| #1ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 20:40:44 | Introduction: Trudging Through The Ashes It's clean. So very clean and polished to a mirror shine. That's what hits you first, as you enter the Sim Commons institute For Enlightenment. The second thing that hits you, of course, is how pompous the name is. The building, while extremely high-tech looking, and as clean as a medical installation, is far too small to boast such a title. Created 15 years ago, this place served as a hub for some of the most creative minds of Lionwhite City. But that's past tense. Today, it is completely deserted, it's hallowed halls of chrome and steel a possible shelter for you and your companions from the monsters outside. Ever since the plague struck, and the z...Zacks started roaming the streets, you've been on the move, from shelter to shelter, trying to outlast them and avoid conflict, looking for a way out of the deathtrap the steel jungle has become. But now is not the time for philosophical musings and metaphors worthy of a B class Noir film. You need to look through this building and make sure its safe, and fast. If you don't turn this place into a fortress soon, the Zacks will make sure nobody is left to do the job. ((Now, introduce yourselves. The first choice will come up later. First, you'll establish your characters a bit.)) |
| #2ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 20:47:50 | ((OP done. Post time!)) |
| #3Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 20:55:02 | Checking a revolver, a tall man sat against an inner-frame pack. He then put the gun away and checked a sword resting near him. |
| #4pigknightJun 12, 2009 20:56:07 | Looking around, Heather says, "$5 says the zombie virus started here." |
| #5Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 21:01:20 | "Maybe, maybe not." Dan replied. |
| #6ranadielJun 12, 2009 21:02:13 | ((Great figures it would start as I'm going to bed. Oh well, I can still get some RP in I suppose. I'll just assume that I've already met up with these people.....I'll RP that encounter later. :D)) "What makes you so sure that it is a virus? I haven't seen any evidence to rule out true zombies or I suppose you might call them mystical zombies.....Well besides the fact that magic doesn't seem to work on this plane!" *grumbles to himself* "But that could just be a blocking field put in place by the necromancer behind this whole thing to stop the most effective counter-measures. I really hate necromancers." *sigh* |
| #7Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 21:08:57 | " Uh, oookay. " |
| #8pigknightJun 12, 2009 21:11:11 | "I think he dropped acid before the zombies started popping up," Heather says to Dan. |
| #9Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 21:12:54 | "Either that, or he belongs in an asylum. Or he could just play too much D&D." Dan replied with a shrug. |
| #10pigknightJun 12, 2009 21:17:58 | "I hear D&D is Satan's game." |
| #11Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 21:25:19 | "You read too much of Chick's BS then. D&D is as evil and satanic as a lump of clay. It can be fashioned into those forms, but more often than not, it takes on different forms, predominately heroic fantasy, where you kill demons and devils, instead of working with them." |
| #12ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 21:59:23 | From far away, the sound of something hitting the ground hard and with a metallic thud can be heard. Moments later, you hear the sound of steam pouring out. The work on fortifying the Institute hasn't even began, yet you can already see Zack from far away. It would be dangerous to leave and risk a perfectly serviceable shelter, though. What will you do? Choice 1: A) Fortify the Institute's doors and nearby windows, ignoring the noise. B) It's too risky to stay. Leave and try to find another shelter. C) Investigate where the noise came from. D) Station someone as a watchman and check out the noise. E) Prepare yourselves for a fight. No way that sound could have been made by a broken pipe or something in this place, right? ((Decision time! Here, you will have to pick what to do. Voting is a mix of consensus and first-come-first-serve. I'll try for a majority, but if too few people post within 24-48 hours, I'll go with what the majority of posters have decided until then, and what the first person picked in case of a tie.)) |
| #13Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 22:03:26 | (Ooh, tough choice. Err... I'll go with D.) Dan leaped up at the noise, drawing a revolver. "What in Helheim was that!?" |
| #14pigknightJun 12, 2009 22:05:23 | "We should station someone as a watchman and check out that noise!" ((D) Station someone as a watchman and check out the noise.)) |
| #15Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 22:07:10 | "Seems like the best option to me as well." |
| #16half_dragon_infernalJun 12, 2009 22:23:52 | What was that noise? Investigate? Don't Investigate? Investigate? Don't Investigate? I'll Investigate Hans thinks, grabbing a flashlight and scalpel while moving the bookcases he used to block off the the library side entrace, then moving them back. He headed toward the source of the noise carefully, with scalpel at the ready. (Option C) |
| #17ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 22:28:12 | ((Just a reminder, guys: Keep an OOC comment about what your vote is under your first post after I put up a choice, please. It can get pretty hard to tell your decisions just by RP, and this will get worse later on.)) |
| #18half_dragon_infernalJun 12, 2009 22:58:36 | ((Happy now Arms?)) |
| #19ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 23:09:35 | (( |
| #20half_dragon_infernalJun 12, 2009 23:20:23 | ((Also, your not gonna continue the EW judging by your siggy?)) |
| #21ArmisaelJun 12, 2009 23:25:42 | ((I asked around and the interest was too low. Sucks, because I REALLY wanted to finish Arms' story, but a two or three-player war just wasn't right.)) |
| #22pigknightJun 12, 2009 23:51:20 | "We should check what our weapons are," Heather asks the group, "I have a Glock. What 'bout you guys?" |
| #23Ragnar_LodbrokJun 12, 2009 23:57:16 | "Two fully-loaded revolvers, 24 spare bullets, and a Viking-style longsword. I'd rather have a mace and a flechete gun, though." Dan replied. |
| #24ranadielJun 13, 2009 5:05:49 | ((E)) *looks back to the rather obvious sword strapped to his back* "I'm hoping that question wasn't directed at me. But what the heck is a glock? Is it some form of time travel device?" |
| #25Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 13:06:11 | *facepalm* "A Glock is a kind of handgun. If you're wondering what a handgun is, it's a handheld weapon that uses gunpowder to fire a projectile." |
| #26ellorinJun 13, 2009 13:45:46 | A middle aged man in a suit appears, holding a shovel. "Zombies...zombies attacked the stadium! And it's spreading!" Ah, I see you're getting organised. Good-an organised defence is the path to victory I always said. I'm Aris Papageorgakopoulos, football manager...that's soccer to you*Sigh*" (not the best of introductions I know...) |
