Uh, Netflix and Hulu.

Limited choice, and you usually don't get the current shows. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, Hulu and Netflix aren't going to be of any help.

Differerent strokes, different folks, all that jazz.

Netflix and Hulu are enough for my viewing habits.  I have enough of a backlog of TV shows I'm vaguely interested in (I didn't watch TV shows at all through the 00's) that I'm more then fine for now and the forseeable future.

I too use Netflix. Game of Thrones requires me to wait until it comes out on DVD (and I consider the quality worth supporting monetarily, which means piracy is out and I have no qualms with the cost of buying the DVD sets,) but seeing as I've read every book in A Song of Ice and Fire multiple times, I don't much mind waiting. Netflix can cover my desires with television and get a fair amount of the films I want, so I don't mind the selection. For everything else, there's public libraries.

The only thing TV exists for, is Football, F1, and Sports Car racing.
Anything else? Pft.
There is the Internet for that.
Mostly I watch stuff on Netflix. And since I haven't watched tv really all that much since 2002, I have plenty of shows that I can watch. Let alone movies, etc.

There's some shows my family and I make a point of watching together.  It's nice to be up to date with them but I don't see a real reason for it.  I mean, it's not like we talk to other people about what we watched, yanno?  Er, I guess my wife does and maybe the kid.  She's all into that Glee and Vampire Diaries and True Blood an' stuff.  Who knows what the kid watches besides South Park, Archer, Sunny and the League.  Oh, and Mythbusters.

You don't enjoy 27 different angles of the same group of dudes driving around in circles? Are you sure you're from Florida?

You know, NASCAR should throw those guys a curveball and really test their driving skills. They should make them back up and turn right once in a while.

Yeah, I'm from South Florida. where we consider cars making left turns part of traffic, not entertainment. We also have a lot of things to do. When we want to drink, we have plenty of clubs to do that at. Seriously, we have a lot to do to entertain ourselves. No need to sit around watching traffic.

If they were ever made to turn right, every single car would explode.

You do know what a Sports Car is right Squirrel?

it's not that Camry you drive.

Sports cars make right and left turns. At ludicrous speeds.

I know you're confused and scared. But it's okay. Also, you're from South Florida... which just happens to have Daytona "international'' Raceway.. the biggest Circle Track there is.
So I think what you're really trying to say is you love Nascar and left hand turns.

You guys created Nascrap. You guys showcase it every year, twice a year, and then have the nerve to call one of your events for Nascrap. "Speedweeks"

You guys are more Hillbanian than Georgians for cripe sake. You should be ashamed.

Here's some Sports Cars for you since you're so confused.
First race is the battle for the GT2 win at Laguna Seca.

Why would I want to learn about racing? That's boring. Why watch other people drive cars for entertainment when I can get into my car and drive to some place that is actually fun? We have plenty of things to do besides sitting down and watching other people do mundane activities.
Maybe you should get out more.

Same difference then as to what you drive

It's less than an hours drive away from you if traffic is being cooperative that's close enough to me ;)

I've seen Floridian traffic. You guys are lucky if you hit 20.
Let alone 100+
And you don't have roads. You have traffic jams and interstate.

See to me going out and getting smashed at a club is not fun. That's actually rather boring. I get 0 enjoyment out of being around people. Because people? (especially Floridian People) Yeah. They ain't worth what they were made from
I'd much rather have fun, by watching people in desirable cars dice up a track. Hell I have more fun looking at cars in Parking Lots, and going to car shows than I do being around People.

I have more fun tweaking my car, and helping it be on it's way to being able to trash a modern Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche, than I do being around People.  People by and large are boring, uninteresting shallow turd buckets. Cars on the other hand? They're fun to play with, they're fun to Drive, (assuming you drive a car that has an actual soul and not some boring 4 door mid size sedan).

You play videogames when you don't have the funds to do a track day

Get a better paying job.
It also keeps you from spending money on completely stupid stuff like 50 pairs of toe shoes for example.

Actually, they're $100.00. If you don't have funds for track day, you definitely won't be able to afford the toe-shoes.
To hell with quotes. It's only a matter of time before we crash the forum if I started using them again.

You sound lazy. That explains why you like sitting and watching traffic go in circles for hours.
Or people in their 20s. The only people that think "i should buy a Sentra" are people that have been demasculinated or have a baby on the way. So when is your girlie due HS?

