R.A. Salvatore recommendation?

I have two credits on my Audible account and I was looking at the R. A. Salvatore books:

I am not sure where to start, so I was hoping for a recommendation. I have never read any Forgotten Realms books, but I figured it did not matter with his novels.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dark Elf trilogy

   1. Homeland (1990)
   2. Exile (1990)
   3. Sojourn (1991)

Icewind Dale trilogy

   1. The Crystal Shard (1988)
   2. Streams of Silver (1989)
   3. The Halfling's Gem (1990)

That is the chronological order.   The Dark Elf trilogy covers his birth, his early years as a child, and his time roaming the underdark before he left for the surfact. The Icewind Dale Trilogy is where he made his debut as a character and covers his early adventures with Bruenor, Regis, and Wulfgar.

You do not need to read them in that order but I find that it is best to do so. It gives a good background to the character and gives you more depth and understanding.

It appears, however, that neither trilogy is an option for you. In that case I would probably shop around for something else.

I have a job that can sometimes be mindless and allows me to listen to things while I am building ads, archiving things, ect. so I like to listen to books while I am doing that.
