But D&D, my fish tank, Football and Racing once again stopped me cold from my own (probably vain without a Racing wheel) efforts at improving at Nurburgring. First up this weekend, in the racing scene was Formula 1. (I don't watch the GP2 races.... I don't like getting up -that early-) First race at Abu Dhabi. Quite possibly the world's best race track ever conceived. It's fast, and it's slow, it's very wide, and incredibly safe with a ton of emergency run off areas. (If you are wondering what a Run Off area is, instead of just mindlessly blowing into a wall like you do in Nascar if you over cook the turn, there's area for you to get your ass stopped, before you plaster into a wall) The track is sexy, in that it has some of the best archetecture I've ever seen with the hotel being -on site-. Ya'll need to google search and look at it. Just incredible. Period. www.autospies.com/images/users/rybo/abu_... The Racing for this debut event, was spectacular, with spin outs, but no safety car periods and alot of passes which were safe but hard fought. F1 cars do passing, and they do it very well here. This race did everything right and it was in no small part to this track being phenominal. Vettel Won, Mark Webber came second making it a Redbull 1 2 finish. And what drives they put out. The japanese Rookie Kobayashi did very well for himself, proving his debut race wasn't a fluke. Expect great things from him and Toyota next year. Then I loaded up Forza 2, and let my Drivatar do the work for me while I cleaned my fish tank. After that was football. I did watch snippets of Talledega (snore fest). I hate Nascar, it's no secret. But this? this is the worst gawd awful race I have ever watched. Glad I had football to watch. I don't know who won, no I don't care. It's a damning to the fabric of racing the race was so DULL. The COT sucks, it always will. Rules Bodies are not Engineers. They should stay away from the Engineers jobs. Take the plates off, do actual research and let the car technology advance past 1978 already. The cars won't fly around if they have real downforce. And the racing will be better, if they are allowed to mess with aerodynamics. The Tallageda race this weekend sums up Nascar perfectly and why everyone should actively stay away from it. Drag Racing came on later, which I watched between watching the Red Bull Air Racing. Yes it's racing. With Airplanes. And yes it's awesome. Drag Racing was entertaining as usual, lots of cars exploding smoking the tires etc.
