, is a far more casual drink. |
| #14QubeFeb 02, 2011 7:24:39 | pfff, seriously? wanna know which country has the best beer? Greets from Belgium ![]() Choice of beer: ne Duvel (8.5 % ABV). - In, my group, the most common alcoholic beverage when playing DnD or other games. |
| #15pluisjenFeb 02, 2011 7:32:29 | . if i want to get blitzed, i have much faster & tastier alternatives then beer like rum, whiskey or vodka. beer, at least to me, is a far more casual drink. If you just want to get blitzed, it can go much, much faster. Drink through a straw or inject the stuff directly, or something. |
| #16homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 7:38:34 | . if i want to get blitzed, i have much faster & tastier alternatives then beer like rum, whiskey or vodka. beer, at least to me, is a far more casual drink. Drinking through a straw to get drunk faster is a myth. If you want to get really drunk you have to bi-pass the liver. According to Manswers and 1000 ways to die (tv shows), anally consuming a bottle of liquor will bi-pass the liver and get you really drunk really fast. |
| #17jesse.two.coinsFeb 02, 2011 7:43:43 | . if i want to get blitzed, i have much faster & tastier alternatives then beer like rum, whiskey or vodka. beer, at least to me, is a far more casual drink. yeah but youll overdose that way. you have to soak a tampon and jam that sucker in there, personally I think thats homosexual so I don't do it but to each his own. |
| #18homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 7:45:00 | I don't want to know how you learned that. |
| #19jesse.two.coinsFeb 02, 2011 7:46:11 | I don't want to know how you learned that. had a crazy ex that told me about it *shrugs* |
| #20homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 7:48:19 | I don't want to know how you learned that. Liar... |
| #21jesse.two.coinsFeb 02, 2011 7:51:00 | So I'm a boozer that jams alcohol soaked tamps? |
| #22pluisjenFeb 02, 2011 7:51:27 | yeah but youll overdose that way. you have to soak a tampon and jam that sucker in there, personally I think thats homosexual so I don't do it but to each his own. You have... "interesting" ideas about homosexuality. Drinking through a straw to get drunk faster is a myth. Oh ok. Probably works on mixed drinks only, if you forget to stir them or something ![]() But anyway, people who want to get plastered and then resort to drinking anything are just **** or don't really want to get plastered. |
| #23homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 7:55:42 | yeah but youll overdose that way. you have to soak a tampon and jam that sucker in there, personally I think thats homosexual so I don't do it but to each his own. Doesn't work with mixed drinks either. The liver still filters out a good portion of the alcohol. Although mixed drinks usually include liquor that is stronger than beer. I guess you could get drunk a bit faster with a straw if you consume your drink faster while using a straw and have more drinks than if you didn't use a straw. Then again, you could just forget the straw and chug your liquor. |
| #24homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 7:56:25 | So I'm a boozer that jams alcohol soaked tamps? Emo kids. Always doing the weirdest stuff... ![]() |
| #25jesse.two.coinsFeb 02, 2011 8:02:17 | yeah but youll overdose that way. you have to soak a tampon and jam that sucker in there, personally I think thats homosexual so I don't do it but to each his own. IMO if you stick things in ur arse for pleasure and you're a man then thats gay. |
| #26pluisjenFeb 02, 2011 8:09:55 |
Sorry I forgot the context I was referring to my girlfriend drinking a mix drink through her straw. She was drunk after a few sips, probably because she couldn't handle booze at all. She'd be just as sick if she'd drunk the whole glas, but the straw probably made it look like it was really taking her down in a sip. Anyway she was much younger then IMO if you stick things in ur arse for pleasure and you're a man then thats gay. Your opinions have been found to lack any kind of need for consideration before, so I'll not say anymore about it Feel free to see things that way. |
| #27homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 8:16:06 |