Meh... I don't need a car to show my worth. I have enough going for me. But hey, have fun with your cool old car. It's a sign of being classy. ;)
So can mine. But I'm not a complete douchenozzle I don't make her drive to meet me somewhere for our dates

Of course you don't. You would have to desl with your social anxiety disorder in order to go on a date with her. Or do you make her pick you up instead since you constantly have to work on a junker?

50 pairs X 100 dollars. You could have bought a Vette for that kind of money

Dude, I'm an OTTer we're all lazy and unproductive.  Also your definition of Circle seems to be... Mathmatically Wrong.
Sure you do. That's why you spend 100 dollars for a pair of shoes, over and over and over again ;)

Actually champ my car will out last yours. Easily. It already has. I've not had to do any major work to it. Your lil boring sedan is going to have alot of miles to catch up to mine. And I go out on dates. Just not the go out to the club and deal with people that are completely devoid of brain activity kind of going out. Good luck with your defective from the factory CV axles, and every 50,000 needing a timing belt replacment service needy engine ;)

Actually I pick her up.

When I work on my car, it's for stuff I want to do to it. It's part of the hobby. I want stainless headers etc on back. the day I do get around to installing those parts I'll probably be also putting in the 383 stroker engine. I put Carbon Ceramic brakes on the car. But hey if you wanna buy into that Ricer Trash myth about chevy go right ahead. I'll gladly keep on rolling in my car, and smoking high priced exotics at the track on weekends, to say nothing of the violation poor little ricers get when they realize that ''old chevy'' just whipped their modded tuner's ass without trying

If I were to buy a Corvette, it would be a new one; not some old $5,000 used car. Really, why would I want to waste money on someone else's junk? If it was so great, they wouldn't be getting rid of it.
Dude, I'm an OTTer we're all lazy and unproductive.  Also your definition of Circle seems to be... Mathmatically Wrong.
Sure you do. That's why you spend 100 dollars for a pair of shoes, over and over and over again ;)

I'm quite productive. It's why I can afford to buy $100 shoes. What's your excuse for not being productive?
Actually champ my car will out last yours. Easily. It already has. I've not had to do any major work to it. Your lil boring sedan is going to have alot of miles to catch up to mine. I'm sure your car will outlast mine. I intend on getting a new one. When I get tired of that one, I'll buy another new car. But hey, if you enjoy driving around in an old, used, fixer-upper, have at it.
As for dates; you'd know there are other places to go if you got out more often.
Actually I pick her up.

Considering your social anxiety disorder, I doubt this.
When I work on my car, it's for stuff I want to do to it. It's part of the hobby. I want stainless headers etc on back. the day I do get around to installing those parts I'll probably be also putting in the 383 stroker engine. I put Carbon Ceramic brakes on the car.

Here's an idea for you. Get a job where you can fix cars up. You would get paid better.

That's funny. You think that I care about racing. That's very cute. Seriously, watching cars drrive in circles, and buying old junkers just to work on them and then pretend to be a racer isn't my thing. But hey, if it makes you feel like more of a man, you go right ahead and make fun of my car in a race. ;)

People get old. People start families, then their wives tell them it's time to give up the Vette, Trans Am, 3000GT, 300Z whatever. And then they have to sell it, and buy a boring family car.  You know the kind of car you own

Weather mostly. From about fall to spring, are my least productive months. I might enjoy tuning my car, but I don't enjoy doing it when it's cold.

By the time you've finished paying off your family car, I'll have long finished with mine And it won't be used anymore. By the way the previous owner of my car? he died. That's how mine wound up on the lot I bought the car from. Heart attack, very sad. My guess is the wife told him to give up the car

I think you need to reevaluate what a circle is.  And I don't do it to feel like a man. I do it because it's you know Fun. That thing you don't know how to have without getting plastered in a club. ;)

Actually it won't be. The New Vette will be slower, and it will have less miles on the warranty for the engine. Lrn2research

Sorry, I don't want any part of a class where beer drinkers are teachin.

Notice the other stuff on the list. Fishing's what you do later in the evening (because if you're going out to the lake do it right and make a full day out of it). Then you scale it, fillet it, add seasoning to taste and cook it.

Actually it won't be. The New Vette will be slower, and it will have less miles on the warranty for the engine. Lrn2research

Why do you care about the warranty? I thought you liked working on engines anyways? Wouldn't that just left you do whatever you wanted to it?
Sorry, I don't want any part of a class where beer drinkers are teachin.

You'd rather drink fermented potato juice? You are definitely a candidate for the intensive course.
Notice the other stuff on the list.

The only one you put on your list before fishing was boating. Not very impressive either.
Fishing's what you do later in the evening (because if you're going out to the lake do it right and make a full day out of it). Then you scale it, fillet it, add seasoning to taste and cook it.

