Very cool, I imagine military history would be fun. I defiantly looked at oil/gas companies (they pay is certainly very very good but I'm trying to decide if I want to go for my PHD or not. That was my original plan but about 16 months ago, I got a (still unidentified) strange virus that attacked my heart and caused it to fail; I nearly died on the operating table. Though my heart appears to have fully recovered (thankfully it was in good health before I got sick) with no long-term damage, I lost 1 semester, spent a second at greatly diminished capacity, and a third scrambling to make up work from the previous 2. Basically I got really really burnt out on school so am going to take a break and work for a while before deciding what to do for the rest of my life.

Well, no, you have to read on your spare time, as other tasks (mostly routines) take up the work day. And most of that reading is "required reading", i.e. titles that you're expected to know about (popular books from bestseller lists). It's a rarer treat when I actually have the time to read some fantasy at home, and I savor those moments. ;)

I know astrology is all hocus-pocus. It just amuses me that with precession every constellation has shifted some in our night sky over the last 2,000 years. The astrology star charts and such haven't been updated for several thousand years and so according to astrology I'm a Leo when actually it was the constellation Cancer that was behind the son when I was born so technically I'm a Cancer. Because of the precession these are the real dates for the astrology signs yet few in astrology actually know it.

Capricorn - Jan 20 to Feb 16
Aquarius - Feb 16 to Mar 11
Pisces - Mar 11 to Apr 18
Aries - Apr 18 to May 13
Taurus - May 13 to Jun 21
Gemini - Jun 21 to Jul 20
Cancer - Jul 20 to Aug 10
Leo - Aug 10 to Sep 16
Virgo - Sep 16 to Oct 30
Libra - Oct 30 to Nov 23
Scorpius - Nov 23 to Nov 29
Ophiuchus - Nov 29 to Dec 17
Sagittarius - Dec 17 to Jan 20

It just amuses me some. It's quite off cuz it hasn't been updated in so long and yet people hold so firmly in believing in it.

Yep. Though it will be the North Star again in 27,800 CE.

Here are a list of pole stars and when they will be pole stars.

Prominent Pole Stars
c.3000 BCE - Thuban
c.1000 BCE - Kochab
c.2000 CE - Polaris

c.7500 CE - Alderamin

I think that it's interesting on how we know almost absolutely nothing about the universe but then you'll have some astronomers talk about dark energy and dark matter like they play with it all the time even though they ain't have the faintest clue what it is or even if it exists.

One thing I think is interesting is that NASA is looking to sending people to the moon again by 2020. They are going to be getting some help from private companies and such. Right now there is a sort of contest going on with private companies to see who can be the first to get a lander/rover on the moon and have it perform certain functions. Also NASA is going to be using private companies to see about getting a satellite network up around the moon by the time we return to it. It will be awesome to see a moon landing with great picture and awesome sound.

Currently I work at a print shop/copy center
However I'm working on a degree in Game Design & Development (yes, I go to college for video games :D )

That's nothing. A guy from my gaming group went to graduate school in Scotland to get a master's degree for it.

I'm technical support.

Job is highly uninspiring, but the pay is adequate, I don't have to break my back and it seems that there's a lot of future in this job. And the company is really big international corporation. Also the city is just dreamy, I've always wanted to live here. Only things that really suck are the uptight people and the weather.

Just remember: Work to live, don't live to work.
