would turn undead work on it?

Schrodinger's cat is in a state of quantum flux.  All effects work and don't work simultaneously.

not really - no.  Although in flux - it hasn't been animated.  It is not (classically) in the "undead" state.

turn undead needs line of sight, by the time you have line of sight the cat it's either alive or dead

Flux means that a eddy of unnoticed necromantic energy could have coalesced in the box and raised the cat.  It might be dead, it might be alive and it could very well be undead.

To be honest it might also have been chosen by a dark lord to be a leader of a demonic cult and handmaiden of the rebirth of a dark god or elder one onto the prime material plane.

The cat isn't in a binary flux in a D&D world.

Until you know what state the Cat is in, Turn Undead won't fly. Raise Dead might change the state of the cat, however, and reduce the chance that it is, in fact, dead.

No - you'd have to change the initial experiment.  GH put it more succinctly.  There would need to be an external agent (eddy of necromantic doesn't cut it - at least not for my world, and definitely not by raw).  When the external agent makes the observation, the flux (from the setup) ends.

It depends. Of course in the thought experiment the cat is not a cut but instead a particle so technically it's more of asking 'will turn undead work on a particle'. The big question is more of what method would you use to interpret the theory.

Copenhagen Interpretation: The cat is always in a state of flux and basically in both states until it is observed. Only when it is observed can it be determined to be alive or dead. At which point you could determine if it could be raised or not.

Many-Worlds Interpretation: When the box is opened (observation is made) two realities are formed in which one consists of the cat being dead and the other of the cat being alive. So you could raise dead if you the observer where in the reality of the cat being dead. Now if you were the original observer then you'd be in both realities.

Ensemble Interpretation: Ya need more than one cat experiment cuz the wave function doesn't apply to one individual system but to an ensemble of systems. In which case this question would be deemed silly and pointless.

Relational Interpretation: Each thing in the system is an observer and can experience different things and interpret them differently. It's not until the box is opened and all observers have the same info can the state of the cat be determined.

Objective Collapse Theory: Superpositions destroy each other when a physical threshold is reached. At which point the cat would be in a definite state long before the box is opened.

So depending on how you look at it the answer is yes, no, maybe or this is a dumb question.
Now you're asking about turn undead. No matter the outcome the cat is either dead or alive. In no case is the cat undead. So no it would not work. Now one could reason that in a D&D world the cat could could go from being dead to being undead while still being dead and alive. In which case the answer, depending on interpretation, yes, no, maybe and this is a dumb question.

No.  Shrodinger's Cat is both alive and dead.  Undead are /neither/ alive nor dead.

turn undead won't work. Why? Because it's not undead, just maybe-dead.

hmm...the only real question is whether I should custom build Schrodinger's Cat into a monster or a wizard's power.

*concept Yoink!*
