Batman: Arkham Asylum and Champions Online are both scheduled to release on Sept 1st! Anyone been waiting on either of these titles? It's going to be a happy day for gamer-fans of the superhero genre.

Haven't heard anything about either.

Champions I might give a try if it works on my computer.
What I'm *really* excited for is Red Faction Guerilla, which comes out June 2/5. That's going to eat up some hours.

Nope. I don't believe in Batman games, and I generally don't enjoy Online games unless they catch my interest right away; which this particular game (Champions) did not. *shrug*

I am looking forward to the Batman game. I read about it in Game Informer, and it looks cool.

... And now I just read in GI that Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Arleen Sorkin are doing the voices for Batman, the Joker, and Harley Quinn.

I am looking forward to it more! :D

I thought this thread was going to be about WWII.
I don't really care for either of these games - I don't have sufficient hardware to run them.

Batman will be on consoles, if that's any consolation.

Mark Hamill is doing the Joker? Awesome sauce. He was incredible in the animated series. I've heard that to make the Joker's laugh different each and every time Mark would practice laughing while driving, which meant if you were driving down the street next to him you'd get to see some dude laughing like a maniac.

I would push the pedal if I saw that. Good thing I don't have license yet :P

For those of you not familiar, this was the same voice sets from the 1992 animated series.

I'll definitely pick it up to send to my husband. I don't think he knows it's supposed to be out so soon. I hope he's not watching for it - I'd love to surprise him with a Batman game!

I wish that I could be enraptured by this newest Batman game, the Bat is one of my favorite Hero's of all all time, but I gave up on Batman games over a decade ago. I have wormed myself into this belief that the Bat is forever doomed to cheesy, half-assed, mix'n'match attempts to simulate the reality of the Batman Universe. The trailers, and the demo's that I've seen draw mixed reviews from me, but ultimately I fall back to my old standby of "It's a Batman game, forget about it.".

I say give it a chance. It looks good to me, and seems to include the investigative aspects of the Detective. Of course, I usually wait for games I am unsure of to drop down in price before trying them out. If a game drops in price quickly, that's usually a bad sign.

But I am, as always, an optimist.

That's why they make these wonderful things called X boxes and Playstation 3s :P

Erm, from the page of the website itself, which I would consider the most official source:

OFFICIAL BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCEMENT

29-05-2009

It is with great pleasure that batmanarkhamasylum.com can reveal 2009's mostly hotly anticipated game will be available in North America on August 25th and throughout Europe and beyond on August 28th!

Let the countdown begin!

Yeah, like I could afford one of these, not to mention that usual game prices are 2-3 times higher than PC releases and hardly any of them is translated (which lowers the price even further). And there's no Xbox Live! or Home or any means to access the net via console, because console producers don't consider my country a market :P No, thank you.

Yes! And Paul Dini is behind the storyline. It'll be like playing a really awesome episode of the series.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on this. : /

Me: You mean you are giving the batarang to him as a gift?

KGM: No by "for him" I meant he is the target I'll be throwing it at. He made fun of my hair.

Sadly, the Batarang is affixed to it's stand so it can't be thrown. : (
