Present an idea on how Moriarty could take down Sherlick Holmes

1. The Evidence Trap

"Yes Doctor, the Victim was most certainly murdered...the mud footprints on the floor leave a residue of oil on the skin when touched suggesting mineral oil from the muddy banks of the river near the industrial district and the silk rope used to strangle the victim has a cherry scent...our villain is middle class. He frequents the brothels on Lamp Road so he has money to spend and travels through the nearby Oilworks district, probably a bookeeper or Manager...cough! cough!...Watson!...I cant see."

DM BRIEFING: When you are up against a high Passive Perception Character like Sherlock Holmes- it is best to disguise a trap so it looks like something else and use their abilities and techniques against them. In this case The murderer tracks in mud from where ever they have picked it up from, Kills an expendable target, and leaves a selection of residues that a High Passive perception PC would assume is eveidence of a crime. It is not Evidence - it is the three components of a Poison which when the PC is exposed to it - becomes disabled and vulnerable.

The "Flourescent Dagger" Trap

"To the careless viewer this may appear to be an ordinary door knob, but the trained eye sees almost immediately the small needle on the knob's back, coated with a most noxious poison, no doubt. We can simply grip the knob gingerly from the sides and open the doo-OOOOooooooooo..."

Giving the High Passive Perception PC an obvious trap with a low check makes them careless and less likely to utilize their active perception against the same situation. Thus, the PC will disarm the poson needle trap while failing to see the trap door positioned just below.

The Checkmate Masterpiece

Moriarty invites Holmes in for a spot of tea. When Sherlock politely accepts, he shoots the bugger with a gun after he arrives.

Sherlock: Yes I see we must match wits again in our epic struggle that puts chessmasters to sha....

*BANG!*

Sherlock: !

Moriarty: WHAT? I'm EVIL!
