#4 zombie_babies Apr 22, 2011 15:02:24	Something about a police unit noted for violent response having its members seen publicly consuming alcohol while armed being bad for PR is likely at fault here.  EDIT: They're allowed one beer.  That they're only drinking one beer is not something easily determined.  They're also allowed that one beer with their lunch.  The fact that they were spotted drinking while riot busting is kind of an example of abuse of the privilege, no?
#5 bone_naga Apr 22, 2011 16:45:31	I'd also hazard a guess that most armed officials in developed countries are not allowed to drink at all while on duty. And that's the key, this is drinking on duty. They aren't being told they can't drink at home or whatever.