| #27Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 14:16:16 | "Dan Green. Contractor. Good to see another survivor beyond what we have here." |
| #28ellorinJun 13, 2009 14:41:57 | "Pleased to meet you son.What's that noise?" |
| #29ranadielJun 13, 2009 14:45:17 | "But if it is a gun, why call it a glock? That sounds like clock implying a relation to time. Does it shoot time distortion bullets? I guess that would be useful. I guess it could stand for gun-lock. So does it somehow inhibit guns that other people have? I don't think that would be useful against zombies, I guess if we are fighting intellegent zombies it could be useful.....although that opens up a whole other can of worms, the flesh eating kind." |
| #30ellorinJun 13, 2009 14:47:22 | "Has the kid been bitten?" |
| #31Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 15:06:02 | "For both questions; we have no idea." |
| #32ellorinJun 13, 2009 15:09:55 | "I see. Anyway, we shouldn't stay idle." (I vote for D) |
| #33Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 15:16:12 | "Right. Knowing the genre, I really hate saying this, but our best option may be to split into two groups: one to fortify this place, and one to find out what that noise is." |
| #34half_dragon_infernalJun 13, 2009 15:53:52 | (Arms, feel free to kick in and say what my guy sees stealthily moving towards the source of the noise from the library) |
| #35ranadielJun 13, 2009 15:55:13 | *thinks for a moment* "Wait, kid? Were you talking about me? I'll have you know that I well over 1000 years old. Unless this is a dimension that ages extremely slowly, I'm fairly certain that puts me as your senior. Kid my foot. |
| #36ArmisaelJun 13, 2009 15:58:41 | ((Okay, the votes have been tallied, and you've chosen to investigate the place, while leaving someone behind to watch the entrance. Who'll stay behind?)) |
| #37pigknightJun 13, 2009 16:00:04 | Loading her gun, Heather ask, "Who wants to stay here, alone? Sure as hell isn't going to be me." |
| #38ranadielJun 13, 2009 16:07:32 | "As much fun as getting away from you people would be, I doubt there is going to be an interdimensional portal opening up here anytime soon so I'm going to keep moving." |
| #39ellorinJun 13, 2009 16:10:49 | "I could stay behind, no problem. Yet all I've got is this shovel" Aris turns to Dan. "Will you stay with me son? You seem quite levelheaded. I'm sure we could make this place defensible". Afterwards he puts out two whistles and offers Heather one. "I'm sure it will be handy." |
| #40pigknightJun 13, 2009 16:16:34 | Taking the whistle, Heather tells him, "It probably will. The important thing is that we need to inspect the noise, fortify this place, and aquire a source of food." |
| #41Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 16:17:35 | "Sure, I'll stay behind to help fortify. Partly because I don't want to put my pack back on yet." |
| #42ranadielJun 13, 2009 16:21:21 | "What do you mean find a source of food? We kill zombies, roast them, and then eat them....at least the ones that aren't completely rotted. We have a perfectly viable source of food for quite a while, at least until the threat is gone." |
| #43pigknightJun 13, 2009 16:28:27 | "It is possible that eating a zombie could infect us." |
| #44Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 16:30:53 | "And it's technically cannibalism." |
| #45pigknightJun 13, 2009 16:34:30 | "That too." |
| #46half_dragon_infernalJun 13, 2009 17:01:39 | (Guys, how should I best meet you? Arms, do I find them first or the source of the noise?) |
| #47ranadielJun 13, 2009 18:03:10 | "If you cook it enough then they shouldn't be able to infect you. And it isn't really cannibalism. Think of zombies as a different species, like rapid cows, that consumes a human as a first meal and then takes on a humanesque form when it reaches adulthood. Anyways, the other option is pretty much starving, and it has been centuries since I've technically been human anyways." *shrugs* |
| #48ArmisaelJun 13, 2009 18:23:59 | ((Sorry for not answering, guys. I fell asleep. Now, let's see...)) Your steps resonate as you explore the institute, it's halls emptier than the soul of a business mogul. Slowly, however, you approach the source of the noise. Then, you turn a corner, and... You see a figure, covered in shadow, emerge from a doorway. It hasn't noticed you yet, and you got the drop on it. What will you do? Choice 2: A) Fire your guns at it and try to kill it from afar. B) Rush towards it to try and ambush it before it can react, taking it out with close combat weapons. C) Back off quickly and noiselessly, trying to avoid conflict. D) Wait for the figure to reveal itself more clearly. |
| #49half_dragon_infernalJun 13, 2009 18:47:48 | Hans hides, ready to ambush if it is a zombie (D) |
| #50ranadielJun 13, 2009 19:15:03 | ((Considering all I have are close combat weapons and I'm insane, I'm going with B.)) |
| #51Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 19:59:21 | (I chose to stay back rather than explore, so it ain't relevant to me. If I do get an answer on this one, however: D.) |
| #52ArmisaelJun 13, 2009 21:31:07 | ((All in due time. Your vote counts for tiebreaking, but you'll get your own event later on.)) |
| #53Ragnar_LodbrokJun 13, 2009 22:11:53 | (Okay.) |
| #54ellorinJun 14, 2009 3:03:37 | (In the meanwhile, what's the situation at the entrance? Any furniture we can use to hinder the zombies? And how far are they anyway?) "To think that I came here from the other side of the world! A scenic city hey said. We'll build a good relationship between our clubs, they said. A perfect place for fishing, they said. It will all be worth it, they said." |
| #55ArmisaelJun 14, 2009 15:25:23 | ((You've ventured pretty deep into the bowels of the institute. You don't remember exactly how far you've made it, but you've turned around a great number of corners.)) |
| #56fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 15:34:33 | A tall, thin boy, most likely a teenager, looked at the entrance for the "Sim Commons Institute for Enlightenment"; it looked surprisingly lean, compared to the rest of the city. He scratched his dog, Fenrir, behind the ears, squeezing his baseball bat in his fist, beneath his padded gloves. Then, he saw movement from the inside; zombie, human, psycho... he wasn't sure. Better safe than sorry. He squeezed Fenrir's lower jaw, signaling him to be quiet. The Siberian husky growled softly, and began to creep along behind his master towards the doorway. |
| #57ArmisaelJun 14, 2009 15:46:09 | Ragnar's Choice: You've just started your watch when you see someone approaching. A young boy, accompanied by a big dog, seems to be walking towards the Institute, a baseball bat in his hand. Behind him, however, you see a ghastly sight. Zack is creeping up on his, its mouth open, ready to strike. Choice 2 A: Will you... A) Leave the boy to fend for himself? B) Warn him about Zack's presence and open the doors for him? C) Rush out of the institute and try to take Zack down before he can hurt the boy? ((Fenrir, give me a d% roll.)) |
