I noticed a thread had devolved into name calling. Do we really have to be rude, discourteous, and offensive every time we debate?
Also, telling someone that they can't say three words without being rude to people, even if it's "true", is just as mean and offensive as the original act.
"How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Sorry for the biblical quote, but I felt it was appropriate.

Talking about moderation is against the CoC...
So don't be surprised if this thread gets locked down.

And sometimes one has to call someone else a racist.

No, you don't.

I believe that, as I have said before, civilized people can disagree without being disagreeable. And yes, I know that I too violate that very tenet. We're none of us perfect, but we can all try.

I was looking for that quote about a month ago in relation to something on here! Thank you!

And fsjal, what I said to boraxe, while it is easy to argue that it was rude, was not hypocritical. For that I would have needed to imply that I myself was not rude, which, as far as I can recall, I have not.