You GF's story actually reminds me of a study I once saw a few years back. If I remember correctly, the study had something to do with how fast a person's body processed the liquor. I can't remember if faster processing made you get drunk faster or if not being able to process it made you get drunk faster. In any case, there was a genetic component to how fast you got drunk. The lead researcher, who happened to be Japanese, recounted a story about his father who would get drunk off the fumes from any hard-liquor drink... Like fall down drunk. I wish I could remember the name of the study. |
| #28homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 8:31:48 |
I'm seriously tempted to go to Quebec when my GF's dad gets us some free tickets and see how well you handle your liquor. |
| #29homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 8:45:44 | So it's like when you're awake and sober? |
| #30zombie_babiesFeb 02, 2011 9:13:04 | pfff, seriously? wanna know which country has the best beer? I think I had some Duvel the other day (we tried a few Belgian beers). Is it chapagne-y? If so, that'n was ok. I also tried something called Drak or something like that. It was potent but that was largely pointless because it was far, far too sweet to be palatable. I mean, I understand why beer has to be over 10% when it tastes like garbage. You really can't drink more than half of one and enjoy it. ![]() The thing with American beer is that nobody outside of America knows what American beer is. They like to think so cuz it fills them with some sort of pride to disparage American beer and champion the merits of whatever brews their country produces. I happen to enjoy beer and I've tried a variety from different places and have come to a simple conclusion: outside of ****ss, American beer is the best. Now I don't mean Budweiser - you know, that stuff you non Americans call American beer - cuz that isn't beer at all. It's poorly flavored water. Like Mountain Dew but with a hint of alcohol content. At any rate, I mean beer. From real breweries like Great Lakes Brewing Co and Sierra Nevada. Hell, Alaskan Amber was even pretty good. These companies make beer. The real stuff. And if any of you had actually tried them, you'd understand that your comparisons are off. These companies produce full flavored, high content stuff. They also produce a variety of styles. In short, they're breweries. And that's American beer. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. ;) EDIT: And this new social networking crap is slowing my forum experience down. And it's stupid. |
| #31KlirshonFeb 02, 2011 9:30:52 | It also seems that the appeal of the censorship for the beverage you implied has been denied/ignored. I suspect the company isn't a fan of the drink. |
| #32zombie_babiesFeb 02, 2011 9:36:28 | Nah, they're just lazy/apathetic. |
| #33ADHadhFeb 02, 2011 9:50:53 | Ehh, twitter, facebook, favouriting posts... oh! And now you can import your MtG deck into posts. I'm less interested in it than in beer. |
| #34EscherEnigmaFeb 02, 2011 12:45:21 | I am not worried. The occupation won't last long. Americans won't be able to endure how strong our beer is, how strong our pot is and how hot and naughty our women are. ... It's terrible but my first thought was a really, really bad joke. Spoilered for it's horrible-ness Now that DADT is repealled that won't stop the US army. They'll just send the gays first who will ignore the women (other then critiquing their fashion sense), forgo the beer for mimosas and other fruity mixed drinks, and... yeah, probably smoke the pot. |
| #35ADHadhFeb 02, 2011 13:25:59 | Hmm, now only the facebook button is there. Seems I wasn't the only one to complain. |
| #36homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2011 13:29:15 | Give it a few minutes, your blood-type will be up. Seriously though, this is annoying. Buttons appear then disappear. Anyone feel like taking bets on when they crash the boards? I say give them 4 hours and the forums are going down. |
| #37zombie_babiesFeb 02, 2011 13:34:58 | Well, they were down yesterday for a bit so I'd not be surprised in the least. I would be very surprised to find the buttons gone, though. |
| #38ADHadhFeb 02, 2011 13:44:03 | Just wanted to set up a twitter account, for inevitable future purposes. Turns out you have to give a name and a surname and you can't make it invisible. I do not need it immediately, so it can go screw yourself. (no, I don't have an fb account either) |

