| #4LFKFeb 01, 2012 10:46:13 | Why am I under the impression you remake him for every vid. Is it an OCD thing? This is only the second from-scratch Foldy that I've built. The original Foldy was slowly modified over the first couple months, adding eyes, new glasses, and the electronics, but he's in really, really rough shape. Masking tape degrades pretty quickly and it was getting to the point where I'd have to re-attach some part or another after every take. So it's not really OCD as much as it's something I've been meaning to do for a couple months now. I wonder at what point will you employ a second person to operate Foldy and make him a full blown muppet. Maybe in some distant future, but for now it's pretty much just me. Possibly the next Foldy will be a hand-and-rod puppet, but only if I can find a way to make it work while keeping the semi-mechanical design. Also, a question: should I make a covering for the neck rods, or is it kinda cool that you can see them? |
