Jan 18, 2009 10:45:50 While finishing a long 3.5 campaign last night, I accidentally made a spoonerism before dying later in the evening in Castle Ravenloft.

I switched the K and Sh sounds when saying Keep on the Shadowfell and ended up saying something that sounded like Sheep on the Cattlefell. This brought to mind a D&D parity adventure with evil cattle barons and poor shepherds locked in a power struggle. (Of course, Ravenloft themes also worked its way into the discussion: giant sheep abominations and the like. )

So, this is kind of a twin topic thread.

I would like to hear some funny ideas for parity modules.

Also, funny examples (especially in an embaressing social context) of other spoonerisms would also be appreciated.

First ever D&D 3rd edition game session and I'm explaining some of the game mechanics to the group. As I'm describing Initiative, my wife starts laughing until she's crying and going into an asthma attack, the rest of us staring at her dumbly, unable to comprehend what's so funny.

You see, I had said, "Initiatve is your Dex modifier."

She heard, "Initiative is your *** on fire." *** = (rear end)

Unfortunately I had a typo: (from my irc logs)

I remember in middle school being hospitalized for being so suck...

"for being so suck"
I knew you sucked, but I didn't realize it was at critical levels
I would finish my story but I just pwned myself.

I have never lived that down.

Jan 19, 2009 19:38:49 I once ran a short (yet high level) Eberron campaign in which the players were elite generals, both arcane and martial, as well as patriots of the nation Breland. At one point, they tried to make a deal with the powerful lich queen Vol to save their kingdom. Keep in mind, each player was a powerful military tactician/leader:

(what I meant to say) Queen Vol: "I will spare Breland, in exchange for King Boranel."

(what I said... written phonetically) "I will spare Breland, in exchange for being colonel."
...to which the party promptly cried out, "Deal!"

Jan 19, 2009 19:53:58 Um...How many Sheep are on the Cattlefells? Are they graizing at the rate of three acres per sheep? Just how big are the Cattlefells? Are there bands of Peasants making off with the Sheep during the night?

I would, but I never really made stats for BBEG's and it plays much better and more dramatic in 4e.
