| #1bone_nagaMar 22, 2012 20:10:30 | So I checked out the Smithsonian Art Museum to see their new video game exhibit. Has anyone else seen it? I thought it was pretty cool, lots of video game art, displays and descriptions of all the major gaming consoles (they should add handhelds, though), and some other interesting things. A lot of nostalgia in seeing some old games (including the old school Halo for atari) and they had some hooked up to giant screens that you could play (like Super Mario Bros, Pac Man, and The Secret of Monkey Island). I also happened to show up during a video game convention that was going on in the building and watched people do some Live Action Gaming. I was wondering if anyone else had been to the exhibit and what they thought. I know the idea of video games or games in general as art (as opposed to just the artwork in the games) is still debated so feel free to interject your opinions on that subject as well. |