| #40EscherEnigmaFeb 02, 2011 14:24:46 | You feel bad for that? The joke relies on homophobic stereotypes (even if it's in the context of the armed forces which goes directly against those stereotypes). Generally speaking, I find jokes that rely on stereotypes to be extremely distasteful, however "true" they may or may not be since, regardless of the truth-value, they often contribute to negative atmospheres and unwarranted hostility. So yes. I feel bad about making a tasteless gay joke. |

| #45zombie_babiesFeb 03, 2011 8:47:09 | MOAR NOOZ:I completely understand the frustration. I do want to let you know that no work was diverted from other fixes or feature requests in order to add those buttons. They have been available on blogs, photos, and videos for a while now, and the vendor working on the core platform added them as a forums option for everyone. It was a "freebie" that we turned on. We didn't expect the slowness with long threads, or frankly the strong dislike. We're still working out the best option for them. |

Except for Facebook... no one can get rid of that damn thing. |
| #49pluisjenFeb 03, 2011 9:07:57 | Eh you can kill facebook (as in, all of it, all over the web) for your pc by adding www.facebook.com to your hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) either on the line that starts with 127.0.0.1 or by adding a line that starts with that and putting it behind that. You'll need administrator rights to do so. It should change everything that resorts on a facebook.com server to a "page not found" or just a whitepage. It was on of the things I tried from my side to deal with the facebook button and it works pretty well, there's just a small patch of white left after. It will also mean that it's impossible for you to visit facebook or for other people to link you there. Could take an hour or so before it goes through though because of your browser cache. If you really want to get rid of it. |
| #50homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2011 9:10:49 | would do it, but my GF who uses Facebook, would probably kill me. |

| #61EscherEnigmaFeb 03, 2011 12:46:05 | Don't worry Goldo, I got this. See, what happened was that they had a whole mess of people over, but they really wanted to get it on. But with so many guests it would just be rude to slink away to the bedroom for some sweaty horizontal fun. So they had a bright idea to go rent Jesus Christ: Vampire Slayer. Once the guests learned the movie title, those who knew it fled in horror, the others sat down for what they thought would be a campy (but fun) movie. 15 minutes into the movie the guests were gone and Goldo and his lady friend were doing the monkey tango on the couch. |
| #62homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2011 12:54:16 | Don't worry Goldo, I got this. Well... that doesn't say much about Goldo's performing abilities then. If I recall correctly, and I think I do, Goldo said she fell asleep in his bed and they didn't do anything. So much for resident pervert. |

| #99homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2011 12:38:45 | Nah. I was just to busy enjoying my self. Liar... You're thinking about her right now. |
| #100homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2011 12:41:23 | If you end up with a lame story like last time I'm going to have to revoke your man-card. |
| #101EscherEnigmaFeb 03, 2011 12:46:05 | Don't worry Goldo, I got this. |
| #102homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2011 12:54:16 | Don't worry Goldo, I got this. Well... that doesn't say much about Goldo's performing abilities then. If I recall correctly, and I think I do, Goldo said she fell asleep in his bed and they didn't do anything. So much for resident pervert. |
| #103jesse.two.coinsFeb 03, 2011 12:55:34 | Don't worry Goldo, I got this. for goldo thats where the funny story should have STARTED. |
| #104pluisjenFeb 03, 2011 14:32:29 | I imagine courtship rituals for mind-readers would either be very short or very long-distance. It's all "So would-" "Yes, tomrrow at-" "Sure, I'll wear a-" "It will be-" "Wait, you're already-" "Oh, just do-" "Umph!" "Oh!" I see no reason why they'd talk at all ![]() At any rate, I think I'm going to make the mind-reader dudes the most trustworthy and honourable of the bunch. Just because you'd expect them to be the ultimate liars. Should be somewhat different. The only warriors you can recruit from them are going to be social outcasts that were kicked out of the race because they were able to lie. Fun ideas, I hope I can convince marketing-guy to run some stories about the game on the webpage prior to the launch, to generate interest. Would be fun to be allowed to write some stuff again, and have people actually read it ![]() |