| #58fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 16:01:29 | |
| #59Ragnar_LodbrokJun 14, 2009 16:07:24 | (C.) Dan's eyes widened as he saw the Zack. Barreling towards the door and drawing a revolver, he wrenched the door open, shouting "Hey, kid, behind you!". Since the Zacks already knew where they were, he took aim and fired at the undead's forehead, guessing it to be the quickest course of action. |
| #60fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 16:21:11 | Ian turned just as the zombie's head exploded, spouting gore and shards of bone. "Holy Crap!" He turns toward the man in the doorway. "Dude! That... was so... AWESOME! You were just like "blam", and the zombie was like "Ugh..." and then it's head was like "PISH!" |
| #61terronusJun 14, 2009 16:28:38 | Ryan Fahey, scruffy and unkempt from the day's trek, had been making his way towards SCIE for some time now, ever since he had split with the old man from the liquor store. He thanked God-- downing a swig of scotch-- that he had managed to stay under the zombies' radar, and tried to recall any of the important details from the emergency broadcast about SCIE. Being an ex-detective, he figured he could dig something up... find out what was going on. It was getting to be [insert appropriate time] when he heard someone yell. He couldn't quite make out the words, but he sure as hell heard the familiar sound of a revolver. Shoot, there's people there!. Not normally one to spring to action, Ryan knew he would have to make double time, and make it extra clear he wasn't one of those damned ghouls as soon as he was in line of sight. He drew his own revolver, took one last swig, and raced towards the Institute. |
| #62Ragnar_LodbrokJun 14, 2009 16:29:49 | "Whatever. Now get inside, there're probably more lurking around, and the noise will just draw them over here." |
| #63terronusJun 14, 2009 17:16:39 | Ryan raced over the last stretch until he could see SCIE. He had spotted more than one undead in his final sprint to the building, but he hadn't waited to see if they had spotted him. He saw two figures at the entrance, and apparently one of them had a dog. Ryan decided to take his chances and assume that zombies didn't normally keep pets, and these were the people he had heard. "Hey! HEY! Wait!" He wasn't sure what was the best thing to yell, but he was out of breath anyways. With safety in sight, he quickened his sprint as much as he could, still not wasting time to see if he was being chased. Oh man, I need a cigarette. |
| #64half_dragon_infernalJun 14, 2009 17:36:56 | ((Arms, what were the conditions of my patient that zombified?)) |
| #65fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 18:12:36 | Ian looked over to see a man running towards them, a bottle in one hand and a revolver in the other. There were a few zombies shambling after him, but he was well out of range. "Hurry up, dude!" |
| #66ArmisaelJun 14, 2009 18:30:13 | ((Back to the main group...)) As you approach the figure, you notice that it's not Zack. The fellow's skin is healthily pale, instead of a dreary grey. However, he might not be completely sane... ------------- ((At the entrance... Ragnar, next time there's a combat choice, don't assume you succeeded on your attack, wait to see if I ask you for a roll or some other method of confirmation. I'll let this one slide, but it's something that all of you must keep in mind.)) From a place not too far away, you hear a chorus of moans. It seems that the sounds of battle have attracted someone. It might be wise to retreat into the institute. Choice 3A: Free Choice ((What does free choice mean? Well, you get to pick what you'll do. Remember you must take a consensus decision, though. With that said, what will you do?)) ---------------------- ((HDI, your patient is now one of the many, many Zacks that roam the city. Assuming you didn't stop to let him catch up, of course. :P)) |
| #67fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 18:43:48 | Ian yells at Ryan "Hurry up, man! There's more of 'em coming!" Fenrir crouches slightly, fangs bared and growling. |
| #68half_dragon_infernalJun 14, 2009 19:35:45 | (I meant what were the symptoms? Why was he in the hospital? Same as listed for Solanum is ZSG/WWZ, or different?) "Who are you? Why are you here?" Hans yells, his scalpel ready if the person charges. |
| #69ArmisaelJun 14, 2009 19:57:03 | ((As the sickness progressed, the patient's skin cells died, he slowly lost control of his body, and in the end, he suffered brain death. That's the cliff notes version, since I need some time to draft the long one. Also, the person...it's you. It's not someone else. That messages was directed at the rest of the group. :P)) |
| #70terronusJun 14, 2009 20:21:15 | Ryan closes the last dozen yards to the entrance, collapsing on the floor once he's inside. "Thanks..." His chest is heaving, and he can say little more for the next few minutes, but gives the two others a once over. "Ryan Fahey," he manages, before tucking away the small pint of scotch, instead lighting up a cigarette. ((sorry I took so long to get inside, heh)) |
| #71fenrir7139Jun 14, 2009 21:17:39 | Ian pulls the doors closed after everyone is inside. "No problem, man. Name's Ian; who're you?" Fenrir sniffed the man's hand, and, after a few moments, decided he was all right, and gave it a lick. |
| #72pigknightJun 14, 2009 21:19:46 | ((Back to the main group...)) "Sir?" Heather asks the man, aiming her gun at the man should he attack. |
| #73Ragnar_LodbrokJun 14, 2009 21:34:07 | (Err, I didn't say I hit. I just said I aimed and fired. For the choice, it's a no-brainer: I'll have to say retreat.) "Dan Green. I'm a carpenter. We should probably fall back and find a defensible or safe position." |
| #74terronusJun 14, 2009 23:19:39 | "Pleasure," Ryan says, half-sarcastic, considering the circumstances. "I guess we'll, uh, hopefully, have time for chit-chat later when we're safe. I've been out with those things for way too long and am just glad to see some other living people." "You two the only ones here? Guess I shoulda figured I wouldn't be the only one interested in the SCIE facility." |
| #75zombie_babiesJun 15, 2009 9:24:19 | From his hidden station in an abandoned building facing toward the Institute, Randy Williams has observed several people enter the building over the last few days. Reluctant to leave his cozy - and thus far safe - post, he feels he's left with little choice. Putting away his binoculars, he gets up and gathers his supplies. "Them people 'r' gonna 'tract them brain eaters here. Too many. Well, s'pose I best head over. One of 'em's gotta know how the 'ell to get outta here ..." Randy begins the short walk toward the institute. Those paying attention to the door will see a smallish man dressed in camouflage hunting clothes with a rifle slung over his back calmly walking towards the building, one hand occasionally rising in greeting to whoever may be watching. |
| #76ellorinJun 15, 2009 10:26:41 | Aris waves to Randy, motioning him to hurry up. "So, team, I assume that, as soon as that guy reaches us, we block the entrance with chairs tables and move to the inside of the building." |
