| #1bone_nagaNov 14, 2011 17:23:53 | That's about all I wanted to say. It's been sucking away all my free time since I picked it up on Friday. |
| #2ADHadhNov 14, 2011 17:27:10 | Sadly, not only yours. (no, not mine) Also: |
| #3bone_nagaNov 14, 2011 17:44:34 | That's actually a pretty good idea. |
| #4ADHadhNov 14, 2011 18:33:05 | You know what? Take a chunk of that region and put it floating in the sky and I might be interested ![]() Dragons and tundras? Been there, done that. |
| #5LFKNov 15, 2011 10:46:52 | My archer mage is cute, and I'm having a ton of fun. She's in full Exquisit Elven armor, but I found a shrine that ups my max carry load and gives the "armour weighs nothing" perk, so I might just go ahead and throw on some Orcish. The biggest temptation is starting over with a completely different character. I really want to try a Paladin style character, sword and board, heavy armour, Restoration, and buy a horse (my archer walks everywhere because I'm insane like that and enjoy mapping the world out.) Walking the road from Solitude to Markarth took up most of my evening last night. |
| #6WebsterNov 15, 2011 20:36:45 | Skyrim is fantastic. Best RPG on the console there is. And character creation/leveling is the best and most simple of all of them. Character creation- Pick a race, set how your avatar looks, name your characer. That's it. ![]() My wife hated Oblivion. I handed her the controller, and told her how easy it was to make a character. She was surprised. Not having to commit to a particular build, but just PLAY the game to build the character. She played a bit, and is now hooked. There have been quite a few games that were very good, but it's been a long time since I looked forward to getting home to play. This game is so good, I've been thinking about picking up all the DLC for it. I love finding new things and exploring. And there's STILL tons of stuff to discover, even though I've played quite a bit since getting it on release. Last night, walking along the road high up in the mountains, I came across TWO bears who instantly spotted me before I could run and hide. I did the only thing I could. I jumped off the mountain. (Yes, I survived.. Jumped from rock to rock all the way down.) |
| #7sfdragonNov 15, 2011 21:21:31 | I picked it up at midnight release for pc. yes yes its a great game. but you get to see him, in his mind no less and hes eating a picnic with a demented daedra. its just maddening... P.II |
| #8WebsterNov 15, 2011 21:27:33 | My archer mage is cute, and I'm having a ton of fun. She's in full Exquisit Elven armor, but I found a shrine that ups my max carry load and gives the "armour weighs nothing" perk, so I might just go ahead and throw on some Orcish. Sure you COULD start over, or you could just start playing differently. My wife wanted to start over to play a mage, and I suggested she just start playing as a mage. I didn't bother doing anything with archery, figuring that would be on my next character. Then I just started to use a bow 9Had an ice enchantment on it.) Now I'm getting better at archery, and I don't have to start all over. |
| #9LFKNov 16, 2011 0:22:34 | But then Krystle would be an archer mage paladin when that's Scarwood's job! Krystle is a sleight of frame, kindhearted busybody. Scarwood is a brash thickneck with a worldview that's so big picture many would consider it anarchy. Basically it's not just a different skill loadout that I want to try, I want to go about the game in a completely different way. Krystle's playing all sides. Scarwood's going to murder every last Stormcloak and Imperial he sees: he may be the Dragonborn, but he didn't come here to save you. |
| #10ADHadhNov 16, 2011 7:56:48 | Funny, when I played Morrowind (and a couple different RPGs as well) I've usually defaulted to the guy that helps people in need without regard for personal gain and then steals whatever's not nailed in when they aren't looking. |
| #11bone_nagaNov 16, 2011 16:06:05 | Last night I managed to arrange a fight between a dragon and a giant. It was pretty awesome to just sit back, let them go at it, and once they were both sufficiently worn down, I finished them both off from a distance with my bow. |
| #12WolfLordBranNov 17, 2011 11:16:33 | Edit: Removed for Lack of Reading Comprehension. Nothing to see here, move along.![]() |
| #13WolfLordBranNov 17, 2011 13:40:02 | DLC is downloadable content. So expansion packs and extras that they put out. Whoops! I read through fast and thought you asked "What is DLC?". I should probably double-check what I'm posting to. Sorry bout that. ![]() |
| #14draco1119Nov 17, 2011 13:49:41 | Today's Cracked features an article about Skyrim. I thought of this thread when I read it. (Warning: Contains some naughty language) |
| #15bone_nagaNov 17, 2011 21:54:20 | So I tried that trick for stealing a couple times and it doesn't seem to work. The pots and baskets either fall off, or if you get them to stay they suddenly go flying across the room. Maybe they already patched that? I did think it was weird that I had to download an update even though it was being installed on release day. The dual-wielding capability (especially being able to dual-wield magic or magic + weapon) is awesome. |
| #16shiningwolf88Nov 18, 2011 13:43:52 | Trying to figure out if this couple took their love of Skyrim a lil to far. Opinions? |
| #17ADHadhNov 18, 2011 14:03:03 | Trying to figure out if this couple took their love of Skyrim a lil to far. Well, Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda, tough that is a real name as well. There probably won't be a series featuring the same character tough, so the kid might have lucked out a bit. |
| #18Tevish_SzatNov 18, 2011 14:08:43 | It's not a bad sounding name, though quite odd. I'm willing to bet by the time the kid is in school, they'll have found a good nickname and nobody will remember where the full name is from. Not really any worse than the parents that give their kid a bonkers name because there's some odd scholarship out there for people with 3 Qs in their name. |
| #19zombie_babiesNov 18, 2011 15:07:48 | Kid: 'Mommy, why would you give me a name that kids make fun of me for? Was it someone important in our family that you named me after?' Mommy: 'No, D. We did it cuz we loves us some vidya games. Now suck it up and learn to take a punch like your namesake! And shut up while me an' daddy are playin' Elder Scrolls 7!' ![]() |
