We were clearing out some of our old storage junk today and I found an old deck of Russian playing cards. I just went through them and found out that from all four suits cards 2-5 are missing. I googled this situation and saw a link to someone who had a deck with identical missing cards, but the link was no good anymore, so I couldn't see if his question ever got answered. Does anyone here have any insights?

Communist propoganda! 2-5 are obviously anti-communist and were burned at the stake.

Don't some games use only card from a certain number and up? I thought it would be 9 though.
I never play cards so I don't know.

The 52 card deck we think of as standard is only one of several different types of decks.
Your deck is probably an 36 card deck: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playing_card

Wow! I never knew there were so many different kinds of decks! Thanks! Today I heard of a Russian game called Durak that uses a 36 card deck. Looks like I've got some new games to learn!
