Me, I like rangers. In 3.x, they were mostly warriors (baneofelves, I can't imagine even an exalted NG ranger saying that c..p about flowers), but with a bit of a woodsman twist. If you stare at nature long enough, nature stares back at you - that's what rangers are about, and I think that quote would look much better on their banner.

I don't know about baby-talking, but I really like the villains that are so horrible it sends a shudder up your spine. Of course, they are best in moderation, or else your whole campaign turns into a nihlistic horrorfest. But having the big villain behind all of the nastiest you've been encountering over the entire campaign be someone with some kind of weird pychosis makes it that much creepier when the players are fighting him and that much more satisfying when they defeat him.

I played in a game like that once, but it was sadly limited because it took place in a public comic shop and my dad was closeby. I described it in the Gamer Hell thread, but when we were being tortured, the DM was a little embarrassed to describe my character being naked because of the proximity of my dad. :D

I find that horror games are best used as a change of pace in a campaign, if all villains are so horrible and depraved, you get immunized, and have to go further for the shock effect, and may end up offending someone.

That's pretty much my take on it. But if you're playing with a group that just isn't offended by anything, you can go pretty far. :D

Not technically. In 3e, you need to be a ranger or druid to actually converse with animals, and you need to have the track feat, which is free for rangers, to track things. So tracking isn't restricted to rangers, but it is easier for them.

I've stumbled upon a few Batman/Joker fanfics and they're not pretty.

There have been a couple of mislabeled fanfictions I've read that really needed to have a strong warning of "This contains SLASH". If you're talking about fanfiction, yes I read some, but most of it sucks. I've been lucky enough to come across one really good one and a few decent ones, but the vast majority of it is awful.

Generally it's people who don't know what the heck they are talking about making the Joker obsessed with and submissive to Batman. Most of them are written by Heath Ledger fangirls. I didn't like The Dark Knight. It could be that I had high expectations for it between my friends hyping it and it's name being similar to Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, but it didn't meet my expectations. I thought that Heath Ledger was more annoying than cool, and Christian Bale just doesn't seem like Batman to me. I do like Michael Kaine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman in the movies, but it didn't save TDK. Batman Begins was pretty good, but I still like Batman Forever the best of all the Batman movies I've seen.
Ah well. To each their own.

Just one thing. I was wondering what Kronos was doing while Bane was throwing stuff at him. It kind of seemed like he didn't really fight back. Maybe try to visualize the fight as you're writing so no one hogs the action too much.
But I will take that into consideration.

It's one of those scenario's where it is easy to say that the character has every right to be bad, even though you condemn him for it. In reality, I don't think that anything justifies turning to evil, but Bane is a good example of a sympathetic anti-hero/villain.

I like it. You're good at describing things, which is what I like about many of the authors that write for WotC. You're also a lot better at dialogue than I am. I'm not a very good conversationalist and it tends to affect my ability to write dialogue.
