Well, it's not really a robot (more a mechanical aid,) but it's a step in the right direction. Besides, I've always had a soft spot for cats.

The video and the article conflict with each other, therefore the feline is genderless until proven otherwise.

The best thing they could have done for it is put it down.

That is incorrect. The best thing they could have done with it is make it a laboratory specimen.

You expect me to care what is best for an individual cat? The achievements that could be accomplished by subjecting it to scientific experimentations would be more beneficial than shuffling the feline off this mortal coil.

Yeah I have no idea what the real gender of the cat is. I don't think that putting it down is the best thing. The cat is happy and running around like a crazy cat how they are supposed to with the aid of the buggy. It doesn't need put down. It needs a home and love. :D

What it needs is participation in the genetic engineering experiment that I signed it up for yesterday.

It isn't 'running around'.  It's dragging it's disabled body around.  It can't do what cats do.  It's still in a sorry state and pretending otherwise doesn't make it somehow better.

Look, I am no lover of cats, but if the thing is functional and in no pain, let it live.

No.  We need to kill it to make it better.

Exactly. Animals can be disabled just like humans can be. As long as no one is dumping the cat outside to be abandoned then don't see why it needs to be killed.

Considering how much of the cat works, I would say it's a half-breed....
Get it?
Half...