It takes all day to catch a fish?

Sometimes.
Depends on how much beer is being drank.

I've gone "fishing" before just to drink by the river/ lake... never even put my line in the water... good times!

Every time I go fishing I catch a damn eel or one of the scumsuckers in the Westfield River... I hate eels. Nasty slimy little things.

Because if I'm buying a put together engine (which by the way it's cheaper to buy a Built Engine than to build one these days), I damn well want a warranty with all the effort involved in taking an engine in and out of a car.
Someone else is going to be sharing my pain there. Even if it's just financially.  I am still debating though on whether or not I'm just going to hop this engine up or not. It has Aluminum heads, and a roller cam. The stroker kit though to make this engine a 383 is within about 800 of buying the whole new engine though. And there's no way in hell I could hop up this engine, and stay under the cost difference between putting the stroker kit in this one, porting the heads, and buying a new roller higher performance camshaft, not and use quality parts anyway. And then I don't have the warranty option/safety net either.

Yes I would. Seriously, if you can buy it in a 24 pack it can't be good. Ever.

So you OTTered up and didn't read everything I did at the lake and just stopped at fishing. Gotcha.
It can, depending on what you're after, fishing conditions, what kind of company is around you at the time etc. Usually though I go for boating, water skiing, messin and clownin around on the beach. The fishing's what you do after everything else is done unless you're like planning a huge dinner party at the lake or something.

I thought you said Chevys were supposed to be great? Is that only for the old cars? I mean, why complain about the warranty if the car is built well enough to outlast the japanese cars?

I read it. I just figured you wrote them in order that you do them. Fishing was the second one; although, it doesn't really matter what order you do fishing in. It's still about as exciting as watching traffic go in circles.

It's about peace of mind, and economy. In this case it's cheaper for me to hit the 400 horse power, and 440+ft lbs of torque numbers by buying the crate engine. ..."window.parent.tinyMCE.get('post_content').onLoad.dispatch();" contenteditable="true" />The warranty for this engine that I'm eyeballing really is just a bonus though. Most power per dollar investment wise I can make when it comes to making the Vette even faster than it was stock, the 383 is the best way to go. It is also one of the easier things I can do, rather than having to triple check parts compatibility, and then using my engine building software to build a custom ground camshaft, specific head specifications etc, and then buying each part individually.

Now my previous car, the Firebird the more economical route, would have been for me to Supercharge or Turbocharge it given the engine's ludicrous durability, ease of upgrading and installation etc vs having to do a total K member swap, motor mount location changes, possible drive line angle adjustments to put the V8 in.

Says the guy wearing Toe shoes, and chuggin PBR

Ya figured wrong What you've never had home cooked fish before? The little bit of time spent is easily worth it. Providing the water you're fishing from isn't toxic or something. Oh right you live in Florida... of course it is

I think that a tiered approach would allow us to make the most money help the most people the best way.  We could also offer tests that would make us even more money from the morons help us find the right class for each individual prospective student.

#64

Dec 17, 2012 15:38:25
Hmm.  We'll probably have to interview folks to get a broad understanding of just how much trouble they're in.  We'll start with beer - cuz that's the easiest to see problems - and then move on from there.  I imagine some people won't make it past the first question or so.  Like, eventually you may need to ask people about cocktails and what they like.  Some people won't ever make it that far cuz they won't know what that word means.  It won't be easy but it will truly help people.

EDIT: it.  We'll just place 'em depending upon how much money they have.  The more they got, the more problems we gotta fix.

Though you got it wrong, again much like the fact you drink beer and smoke (and thus proving you have no taste and are a swill drinker) has gotten your standards of what tastes good wrong, down here it's Southerner. NC is the North of the South. Because all ''your''' people have come down here to you know, find good paying jobs, and good living conditions, rather than live in the only city that even comes close to mattering up there, which is a dirty crime riddled, diseased, roach infested carcass.

My state has the second biggest banking capital in the country in it. And 2 of the top ten fastest growing cities,  lots of tech jobs, and 3 stellar universities.

What does your state have? Oh right, Cleveland a dirty cesspool, that has no money no jobs, and an emigratting population who are fleeing like rats out of a burning building

Well, Cleveland has one of the top rated medical facilities in the world that's pioneered some fairly impressive techniques.  It's the place people from the south send their beloved relatives to get treatment ... er, they would if they could afford it.  Not the treatment, of course.  I'm talking about the bus trip.  ;)

Ohio is also home to several distinguished schools - the Ohio State University being only one.