| #77zombie_babiesJun 15, 2009 10:34:51 | Randy nods toward the figure waving him on. He chuckles and shakes his head when he sees that he's being urged to hurry and doesn't change his pace at all. Once at the door, he enters and takes a quick look around. "So, is yeh stayin' or goin'? Don't much look ya'all know that yerselves." He grins. "The name's Randy. Randy Williams. I seen ya'all comin' into this place from my perch over yander (he points to a building across the way) and reckoned this many bodies may be attractin' them zombehs. I'm a' hopin' ahm wrong." He pauses for a moment. "So how many are yeh and do any of yeh know the way outta this blasted city?" |
| #78ellorinJun 15, 2009 10:48:48 | "Hello, I'm Aris Papag...actually forget it, I don't think you could pronounce it anyway. There's more than us 4. Some of us have gone inside to investigate that strange noise. No whistle yet, so they're probably fine. Come, we should create a good defence. Here's, let's put this table at the entrance." |
| #79zombie_babiesJun 15, 2009 11:03:35 | "Strange noise? What sort of noise are we talkin' about here? Machinery? Animal? Either way I know a thing 'r' two that may help figure it out. But, if they's been gone for any time, I'd prolly best stay here an' help ya with closin' the place up. Thing of it is, I don't much like doin' so. See, it brings 'tention to the place. An' it makes it harder for thems inside to get out when they needsta." Randy winks toward Aris when he says the last and begins to help move furniture and whatever else to block the doors. "Oh, one more thing ta think about. If'n we block these here doors, we ain't gonna be able to let nobody in that needs it. 'Magine yerself out there bein' chased by them things. We'd have no way a lettin' ya in. Now, that ain't 'xactly no sort of insurmountable pro'lem to me, but ..." He lets the last comment drift off and continues to help. |
| #80ellorinJun 15, 2009 11:08:52 | "At worst we remove the stuff and let the poor chap in, it's not that hard. Impractical, I know, but there you have it. What was that about attention? You think they can think that much? I hadn't considered that. " |
| #81zombie_babiesJun 15, 2009 11:16:36 | "Well, I wasn't about to go lookin' for no group o people to spend my time with, but I didn't ave to." He smiles. "Ya'all are movin' into this buildin' like roaches to a motel. I don't claim to know me too much 'bout them zombehs, but I do know a thing 'r' two 'bout movement. It's easy to see. E'en when ya ain't lookin' ta find it. I don't reckon they'd got to be all that smart to find this mess o' folk. An' we're food ta them, ain't we? When yer hungry, ya know where food's likely ta be, no? Well, if people is food an' people stay in buildins, I cain't see how hard it'd be for them things ta figure it." As they get the last of the furniture positioned to block the door, Randy turns to Aris: "So, should we be fortifyin' more doors or are we ta wait 'ere 'till they'ns get back? If we're waitin', ya can take my glasses here an lookout with meh. I can use my rifle to see near as good as them glasses." He offers Aris a pair of binoculars. |
| #82zombie_babiesJun 15, 2009 11:26:46 | ((Sorry guys, gotta bail for today. Be back tomorrow! Have fun, kiddies. :P)) |
| #83ellorinJun 15, 2009 13:48:22 | Aris watches for movement with the aid of the binoculars. |
| #84ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 16:29:48 | ((Wasn't Aris with the group that decided to explore the institute? If so, Randy would have met the group at the door, not Aris. Unless you want to time-skip, but if so, you should clear it with me, guys.)) |
| #85pigknightJun 15, 2009 16:31:12 | ((Is the guy responding to Heather?)) |
| #86baneofelvesJun 15, 2009 16:38:49 | Nervously wandering down an abandoned alley, James looked around fearfully. He clutched his double bladed lightsaber replica that he bought. He'd already fended off a few....things after escaping his school. Slipping into a building that appeared empty, he called out nervously. Hello? Is anyone here? Gripping his lightsaber, he readied himself for another attack. |
| #87ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 16:41:31 | ((Is the guy responding to Heather?)) ((You should ask HDI. He's the guy you found.)) |
| #88ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 16:42:32 | Nervously wandering down an abandoned alley, James looked around fearfully. He clutched his double bladed lightsaber replica that he bought. He'd already fended off a few....things after escaping his school. Slipping into a building that appeared empty, he called out nervously. ((Bane, where's your sheet? I don't think I approved it...)) |
| #89baneofelvesJun 15, 2009 16:43:24 | (It's in the other thread. Page 3, I think.) (EDIT: post 42. It's on page 2 for me) |
| #90ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 16:51:49 | ((Okay, you're clear. Decision time!)) Choice 3B: As you enter the building, your eyes adapt to the darkness...and you notice that the place is filled with ghouls. Fearfully, you step back and out, trying not to be noticed, but you realize that one of the Zack's eyes glint with recognition. It still remains immobile, though. Quickly retreating, you come to a massive square, adorned by the wreckage of crashed cars. Near you, a big concentration of Zack walks and stumbles towards a car. A few turn their heads towards you, however. You need to find shelter...fast. You take a look around. You see three spots where you might find some security: A) a gas station with a ladder on the side that leads to the roof. B) A crashed bus, with its back door being the only means of entrance. C) A chrome-plated building, with a sign that reads "Sim Commons Institute For Enlightenment". Where will you go? |
| #91baneofelvesJun 15, 2009 16:54:10 | (C) Putting a good amount of distance between himself and the monster, James rushes into a chrome plated building. Crap, crap crap crap! He muttered to himself as he ran. |
| #92Ragnar_LodbrokJun 15, 2009 17:02:09 | "Well, you're moving a bit fast to be a zombie." Dan remarks as James rushes past. |
| #93ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 17:20:33 | A choir of moans suddenly resounds across the square. Zack, chasing James, rushes towards the Institute. |
| #94Ragnar_LodbrokJun 15, 2009 17:33:31 | "GODS DAMN IT!!!" Dan shouted as he drew his sword. "Too many to fight, and there may not be enough time to close the door. But, if they get in, we're done for. Better shut that door." Dan said aloud as he rushed to shut the door one-handed as he held his sword in the other to deal with any zombies that might get in. |
| #95half_dragon_infernalJun 15, 2009 17:55:06 | ((Wait, so arms, what are the results of my choice? Had a little problem called 2nd to last day of school today.)) |
| #96pigknightJun 15, 2009 17:59:54 | ((So where am I?)) |
| #97ArmisaelJun 15, 2009 18:14:36 | ((HDI: That you explored the place a bit before the rest of the group found you. Pig: Inside the institute, with everyone who votes on the first choice except Ragnar.)) |
