It’s this Saturday. Just throwing that out there in case ya’ll didn’t know. “Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.”
I really want to go to one of my local shops in cosplay but I'm going to have to work D: |
| #2mistresszeldaMay 04, 2011 19:17:44 | I only get a half hour lunch break on weekends, and I have plans to be somewhere else that evening and in the morning too. Sad panda. I might just leave a little bit early and check it out =3 |
| #3zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 10:30:53 | What's a comic book? |
| #4EscherEnigmaMay 05, 2011 10:40:08 | Sadly I have to work Saturday and as the closest comic book shop is a day trip away, I'm SOL. |
| #5zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 11:41:01 | Oh, then I should probably get some of those. For ... uhh ... research. Too bad I too will be busy all day Saturday. CCW classes, you see. Oh well. One less dead tree, right? |
| #6zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 11:48:57 | Nope. Er, we will likely be using paper targets, though. Oh well, **** trees. |
| #7jesse.two.coinsMay 05, 2011 12:02:12 | Trees, whales, and ecologists can kiss my ass. wow! you ARE american ![]() on a side note, what weapon are you gonna be using ZB? |
| #8zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 12:03:42 | Trees, whales, and ecologists can kiss my ass. Yeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaww good buddy! on a side note, what weapon are you gonna be using ZB? For the test, a Ruger Single Six. For carry, a Glock 27. |
| #9jesse.two.coinsMay 05, 2011 13:08:04 | smart I do my pistol practice with a Mark III hunter |
| #10zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 13:33:15 | Yeah, when my dad did his class there were a bunch of guys firing compact .45s. They fell apart toward the end cuz the guns they used kicked the ever livin' crap out of 'em. I'll do the test with a .22 and then shoot the hell out of the .40 later, ya know? It's brand new so it does need to be broken in. |
| #11jesse.two.coinsMay 05, 2011 13:50:36 | well its been proven that only using one type of pistol is effective for getting alot better, however, just to get the permit or getting used to gunfire a .22 lr is ideal. |
| #12zombie_babiesMay 05, 2011 14:07:54 | That's the plan. Use the .22 to get it and then practice the hell out of the .40. I'm no stranger to pistols and own a few. I even hunt with them. So, for me, the matter of using a .22 to take the test is one of convenience. Once it's done, though, I plan on runnin' a few hundred rounds through the ol' Glock at a friend's place. Much less restrictive than firing at a range, you know? That's what my dad did. He qualified, got the permit and then we went and fired pistols all day. He shot a lot after that, too, but just that one afternoon he personally put around 300 rounds through his carry weapon. Gotta take learnin' your carry piece seriously and I do. To me, that sure beats the hell out of the guy that tests with his carry gun and stops shootin' it. |
