Question about staffs

I found the formula for the base price of a wand with any spell you want on it (spell level x caster level x 750gp) but I want to put spells higher than forth level into my items but the only way I can do that is make a staff. So I wanted to know if there is a formula for making staffs.

If you find it post it here. Thanks

Umm ... try posting in Previous editions General.  This is the Off-Topic Tavern.  The 'topic' around these boards is D&D.  So this isn't the best place to seek help of this nature.  Not sayin' you won't find it, but you're much more likely to find it in Prev Ed Gen.

Listen pal.  I'm telling you that you posted your question in a place that will not likely find an answer for you.  Instead of just saying 'hey dummy, you posted your question in the wrong place', I actually told you the best place for you to go and find it.  So stow the attitude, sally.  A li'l thanks would be much better than the garbage you just double-posted.  Normally I'm pretty nice to people with questions.  When those people refuse to use the help I give 'em and jump all over me for helping, though, it tends to grate on the nerves.  Since you obviously failed to comprehend my simple message in my first response, I'll endeavor to enlighten you once more:

This forum is not used to answer D&D questions.  It's for off-topic discussions.  As the overall topic of the forums is D&D, this is - very obviously - the wrong place to look for a D&D rules question.  I'd have referred you to the Rules Q&A forums, but you're not asking a question about the current edition of D&D (4e).  You are asking about a Previous Edition.  The best place to look for an answer, then, is Previous Editions General.  So I did answer your question in the best way I could - considering I'm not a Prev Ed General regular, ace.  That you aren't capable of seeing that isn't my problem.  It's yours.  Anyhoo, hope I helped.

The topic of these boards are stuff like: "What do you put on your waffles?" and "Albino chicks: Hot? Y/N?"

I don't eat waffles.

Albino chicks hot?  Hells to the yes, son!  Hells to the yes.  Not the best beach material, though.

I like to put what amounts to a banana split on my waffles (with extra chocolate stuff). Or more accurately, I go to places which make them like that... mmmmmmm

Pale chicks are definately hot; not sure about albino ones. Any sample pictures?

I, too, vote for pics.  'Specially if they're pics of albino chicks with waffles.  I'm in an odd mood.  I also vote that we all double post everything we post in this thread from now on.

... I'm sorry that you're too lazy to check the back of your 3.0 or 3.5 DMG and look at the section on pricing magic items yourself?  I mean, that's all anyone would be doing, ya know?  It's all laid out bare after the pre-made magic items are described.  The 3.5 one especially goes into pretty good detail on just how to price magic items and what is or isn't appropriate for what slot, why certain things get a discount, and so-on.

That said, you got a good answer: that you'd probably have better luck elsewhere.  I mean really, you're asking the Off-Topic Tavern a magic item question from a previous edition.   What in the blazes made you think this was your best chance?  Frankly, while the previous editions board might be the better bet, you'd probably still have better luck in D&D General or the magic items board.

All that aside... you're hearing us?  Hows that text-to-voice software working for you?  The voices always sound stilted and wrong, never having the right cadence.  Throw in the typos so prevalent in most forums and I would imagine the experience of listening to our banter (witty or otherwise) would just be annoying and grate on the nerves, ya know?  But 'eh, whatever lifts your luggage, no?

Awww.  I hate you too.  *huggles*

P.S.: The answer you're looking for is on the same page as the other formula (v3.5 DMG pg 284).  It's 4.25 inches from the left edge of the page and 3.25 inches from the top of the page.

Now give us another huggles R-tard.

Psh.  Orchid could get over 100.

Cinder was the easiest to play, I really liked TJ Combo - and I was great with him but Fulgore was my fave.  Too bad all my friends stopped playin by the time I got around to bein' awesome with him.  They don't make fight games like that no more.  KI and EC were the best evah.

Whatever dood.  I done tried twice to help you and you still would rather throw up insults than use the advice given.  That's signs of serious trouble, you know?  I'd tell you to seek help, but you'd probably just wind up murdering the shrink or something.  Anyhoo, one more try: This ain't the place to get a question of that sort answered.  I told you twice now where you can get that answer and I won't tell you again.  Other people have told you how to help yourself, too.  So quit cryin'.  You got more than should be expected out of a forum wholly unrelated to the question you asked.

I never played Gold.  Only the original.  We had two uber combos figured out for Orchid that were not exactly easy to do.  You had to key a serious chain to pull it off, but it was for over 100 hits.  Wonderful stuff, that.  I just didn't like her as much as Fulgore, though.  That thing was cool lookin' and had cool lookin' powers, too.

EC is Eternal Champions.  It was a great fight game for Sega from back in the day.  Just a neat-o game with stuff like stage deaths - if you killed someone in a certain spot on the screen at a certain time, the scene would finish them (in one, a helicopter flew in and shot 'em, another you toss them into a sign and electrocute them - stuff like that).  It also had a power bar thing (shaped as a yin/yang symbol) so that you could only do certain moves when charged to certain levels.  They also had a neato option when you were playing PvP, too, that was a danger room thing.  You could set all sorts of stage hazards and then do battle there.  Oh, it also had insults.  Cool stuff.

I guess my tastes would be considered more classic. Stuff like Street Fighter, Tekken, Capcom/SNK, Fatal Fury... man those were fun games. I don't play any of them nearly as much. I tried to get into SF4, but couldn't. Its just so difficult when you don't have someone who'll obsess. My brothers and I used to dial up the ridicilous rules and smack talk... but I guess I can't really do that with the wife =P

Yeah, SF was ok and Tekken was awesome.  EC, though, was just so different it was cool.  It also was a lot of fun on its own.  Oh, I also liked Bushido Blade.  In that game, if you got hit in the head with a sword, you died.  Instantly.  Made one on one combat a whole different animal than most fight games.  For that, it was really cool.  Oh!  Also liked Cardinal Syn a lot, too.