| #98half_dragon_infernalJun 15, 2009 19:34:15 | ((NVM, missed your response. What is my situation?)) |
| #99pigknightJun 15, 2009 19:35:22 | ((I think that was me...but I found you (I guess).)) |
| #100half_dragon_infernalJun 15, 2009 19:39:21 | ((OK, read through the thing. My confusion was that I missed Arm's response to my post)) "D d d d don't shoot! I escaped from the medical facility when the first cases of zombies appeared!" |
| #101pigknightJun 15, 2009 20:51:26 | "Have you been bitten?" Heather asks nerviously. |
| #102ellorinJun 16, 2009 0:04:25 | ((Wasn't Aris with the group that decided to explore the institute? If so, Randy would have met the group at the door, not Aris. Unless you want to time-skip, but if so, you should clear it with me, guys.)) "I could stay behind, no problem. Yet all I've got is this shovel" (I thought I had been clear-Aris was staying at the entrance. I just gave Heather a whisle before they left.) |
| #103pigknightJun 16, 2009 0:11:42 | ((It's true. Before Heather and co. searched inside, he gave her a whistle.)) |
| #104half_dragon_infernalJun 16, 2009 17:16:53 | "No, fortunately. The patient went after one of my aids first" |
| #105ArmisaelJun 17, 2009 5:44:37 | As you speak, Zack suddenly emerges from behind a wall and grabs Heather. ((Everyone in that group give me d% rolls.)) -------------------------- At the institute's entrance, Zack has arrived to the gates. What will you do? Choice 4A: A) Try to repel Zack with any weapons at your disposal. B) Try to keep the doors closed and barricade the place. |
| #106half_dragon_infernalJun 17, 2009 8:52:27 | |
| #107ellorinJun 17, 2009 14:03:52 | How many Zacks? If more than four, I say B. |
| #108zombie_babiesJun 17, 2009 14:09:15 | ((Do we have any weapons available that aren't firearms? Randy only has a gun, really, and he'd not want to fire it if possible. Kind of the point of the exercise, I guess. :D Do we attract attention by killing the thing loudly or do we attract attention by allowing it to linger outside our door? If it's more than a couple, I say barricade and try to find the rest of the group. If it's a manageable number (two) that we may be able to take out without shooting, kill 'em. So here's the deal, Arms: I vote A if there are no more than 2 Zacks at the door. I vote B if there are more than 2 Zacks at the door.)) |
| #109ellorinJun 17, 2009 14:10:10 | (I've got a shovel ) |
| #110zombie_babiesJun 17, 2009 14:12:54 | ((Sweet. :D)) |
| #111terronusJun 17, 2009 15:02:12 | ((votes B for the entrance group)) |
| #112Ragnar_LodbrokJun 17, 2009 17:33:32 | (I've got a sword. And I agree that the number makes a difference. Still, I basically already went with B.) |
| #113ArmisaelJun 17, 2009 17:34:48 | ((There's about a dozen zombies at the door. Wouldn't be a real zombie game if they came in ones and twos often. :P)) |
| #114Ragnar_LodbrokJun 17, 2009 18:19:08 | (Well, good thing I shut the door before they got there :D .) |
| #115pigknightJun 17, 2009 22:47:48 | "Holy hell!" Heather yells as she struggles to break free. ((1d100=26)) |
| #116ranadielJun 18, 2009 6:07:54 | ((Oops, I didn't realize our group had to roll %. Oops:embarrass 65)) |
| #117ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 7:09:17 | ((Rana gets to act. What will you do? Consider this a free choice.)) |
| #118terronusJun 18, 2009 7:58:28 | ((Well, my character is slothful or slow to act for one of his weaknesses. I'll chalk it up to smoking and the sprint over, I didn't realize the whole entry group was rolling either)) |
| #119ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 8:55:50 | ((The entry group doesn't roll, only the scouting group. Speaking of which...)) You succeed at barricading the doors and windows. A few benches and chairs, along with a filing cabinet are enough to close off the door. Outside, the ghouls scream and punch the bulletproof glass of the gate. It seems like they're there to stay, and their moans are likely to attract attention. Choice 5A: The doors are strong, but they won't hold on forever. You'll have to do something to make sure Zack won't break through the door while you sleep. As you ponder what to do, a few pages with a bright crimson title fall down from the filing cabinet. A) Look for any tools that will assist you with exterminating Zack. B) Go looking for the rest of the group and warn them about Zack's arrival. C) Try to find another way out. D) Abstain from voting, look at the sheets that catch your attention. |
| #120zombie_babiesJun 18, 2009 8:57:51 | ((Randy will choose Option C. Kind of his style. :D)) |
| #121ellorinJun 18, 2009 9:00:59 | (Aris goes for B. If we pick another option, he would like to use his whistle-who knows? Perhaps the others will hear it and be warned). |
| #122ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 9:09:09 | ((Alright, looks like we only need Fenrir and Terronus to make a decision. Rana has to act too, I suppose, since I'll probably entwine Aris with the other group for a while, but other than that, it looks like I'll be ready to quicken the pace nicely.)) |
| #123terronusJun 18, 2009 9:42:59 | ((I voted B in post 111)) |
| #124ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 9:47:06 | ((Oops. My mistake. I'll give Fenrir a few more hours, just in case, and then we'll jump into the action.)) |
| #125zombie_babiesJun 18, 2009 9:52:14 | ((Looks like I'm outvoted. :D That's not a problem, really. Randy will help the group unless he thinks they're doin' something incredibly stupid. If that happens, he's out! :P Considering that B was his second choice, I don't see an issue. )) |
| #126ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 9:56:04 | ((In this case, the choices are individual. I want to branch out a bit, so I'll allow individual choices for a while. You'll probably notice the consensus choices when we return to them. ;) )) |
| #127ranadielJun 18, 2009 9:59:14 | ((Free choice eh? Only one option avaialble then.)) "Stupid undead, I have better things to do then waste time on you." *Attacks the Zack, trying to both punch it in the face with a katar and to cut off the arm that it is using to grab Heather using his sword* |
| #128ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 10:05:48 | ((2 d10 rolls, 2 d6 rolls, and 1 d4 roll, please.)) |
| #129ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 12:19:09 | ((Fenrir's got 30 minutes. Past that, I'm just going to keep on trucking, and say that he is guarding the barricade.)) |
| #130ranadielJun 18, 2009 12:39:23 | ((2 d10 rolls, 2 d6 rolls, and 1 d4 roll, please.)) ((15, 6, 2)) |
| #131pigknightJun 18, 2009 19:22:11 | ((2 d10 rolls, 2 d6 rolls, and 1 d4 roll, please.)) ((Me too?)) |
| #132ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 20:08:24 | ((Just Rana. The rolls were supposed to be independent, BTW.)) Ranadiel's blows strike true. The creature staggers backwards, its sickly flesh ripped off to reveal part of its skeleton. ((Everybody can act now. Give me your actions and I'll request rolls.)) |
