I actually let a player play a vampire fighter with a +2 LA... yeah :P .

Jan 12, 2009 15:07:20 I tend to know most of the rules inside and out, but that is because I feel a bit more comfortable knowing the rules. The sad thing is that this sometimes causes me to be a rules lawyer. I'm a good own though. I don't say "this is what the rules say, so ha ha ha" or use them to gain advantages. I just know them just encase they are needed. I am more like "This is what the rule is, so are we going by the book or house ruling?"

I thought it was funny when I played my first session of 4e D&D. It wasn't so much as play as character creation. I had waited about a month after 4e had started so that the players could get the books and read through them. So on the first session we are making characters and I think only 1 person out of 7 (not including me cuz I'm DM) added Con score. Everyone assumed that it was Con modifier. They had the books open in front of them and nobody bothered to even try reading them.
