| #1echosaveDec 29, 2010 17:41:32 | I am looking for some advice on investing in a new RPG system, turning to the local throng of gamers for some possible suggestions. I have some extra influx of credit since my Christmas and Boxing Day bonus (not to mention my upcoming New Year's bonus!) and was interested in spending some of that dough on a new system to whet my whistle. Ultimately I like just about anything, from any genre. Currently I have sets for: D&D (3.5E-4E), 4E Pathfinder, new World of Darkness, Star Wars SAGA, and Shadowrun. The core products that I have been thinking of expanding into are: Legend of the Five Rings and/or Battletech - A Time of War. Other possiblities are: Anima - Beyond Fantasy, GURPS, Ex Machina, WitchCraft, Traveller, Warhammer 40, 000 Roleplay and Doctor Who - Adventures in Time And Space. I am, of course, interested to the hear the firsthand opinions of anyone who has played these games, or has other systems to suggest for view. Discuss these topics, and more, any way you wish. I appreciate any and all responses, since I am getting restless with all this extra influx and wish to expand my experiences in the tabletop RPG realm. |

The system also provides rules for building your own mechs. I can't count the hours my buddies and I have enjoyed together building custom mechs and then battlin' it out to the death. It really is a good game. |

Battletech is a system I've wanted to play for a long time, especially since I played the old Battletech/Mech games for the PC and console systems. I'll have to wait to order Bt:AToW, since it's currently sold out everywhere I go. I would like to peruse the game before I buy it though. Some great suggestions, keep 'em coming if you can. I have a wallet bursting to loose some weight. Help a piece of leather out! |

The idea of building and battling around in giant mechs, and mixing in with other military units and political intrigue, always sounded badass to me. Any extra information you could provide would be much appreciated! |