I suppose, then, if you prefer things other than medicine and education it's pretty easy to beat Ohio.  As you're now a southerner, it makes plenty of sense that you'd prefer things other than those.  I imagine only dentistry places lower on your list than medicine and education.

Oh, and those banks, tech companies and schools you have?  Staffed by northerners.  Jus' sayin'.

Oh please no one goes by bus anywhere especially not to Cleveland. I've seen some of your so called ''hospitals''. I'd only send people up there to Die. The only reason you pioneered them is because your population is so worthless that the rest of the country has deemed the city a frankenstien zone.

OSU is the only one. Purdue? Joke now. Kent? LOL.

Hate to tell ya, but we've got several high end hospitals down here too. We're leaders in cancer research, and aids research for example.

And you've obviously never heard of the Cleveland Clinic.  Makes sense, though.  I mean, that'd take reading.

OSU is one among many.  And it's a state school.  We've got lots of good private schools including but not limited to John Carroll, Case Western and Baldwin Wallace.  Those are a few miles apart from each other, though.  And Purdue?  dood, your southern edumacation is in rare form.  Purdue is in Indiana ... which is a totally different state.

Light is for less calories - and taste.  I do believe most American 'beers' are lagers - and terrible representations, too.  I think some might be pilsners but I don't feel like checking.  Anything from a major brand will probably be terrible.  Some of our microbrews are reaching major status, though, and they can be pretty ok.  Anyhoo, I don't usually go for a lager or pils.  I like pale ales, India pale ales, white ales, wheat ales, some Marzens, some red ales, stouts, the occasional dortmunder (though I'm sorta burnt out), porters, about one amber lager, belgian wit, a hefeweizen, a barley wine, a pils and lager but they're both from Warsteiner, Stella (lager) is kinda ok and Estrella makes a decent pilsner.  Overall, though, you can see lagers and pilsners rate pretty low to me.  Not my style, really.  Ales are where it's at for the most part.  And by 'it' I mean flavor.  A light beer doesn't have that.  By 'that' I mean flavor.  ;)

For the most part the American major brands are all lagers and nothing else.

I can't really think of any major American brand that sells anything other than lagers. Most of the big names that sell Ales, stouts and porters are all still at micro brew status or only still fairly regional.

East coast has things like dog fish head and a few others I can't remember that can't really be found out on the west coast. The west coast has things like Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Rogue and a few others that are big on the west but probably can't be found much at all else where.

And something like Sierra Nevada isn't great ale, but they are getting bigger and bigger each year. My friends and I refer to them as the Bud of Ale. We will chug that stuff down, but pretty much most of all ale you can find at any micro brew is better. However, SN is much easier to come by and often is a bit cheaper.

And holy cow microbrews are popular out here on the west coast with lots more new ones popping up all the time. Not only do we got a microbrew pub/bar every block or so in sac, but most restaurants seem to also have most of their beer selection be microbrew stuff from around northern cali/west coast. Although that's how you know a food establishment is good. They server microbrew and no major domestic beer junk like bud or pbr. Same goes for bars/clubs.

You homesteaders are weird.  Americans are supposed to be nomads, dammit.

Yeah, but we're also supposed to murder all the people we find wherever we end up.  I'm fairly certain that part of our history is (mostly) over.  Grow up, brah.

No self-respecting Pole would drink American swill!
BTW, why do so many beers in USA have "Light" in their name? Does that mean those are lagers? Because to me it sounds like it'd be one of those tasteless beers for ladies

By 'that' I mean flavor.  ;)

PBR has it all baby!

My job is literally to design more effective ways to deliver unhealthy amounts of lead and other materials. I'm not so sure that part is over.

Fair point.  Have you seen bullet storm yet?  If not, check it out.  It's pretty friggin' cool.  I mean, it's probably not as cool as the stuff you can't talk to us about but, you know, we can actually talk about it.

For the most part the American major brands are all lagers and nothing else.

We get Sierra Nevada here, too.  All of their stuff.  SN is actually one of the best distributed microbrews there are.  And they make pretty ok stuff.

Just tried a really hoppy IPA last night.  Some microbrew from Colorado.  It was also a li'l sweet.  Overall, not bad.

If SN hasn't already done it I believe sometimes soon they are supposed to start selling their stuff in cans. It's gonna be weird chugging ale out of cans.

I knew SN was gettin big just wasn't sure how big they was.

Man, I don't like cans.  That IPA I had last night was in a can, though.  Wish I could remember the name cuz it was good but, you know, drinking.
