| #1rakeFeb 09, 2009 11:25:02 | Appealing to a smaller demographic for this match: fans of both Venture Bros. (Brock Sampson, bodyguard for hire) and Cowboy Bebop (Spike Spiegel, galactic bounty hunter). No ship for Spike, and no Venture tech for Brock. Both fighters can be assumed to have firearms (and knives, for Brock) equipped. Combatants fight in a neutral area with variable terrain and high ground. For example: an abandoned spaceship, or a functioning biodome. Before anyone just says "Spike wins", remember that Sampson has killed a man with his bare buttcheeks. While tied up. And go! |
| #2rakeFeb 09, 2009 14:39:54 | No love for VB and Bebop? Going once... going twice... |
| #3zombie_babiesFeb 09, 2009 14:47:57 | I'll play. As much as I like Bebop (the only anime I actually enjoy, really), I must give this one to Brock. The reason? His show is just better. It really is. I know it's kind of a lame answer, but Venture Bros is the better show and that's enough to give Brock the win, IMO. That and Spike is scrawny in comparison. ;) :P |
| #4rakeFeb 09, 2009 15:05:06 | Spike is a better fighter. It's hard to top 'killed a man with his bare buttcheeks', though. |
| #5zombie_babiesFeb 09, 2009 15:10:37 | And Brock has that hair! What fantastic hair ... wha? ... :D |
| #6dirtyfrankFeb 09, 2009 15:26:50 | This one is easy. Brock Sampson can kick everyone's ass. I'm even sure Brock Sampson could kick superman's ass because he happens to be that cool. :P |
| #7zombie_babiesFeb 09, 2009 15:28:04 | More importantly, Brock Samson can kick Brock Samson's ass. Who else can say that? |
| #8dirtyfrankFeb 09, 2009 15:31:03 | Remember the rule of cool. If something is cool then it's allowed and there is nothing er than Brock Sampson so Brock Sampson always wins every fight he's in unless of course there is a plot device reason to keep him from winning. |
| #9zombie_babiesFeb 09, 2009 15:37:53 | Spike is cool, too. Just not nearly as cool as Brock. Brock is cool. Like actually is cool. Like if you looked up cool someplace, Brock would like totally be there. Cuz he is cool. Not cold or chilly. Cool. I would explain what I mean by cool, but to do so I'd just say "you know, like Brock Samson" and I'm not sure that'd be, like, helpful here. And it really is just saying "cool is cool" - which is true but not terribly informative. |
| #10baneofelvesFeb 09, 2009 16:28:55 | Brock Sampson is the winner. He's just too awesome to lose. (unless his foe has plot armor) |
| #11dirtyfrankFeb 09, 2009 16:30:35 | Brock Sampson is the winner. He's just too awesome to lose. (unless his foe has plot armor) Even then he doesn't die/lose. What happens is that his enemy gets away before he can kill them. |
| #12baneofelvesFeb 09, 2009 16:35:53 | Honestly, I don't think that this is even a fight. It's just Spike getting the tar beaten out of him. |
| #13joni-sanFeb 10, 2009 6:32:58 | Not having seen that other show I'll go with Spike Spiegel. -Joni |
| #14oxybeFeb 10, 2009 8:06:17 | this is how it's going to go: -brock meets spike -brock beats up spike -dr.venture clones spike just for ***** and giggles -brock beats up clone -new clone, it gets beaten up -repeat a few times until brock finds himself a sexy spy lady to shag -no more clones., fight over. -doctor makes a funny quip, everyone laughs. the monarch's pants fall down. |
| #15crimson_lancerFeb 10, 2009 8:46:22 | Yeah...gonna have to disagree on this one. Spike Spiegel's fought (and survived) against people far more disgustingly cruel, powerful, and dangerous than Brock Samson, including guys who are practically immortal. Now, I won't go and immediately say Spike would win (he does end up getting his ass kicked in 90% of these types of fights, after all), I'm just saying Spike has the experience to have a fighting chance. Brock would more than likely completely underestimate Spike, and then he might have a chance simply due to the element of surprise and a decent nut-shot or something. ![]() Nonetheless, even if Spike lost, he wouldn't die. Only Plot can actually kill Spike Spiegel. :D |
| #16viktor_von_doomFeb 10, 2009 14:09:48 | Gotta give it to Spike, even if he ends up dieing he'll take Brock out first and end it all with a *Bang* |
| #17ixien_kotharFeb 10, 2009 14:11:53 | As long as they both die in the end, I'll be happy. |
| #18dirtyfrankFeb 10, 2009 14:15:56 | Spike is cool but not as cool as Brock. Also if Brock was in Spikes place he would be banging Faye every night. Heck, she'd be asking him for more. ;) Spike seems to get lucky more than not. Brock just seems to kick ass left and right. |
| #19m-barkFeb 10, 2009 14:19:33 | Who in the fridge is Brock Sampson? |
| #20dirtyfrankFeb 10, 2009 14:28:28 | |
| #211_ton_ghostFeb 10, 2009 14:51:08 | Who in the fridge is Brock Sampson? He's Dr. Venture's "Swedish murder machine". He likes Zepplin (not jock rock), muscle cars, full flavored smokes, and Eastern blok agent provacateurs. Okay, moving on... Uh, well, Brock is specifically trained to kill/maim/spy/protect per his license, while Spike is an ex yakuza goon w/ more street credentials and savvy. Both are pretty ruthless and tough as nails in comical fashion. Not afraid to take cheap shots and "win" regardless. However, Brock has a limited code of honor and Spike is pretty much your scoundrel's scoundrel. Han Solo has got nothing on him. Still, smart money is probably on Brock as that's all he does, period. Spike is no puppy dog, but he's more well rounded in innuendo and intrigue, ferreting out crazy stuff and all. Brock just brute forces everything usually. |
| #22viktor_von_doomFeb 10, 2009 22:26:29 | Who in the fridge is Brock Sampson? One of the single most overrated characters ever (And this is from a fan of the guy). |
| #23boj0Feb 11, 2009 8:49:47 | Brock Mother Samson |
| #24rakeFeb 11, 2009 9:18:10 | I tend to agree with the majority on this match. Spike is damn good, but also damn lucky, and damn cocky. I can just see him shooting Brock in the chest, watching him collapse into a couple of trash cans in some back alley, and assuming he's dead. As Spike walks away, whistling... hands in pockets... a gore-streaked, bare-chested Brock rises up from the shadows behind Spike, a knife in his teeth, and breaks Spike's neck with his bare hands. |
