Okay, I find this a little embarrassing, but I have to know...

... am I the only one who finds DnD really sexy? I don't just mean DnD players, but just the entire game seems to be a huge turn on for me.

I think it's something to do with the level of control the DM has over your character, but still.
Anyone else want to comment?

Umm. . . sexy? The game turns you on. . . does not compute. does not compute. *head explodes* Ok, I'll be serious now. Some people I know are like you in that respect. I'm not like that, but I don't think it's anything to be worried about

Hey, whatever gets your juices flowin. Nothin' wrong with that.

Just curious-- is there anything in particular that turns you on? Just the control your DM has over your character?

MASOCHIST!! :P (ain't nothin' wrong with that)

I have found some times, but only when playing with members of the other sex...YMMV

You seem like the type of person who'd get a kick out of the BoEF.
Is there anything other then the DM control that gives you a tingle in the spine or is it just possible latent masochistic tendencies? (I know repeated over and over but it is a valid question)

I'm not a fake! lol I just only decided to sign up to post this...

I really have no idea what it is. I think it's a combination of the level of control he has, plus the fact that he's lovely, my best mate, and unattainable.
But I did find it also when another guy in our group was discussing DMing in general with us, telling stories about his players before he moved to uni.

So it's probably just the control element.

On a side note: I'm just learning to play, and finally got my own dice and PHB today!

Well, I wish you the best on learning to play, but I heavily advise that you make sure to keep your gaming and intimate life separate. Many games have been broken because of that sort of drama (in fact, to a lesser extent that's happening to me now).

Again, best of luck.

Hmm... you know, now that I think about it, my wife always seems particularly attracted to me after we play D&D (I'm the DM).

it's a proven fact that DM's are more attractive to women. I think it has more to do with confidence level, and the allusions of power than to actual animal attraction.

Not so much.

Confidence? yes. DMs? No.

Is D&D sexy? ;)

It sure can be, at times, then at other times not at all, but I find it has mostly to do with the players and the situations.

The game in and of itself has no sexual connotations for me one way or the other.

In most of my gaming groups over the years, the roleplay does occasionally touch on sexual subjects, and those situations can be titilating. But most of our games focus on the action and the story, with only occasional sexual innuendo due to the pervs in the group. We also usually only have one girl in our group, something I'd like to remedy (as I think role play is much more fun and realistic with a more balanced mix than when the table is all guys.)

Well, I once wrote (not here) that the best way to die in a dungeon would be a Malcanthet/Glasya threesome, but it was meant to be a joke.

However, I will admit that I find Mialee immensely attractive. Well, the live-action one, anyway.

All in all, though, I've never found D&D in and of itself sexy, but hey, there are wierder things to be attracted to. I'm sure you could find rules for playing "Sexy D&D", but I REALLY don't want to go down that road.

My ex used to tell people that D&D made her hot. She was going on to a mutual friend that after a game, she was fired up.

I asked her why she never had sex with me after a game, or within a week after gaming?

She said that she was tired after the game and didn't want to have sex.

Later, I found out she was flirting with guys online instead of spending time with me.

D&D is a fun game, but not too much "sexy."

I think that sexy is too harsh of a word to describe D&D- I'd say more along the lines of Fantastic, or Mysterious, or something along those lines...

Agreed. I don't know if it's solely an American trait, but we do tend to be pretty indifferent. Unless someone cuts off part of their body to get amorous with the stump, it really wouldn't shock me. People are crazy. They just do that.

As for the OP, the game is not inherently sexual. I do feel charged up after a gaming session, but that is not a sexual thing; it's more like the endorphine high I get from fencing/martial arts. That being said, as long as you have an open-minded group of consenting gamers, there is no reason why people can't enjoy the kind of game where the pcs are sweaty and breathing hard out of combat as well.

@ Count Arioch the 28th, I am also sorry to hear that. Hopefully your next significant other will treat you much better than that.

I'll try, but it's going to be hard. See, I'm both trying to sketch up about four questlines before everyone is ready for the Living World campaign, and I'm also designing a system for a special fanservice game I'm going to make, and...well, it doesn't leave me with a lot of free time.

On the plus side, swine flu has caused my college AND job to let us out early...AND I get paid while everything's closed. So I have a lot of free time. "We/Might/Not/Come/Back/At/All..." *Pumps fist*

It certainly can be, it really depends on the playstyle of your group, as well as your own playstyle.

For example, I know that (as a guy) playing a female Vampire Muse really did something for me. In contrast, playing male heroes doesn't get me excited that way, in the least.

I'm playing a female Eladrin Artificier in my current campaign, and I intend to have a Disembodied Hand familiar that lunges itself at women's chests, lifts up skirts, etc. So I'll see how that goes. XD