| #133pigknightJun 18, 2009 20:18:55 | Heather shoots 2 rounds at the undead's skull. |
| #134ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 20:20:16 | ((Two d10 rolls, then two d8 rolls, please.)) |
| #135pigknightJun 18, 2009 20:28:02 | Pew-pew: 1d10=5, 1d10=10, 1d8=3, 1d8=6 |
| #136Ragnar_LodbrokJun 18, 2009 20:31:54 | (Wisest choice for now seems to be C, but trying to warn the rest of the group and picking up the sheets for later examination as well.) |
| #137ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 20:35:20 | Heather's first bullet whizzes past the ghoul's skull, but the second one puts him out for good. There is no time to celebrate, however, because six Zacks have popped out from one of the side rooms. Hunger glints in their dead, cold eyes as they charge towards you. ---------------------------- The sound of gunfire attracts Ryan and Aris to Heather's group. They arrive only to see the zombies charging towards the group. ---------------------------- ((Randy and Dan must roll d%'s.)) |
| #138pigknightJun 18, 2009 20:37:19 | "Now that's just not fair," Heather says as she turns and runs away. |
| #139ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 20:39:26 | ((d% roll, please.)) |
| #140Ragnar_LodbrokJun 18, 2009 20:40:33 | (1d%: 2. Crap, that's bad, innit?) |
| #141pigknightJun 18, 2009 20:41:03 | 1d100=88 ((High rolls are good right?)) ((Either Ragnar or I am screwed.)) |
| #142ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 20:44:21 | Heather cowardly manages to outrun Zack, leaving the other survivors to their fates. ------------------------ Dan loses himself inside the bowels of the institute...and a broken lamp falls on him. ((d% roll again.)) |
| #143ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 21:03:17 | As Heather runs away, a zombie comes down a stairway, glaring at her. He then lunges towards her. |
| #144Ragnar_LodbrokJun 18, 2009 21:05:56 | (1d%: 84.) |
| #145pigknightJun 18, 2009 21:06:41 | "Just how many of these are there?" Heather asks as she fires two more rounds at the creature. ((Might as well look around for Ragnar (Dan) if I kill it.)) |
| #146ArmisaelJun 18, 2009 21:09:21 | Dan manages to dodge the falling lamp. It hits the ground with a resounding CLANG! ((Another d% roll if you want to keep exploring, or a post confirming you want to stay and examine the room you're in so that I can provide a good description.)) -------------- ((Same old, Pig.)) |
| #147pigknightJun 18, 2009 21:11:48 | ((Hey, this is a zombie story. If people get shipped they die!)) Assuming same rolls. Pew-pew: 1d10=6, 1d10=2, 1d8=1, 1d8=5 |
| #148half_dragon_infernalJun 18, 2009 22:07:06 | Hans lowers himself into a defensive position, ready to strike zombies who approach him and mutters "Bring it on. You others, run, I'll hold them off!" |
| #149terronusJun 18, 2009 22:49:05 | Having been alerted by the gunfire, Ryan focuses his attention on the zombie that has attacked Heather. ((If she isn't in a safe position yet-- ie. killed the zombie that lunged & more-or-less in the clear)) He cocks the hammer back on his revolver and lets a few rounds fly. |
| #150Ragnar_LodbrokJun 18, 2009 22:53:06 | (I'll examine the room.) |
| #151ranadielJun 19, 2009 5:09:51 | ((Bah don't do so much when I'm asleep. I run from the Zacks as well.)) |
| #152ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 7:21:54 | ((Terronus: Heather has ran away. Do you want to follow her? HDI: Everyone else has left. Do you want to run? Remember, you are outnumbered 6 to 1 and this isn't D&D. Rana: d% roll. Ragnar: Post incoming, stand by.)) The ghoul smashes his fist against Heather's arm. The blow renders it numb, though it is still usable. |
| #153ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 7:42:23 | Looking around, Dan notices the room looks like a meeting room. A big table takes up most of the space, with a few stacks of papers here and there. It's obvious that people used to gather here, maybe for lectures, maybe for staff meetings. The ambient of frozen time the room posesses is rather eerie. |
| #154ranadielJun 19, 2009 8:38:01 | ((88)) |
| #155ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 8:44:35 | Ranadiel manages to run away, but part of the ceiling crumbles on him. Stunned, he doesn't notice a pair of ghouls near him until it's almost too late. ((Director's note: Took 2 damage. Actions, please.)) |
| #156ranadielJun 19, 2009 9:24:13 | "Oh that was unpleasent. Looks like it isn't over yet though." *sigh* ((I attack the ghouls!)) |
| #157terronusJun 19, 2009 9:24:47 | Realizing that the sound of Heather's gunshots were farther away than he first thought, Ryan dashes toward them. Not normally one to put himself out on a limb, he keeps the path he follows in his memory. He knows he can't go too far, though, because it might just end up being two potential victims instead of one. |
| #158half_dragon_infernalJun 19, 2009 9:25:20 | (Hmm. He is also slowly backing up,making his way so that the zombies are delayed a bit but he can still escape) |
| #159ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 11:07:14 | ((Okay, Rana, give me the same rolls as before. Terronus, d% roll. HDI: Okay, what's your weapon of choice?)) |
| #160ranadielJun 19, 2009 11:36:26 | ((Well this is a fine kettle of fish 1, 9, 3, 4, 2)) |
| #161half_dragon_infernalJun 19, 2009 11:44:41 | (My Scalpel. That's all he has) |
| #162Ragnar_LodbrokJun 19, 2009 12:11:46 | "Kinda creepy in here. Wonder what those papers are about." Dan mused aloud as he went to look at the stack, keeping his sword drawn. |
| #163terronusJun 19, 2009 12:37:28 | ((75)) |
| #164ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 12:44:17 | ((HDI: Okay... d10 roll, d4 roll, d3 roll.)) Ryan hears the sounds of gunfire, and arrives at the stairway only to find Heather reeling from a blow launched by a ghoul. ------------------------ The papers are a mix of legalese and status reports from the Institute's side facilities scattered across the city. One of them, a blue post-it, catches Dan's attention. It reads: "Ernest, you blithering idiot, I told you not to use the fire escape! It's not steady enough, and a fall from the fourth floor will be barely better than what I'll do to you for fooling around with that thing, you moron!" ------------------------ Tripping, Ranadiel whiffs his first strike, but the second one opens a big gash across the nearest ghoul's arm. However, it's retaliation is brutal, as he smashes his fists against Ranadiel's skull. The other ghoul, meanwhile, tries to bite him, but he's too quick for the creature to nail him. ((Another set of rolls, please.)) |
| #165pigknightJun 19, 2009 12:44:49 | Heather unloads her remaining four rounds into the ghoul: 1d10=6, 1d10=9, 1d8=8, 1d8=4 1d10=2, 1d10=8, 1d8=6, 1d8=2 ((I had to use two rolls)) |
| #166ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 12:50:48 | ((As I said before, do NOT roll unless I tell you to. A -2 modifier is applied to all the d10 rolls.)) Heather's shots whizz past the ghoul, though one of them hits his leg and another one causes a superficial cut. Reeling, the ghoul is unable to attack. ((d% roll to reload.)) |
