Rake's Versus Thread #11: Original Power Rangers vs. Star Fox Team

Feb 12, 2009 12:57:02 Okay, by Original Power Rangers I mean Jason's original team. Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, and Pink rangers. No Green ranger! Zordon / Alpha on intercom if it helps.

By Star Fox Team I mean Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare, Slippy Toad, and Falco Lombardi. No Krystal / support characters. General Pepper / R.O.B. on intercom if it helps.

Battle takes place in the city. Angel Grove is fine, but no interference from Rita. Air-to-ground Arwing assault by Star Fox Team. If you want to account for Star Fox Team's mothership, scale it down to SSB size (since the size is inconsistent in just about every game). Megazord-sized, in other words.

I'll reserve my initial feelings about this match except to say that overall, I think it's fair.

Feb 12, 2009 13:08:51 Fox's team crushes the rangers. I mean, the Arwings are WAY better than anything the rangers can bring, and if they can damage the megazord, they've got the fight in the bag.

Now, on a mano-a-mano fight, I'd think Fox's team would win...but it would be close. Really close. Slippy would bite it (hopefully), and Peppy might too, but Fox and Falco are probably better fighters than the Rangers.

while the zords do have access to lasers, they're not known for being graceful. the arwings however...

-pink ranger will drop first as she's the only aerial one they've got and poses most threat
-yellow tiger will fall next as it's got some agility and a laser. it might walljump off a building and take down an arwing to ground level
-blue will go next as he's got a laser and hookshot horns. slower then yellow, but still able to take an arwing to ground level. also contains the brains.
-red will fall 4th as it's got a prehensile tail (only dangerous in melee) and eye laser. keep out of reach and keep moving.
-black zord will be last. big, slow mastodon that can only freeze land enemies poses no threat

rangers winning depends on either lucky/VERY calculated laser shots and a mix of yellow & blue able to drag an arwing down to ground level so it can be frozen & stomped to oblivion. should they be able to somehow form the megazord, they will stand a much better chance.

if the mothership joins the battle, it's probably a no-contest against a non-megazord rangers.