| #167pigknightJun 19, 2009 12:55:22 | 1d100=14 |
| #168ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 12:59:43 | Too distracted by the zombie right besides her, Heather fails to reload in time. The ghoul seizes the opportunity, and his next hit sends her rolling backwards. ((Another d% roll if you wanna reload. Director's Note: took 4 damage.)) |
| #169pigknightJun 19, 2009 13:09:18 | 1d100=78 |
| #170ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 13:17:04 | As Heather stands up and tries to reload, the ghoul hits her squarely in the chest, knocking the air out of her. However, she manages to reload, and is ready to attack again. ((Director's Note: Took 5 damage, for a total of 9. Not in good shape... Also, when you roll, use the campaign name Project Moontan.)) |
| #171pigknightJun 19, 2009 13:21:12 | ((Alrighty.)) Heather fires four shots at the ghoul. |
| #172ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 13:21:58 | ((Same as before, with the same -2 penalty to d10's.)) |
| #173ellorinJun 19, 2009 13:46:01 | "We can get them! Strike hard!" Aris swings his hovel at the Zack(what am I supposed to roll?) |
| #174ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 13:46:59 | ((Which one? Who have you decided to help?)) |
| #175ellorinJun 19, 2009 13:50:10 | (Sorry, got a little confused. I'll try to aid Heather.) |
| #176ranadielJun 19, 2009 13:51:20 | ((Gah, must take these things down!....Oh good rolls! 10, 7, 3, 6, 4.)) |
| #177ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 13:51:47 | ((Okay. Roll a d10-1, and a d6+1. Remember to write Project Moontan as your campaign.)) |
| #178ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 13:53:48 | ((Gah, must take these things down!....Oh good rolls! 10, 7, 3, 6, 4.)) ((...And the Random Number God bestows a blessing. :P)) Almost as if he was preternaturally imbued with skill, Ranadiel manages to gut both of the zombies with a single attacks, spinning like a top between them. ((Thank that d4 for that. Otherwise, the second Zack would have gotten a shot at you.)) |
| #179ellorinJun 19, 2009 13:54:35 | (6,2) |
| #180Ragnar_LodbrokJun 19, 2009 15:10:13 | "A fire escape... might be just what we need. The rest of these papers may prove useful as well." Dan said as he put the papers in his pack. "Now, to find the others." he concluded as he drew his sword and went off towards the sound of gunfire. |
| #181ranadielJun 19, 2009 15:14:47 | "Well that was pointless. I guess I should try and limit the casualties or something." *wanders off trying to find Heather and the others* |
| #182pigknightJun 19, 2009 18:17:33 | 1d10-2=5, 1d10-2=1, 1d8=3, 1d8=6 1d10-2=7, 1d10-2=2, 1d8=8, 1d8=5 |
| #183half_dragon_infernalJun 19, 2009 18:54:13 | (7, 3, 1) |
| #184ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 20:04:38 | ((Ooph, finally got around to logging in.)) Aris' hit makes the ghoul spin like a top. However, Heather fails to capitalize on his distraction, as all her bullets miss. Enraged, the ghoul strikes Aris, seeking to pay him back and then some. Which he does, as his blow is one that could kill. ((Director's Note: Took 5 damage. Try aiming or something, guys, Heather could be killed by a max damage hit, and given the luck I've been having with the rolls...it probably WILL happen. Rana, Ragnar: d% rolls, please. HDI: Since you're alone against six Zacks and would probably die in a single turn, I'm giving you two turns to do anything you want. Don't expect this to happen regularly, though. This is just because we're just starting, and I'm not ready to completely take the kid gloves off.)) |
| #185pigknightJun 19, 2009 20:11:09 | Heather shoots two bullets at the thing's head. |
| #186ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 20:16:33 | ((Same the as the last two-shot.)) |
| #187pigknightJun 19, 2009 20:20:10 | ((1d10/1d8 per? or 1d10-2/1d8?)) |
| #188ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 20:21:55 | ((What did I request the last time you shot twice? :P d10, of course.)) |
| #189pigknightJun 19, 2009 20:29:33 | 1d10=1, 1d10=4, 1d8=2, 1d8=8 ((Oh pooh!)) |
| #190half_dragon_infernalJun 19, 2009 20:30:43 | Hans attacks again, and then runs |
| #191ArmisaelJun 19, 2009 20:45:19 | ((Same rolls as before, HDI, plus d% roll. Pig, now that Toasted is here, expect no mercy...and poorer rolling. :P)) |
| #192Ragnar_LodbrokJun 19, 2009 22:06:08 | (1d%: 80) |
| #193ranadielJun 20, 2009 4:36:04 | ((Ouch, 5)) |
| #194ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 11:47:58 | Ranadiel not only does not find Heather and her group, he gets lost in the process. Dan, meanwhile, does find them, and sees a battered Heather and Aris locked in battle with a ghoul. |
| #195ellorinJun 20, 2009 11:49:04 | (Can I try to trip the ghoul with my shovel? If so, what should I roll?) |
| #196ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 11:51:15 | ((Hmm...d10 as normal, but nothing else.)) |
| #197ellorinJun 20, 2009 12:00:23 | "I used to be a stopper you know. Which means that I'm good at this..." Aris attempts to trip the ghoul. (6) |
| #198ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 12:02:13 | Aris' boast falls flat, as the shovel simply bumps against the ghoul's leg. |
| #199ellorinJun 20, 2009 12:03:59 | !@#$%!Seems age took my edge! |
| #200half_dragon_infernalJun 20, 2009 12:16:53 | (4, 4, 3, 71) |
| #201ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 12:29:03 | Hans' desperate strikes misses, but he manages to outrun Zack. |
| #202ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 13:37:41 | The ghoul attempts to bit Heather, but she swiftly sidesteps, and he rushes past her. |
| #203ranadielJun 20, 2009 14:25:42 | ((Well at least I didn't find something that was going to eat me.)) "I feel like I'm being drawn to this place. There must be something important around here." *goes off trying to find something non-hostile, important, or preferably both* |
| #204ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 14:28:35 | ((d% and d10 rolls. You know the drill. ;) )) |
| #205Ragnar_LodbrokJun 20, 2009 17:07:05 | "Damn. Ah well, lets see what a good chop to the head can do." Dan said as he shifted to a two-handed grip on his sword's hilt and charged the zombie, slashing at its head. |
| #206ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 17:32:02 | ((d10 roll, then a d8 roll, then a d4 roll.)) |
| #207ranadielJun 20, 2009 17:50:47 | ((d% and d10 rolls. You know the drill. ;) )) ((*blinks* What is with me and d100s? 2, 5)) |
| #208ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 19:14:38 | ((Truly, they don't like you.)) Ranadiel opens a door... ...Only to find a twenty-strong Zack mob inside. ((Fitting music. You know the drill...face your greatest foe, d% rolls. :P)) |
| #209Ragnar_LodbrokJun 20, 2009 19:43:42 | (d10: 8, d8: 7, d4: 2) |
| #210ArmisaelJun 20, 2009 20:31:37 | Dan's strike not only slices the zombie, it decapitates him. Without guidance, the body briefly moves like a headless chicken, before falling to the ground. |
| #211Ragnar_LodbrokJun 20, 2009 20:42:42 | Dan sheathed his sword and said "There's zombies at the front door. It seems impassable. Once they get in, the place will be a deathtrap. Fortunately, I found a way out." as he presented the Post-it. |
| #212ranadielJun 21, 2009 5:07:31 | ((Fitting music. You know the drill...face your greatest foe, d% rolls. :P)) "Really? Really?" *tries to close the door before they notice him....or slma it in their face if they have already noticed him* ((37, on the bright side it is double digit and there is only one door for them to come through.)) |
| #213half_dragon_infernalJun 21, 2009 9:22:39 | Hans navigates through the building, trying to figure out which path the others might have taken. (Remember, this guy went to college here) |
| #214ArmisaelJun 21, 2009 13:17:02 | ((Ran, gimme three d% rolls. And pray that the RNG likes them, because if they're botches...well, a new character will be needed. HDI, give me a roll too.)) |
| #215pigknightJun 21, 2009 13:25:41 | ((Did I die? Did I hit? I never got a response to mah rollz!)) |
| #216ArmisaelJun 21, 2009 13:28:55 | ((You botched it and Ragnar saved your behind. Director's Note: Rested a bit, took 9 damage but is now down to 8.)) |
| #217pigknightJun 21, 2009 13:34:20 | Reading the Post-It, Heather says, "We should try to tell the others. They gave me a whistle, but I'll probably just agro some more zombies." |
| #218ranadielJun 21, 2009 13:41:10 | ((Ran, gimme three d% rolls. And pray that the RNG likes them, because if they're botches...well, a new character will be needed. ((.....Gah I pray this works well for me. 78, 73, 15)) |
| #219ArmisaelJun 21, 2009 13:59:28 | Running as fast as he can, Ranadiel manages to outrun the zombie horde, and, by sheer dumb luck, stumbles into his teammates in the process. |
| #220Ragnar_LodbrokJun 21, 2009 14:15:01 | "Yeah, that wouldn't be good. Oh yeah, your only weapon is a gun, right?" |
| #221ranadielJun 21, 2009 14:23:10 | *trips over his feet as he tries to come to a complete stop after noticing the other non-zombified people* "Stupid physics!" *gets up dusting himself off in the process* "I'm glad to see you guys alive. Not as glad as I would be to see a dimensional rift though. So how has your romp through this insufferable place been? I can't say that I've enjoyed mine." |
| #222half_dragon_infernalJun 21, 2009 14:44:46 | (45) |
| #223Ragnar_LodbrokJun 21, 2009 14:45:15 | "Relatively uneventful." |
| #224ArmisaelJun 21, 2009 14:46:07 | Hans arrives at the stairway, only to find the rest of the group waiting for him. |
| #225ranadielJun 21, 2009 15:28:26 | "Well aren't you lucky. So far, besides being stranded on this stupid dimension, I've had to take down three undead without magic, had part of a building fall on me, got completely lost, and discovered the zombie mating grounds." *shudders* |
| #226ArmisaelJun 21, 2009 17:11:18 | Your little chat is interrupted by the screams of a Zack horde nearby. Looks like your conversation will have to wait. Choice 6: A) Run up the stairs and try to get to the top floor. B) Stand and fight the horde. C) Spread out to try and confuse Zack. D) Get into the closest room and transform it into a fortress, to fight Zack on more even ground. |
| #227half_dragon_infernalJun 21, 2009 19:00:43 | "We should fall back to the top floor, hopefully we can find a passage to the roof and block off any zombie attempts to get at us" (A) |
| #228Ragnar_LodbrokJun 21, 2009 19:41:19 | "That seems to be the best course. Valhalla needs to wait, cuz I ain't ready." (A.) |
| #229ranadielJun 21, 2009 20:16:53 | *sigh* "Those are the zombies from the zombie mating grounds aren't they. As if my day couldn't get any worse. I guess I'll go along with the plan to head up. At least I can jump off the roof and fly away if things get too bad. Although I would like to mention that I think this choice of action is going to get all of you killed." ((A)) |
| #230Ragnar_LodbrokJun 21, 2009 20:22:40 | *shrug* "If this is the day Odin calls me, then so be it. But against my wyrd, I am invincible." |
| #231ranadielJun 22, 2009 4:51:47 | "Trust me there is no such thing as invincible. There is immortal, eternal, cockroaches, and extremely long lived. I really doubt you fall into any of these categories. If I could use my magic, then I might fall under a couple of these categories, but oh well." |
| #232ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 9:20:13 | ((Assuming there isn't a sudden surge of different votes, I'm moving forward.)) You rush up the stairs, only to find a massive room filled with columns, amongst which Zack roams. Before you can move, however, someone gestures towards you from behind a column. Warily, you approach, and discover that it is Randy, who had disappeared some time ago. |
| #233zombie_babiesJun 22, 2009 9:28:18 | ((Lemme know if I screw somethin' up, Arms. I don't want to assume too much. ;))) Randy sees the group approach. A clear look of relief is upon his face. "Good lord. I thought you'ns was gone." He motions the group closer. "I think I may have us a way outta this ere buildin' ..." |
| #234half_dragon_infernalJun 22, 2009 18:50:18 | (Z # and distance) |
| #235ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 18:56:00 | ((N shrtpst kthbai. :P Eyeballing it, you'd say there's about three dozen Zack, plus there's the ones who are probably coming up the stairs to do the Monster Mash with you. They're scattered all across the floor, some of them just 30 ft. away, some as much as 300-ish.)) |
| #236pigknightJun 22, 2009 19:12:58 | "Let's try to survive on the top floor, it almost always works." (A) |
| #237ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 19:58:31 | ((Psst...guys, this is a Free Choice moment. Just wanted to let you know. ;) )) |
| #238half_dragon_infernalJun 22, 2009 19:58:46 | (Distance between? Would they notice you as you take at one?) |
| #239ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 20:01:13 | ((A few are bunched up together, but most are pretty far away from each other. As said before, they're all spread across the floor. They'd definitely notice someone shanking one of their group, simply because there isn't much cover other than the pillars that hold the structure.)) |
| #240pigknightJun 22, 2009 20:21:08 | ((Should've gone with a sniper rifle...![]() I'm still going with A.)) |
| #241ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 20:26:21 | ((Pig, we've already made that choice. :P)) |
| #242pigknightJun 22, 2009 20:27:34 | ((So are we on the roof?)) |
| #243ArmisaelJun 22, 2009 20:36:40 | ((Nope, the second floor.)) |
| #244half_dragon_infernalJun 23, 2009 18:44:30 | "We should try to sneak around the zombies, there are too many to fight through. We couldn't even handle 6, let alone 36" |
| #245pigknightJun 28, 2009 12:41:43 | "Anyone have an idea?" |
| #246ranadielJun 28, 2009 14:49:21 | "We could continue staying perfectly still as we have been. It looks like these zombies see based on vision." ((:P )) |
| #247ArmisaelJun 28, 2009 14:59:15 | ((Urge to go Fighting Fantasy on you and make every single choice a dick move, besides a certain predetermined path rising... :P)) |
