| #1The_SilverswordMay 01, 2011 2:00:06 | Linky Anybody hear about this? They just had a thing about it on the local news the other day, seems kinda stupid to me, its like free advertizing, ya know? People are gonna see that and be like well hell yeah get me some of that potpourri!! I know I am!!! Thank god for the media!!! Oh theres also some bath salts you can snort thats supposed to get you zooted, so ive been told, never tried it myself, i cant see snortin any kind of salt bein good for you, knowhatimean? |
| #2capitan_estabanMay 01, 2011 8:37:36 | Since the products are arguably considered potpourri, it blurs the line of whether the school system has recourse in its current code against students in possession of the products, Messina said. “We have a school policy dealing with illegal substances,” he said. “But our legal counsel is going over everything we have to make sure (the potpourri) will be covered in our policy.” So along with zero tolerance rules in schools for weapons and drugs, now we are going to add potpourri. Really? What about all those students with horrible BO. I wouldn't mind them carrying around so air freshener. |
| #3bone_nagaMay 01, 2011 9:54:30 | So people continue to talk about just how dangerous this stuff is due to added chemicals that are not in the natural version, yet we refuse to legalize the natural version. WTF people, wake up. Besides, one of those guys makes an excellent point, why are we clogging up the court system and filling overcrowded jails with people smoking weed when there's much worse stuff out there that we need to be dealing with? |
| #4The_SilverswordMay 01, 2011 19:12:06 | The thing that gets me is that they did this whole news story about the stuff, I think thats just going to get more people to try it, Id never heard of it before, so I dont know maybe it is a widespread epidemic and perhaps it needed to be addressed, and the media is supposed to be filling us in on whats going on in the world, but do they really need to tell people hey this potpourri will get you high? This reminds me of a couple of years back when they did a story on nutmeg, it was around thanksgiving time and someone put too much nutmeg in their eggnog and ended up going to the hospital so they had to do this story about how you should be carefull about how much nutmeg you use because it can act as a hulicengenic, so of course the next day the hospital was flooded with people who were freakin out on nutmeg. Oh, and my daughter the other day had an assembly at school were they talked about the dangers of taking tampons and soaking them in alchol and sticking them up their butts, its supposed to get you drunk (cant say for certain as ive never tried it) and since it went up your but you can pass a breathalyzer. Why would they tell high school kids that? Want to beat a breathalyzer? just stick gin soaked tampons up your butts! I dont think she would do that, but still, after hearing that half of them kids are probably gonna try that, ya know? Of course I just posted this on a public forum so I guess that makes me just as bad, but I think were a pretty solid group here and im not worried that one of you might read this and then decide to stick nutmeg potpourri up your butts. |

I dont think she would do that, but still, after hearing that half of them kids are probably gonna try that, ya know? At first I thought you meant soaking them in rubbing alcohol. That would just be painful. In any case, yeah, taking alcohol rectally is a quick way to get drunk. you bi-pass the liver which actually filters out a good amount of the alcohol you drink. The problem is that you get the full amount of alcohol and it take a lot less liquor to get you to alcohol poisoning. I think the show 100 ways to die had an episode with this kind of thing (or maybe it was manswers). Some guy took a bottle of Jack Daniels rectally and died on the show. Of course I just posted this on a public forum so I guess that makes me just as bad, but I think were a pretty solid group here and im not worried that one of you might read this and then decide to stick nutmeg potpourri up your butts. You are horrible person contributing to the corruption of young kids ![]() |
| #6sfdragonMay 01, 2011 23:52:57 | you can indeed get drunk off of injesting beer up your posterior..... the only thing is, that you can become dead from alcohol poisoning even faster that way. it was also on 1000 ways to die one night. potpuri? really, really? Really? you can go buy that off the shelves at the local walmarts.....hahahahahaha might as well introduce them to a dish called Rocky Mountain Oysters. |
| #7mistresszeldaMay 02, 2011 4:23:48 | Yeah, spice? Fake weed? This has been around for forever..."potpourri" is just the name of the latest BRAND of spice. It's not actual potpourri, the smelling kind. Regardless, spice is totally harmless and stupid and legal. I knew a couple people that made and sold it, who claim it is just as good as actual pot. But with the way pot laws are going right now, I don't see why anyone would bother to smoke that spice crap, unless they were in the military or a job where pot usage could get them in trouble. I'd rather smoke natural product over whatever weird imitation thing they make though, who knows what they could potentially be putting in that? Then again, I live in California, and I buy my weed from a store down the street totally legally, so maybe spice is more useful in other places. Either way, it being "Deadly" is a totally stupid argument to make. More people die every year from aspirin, for christs sake |

I think i'm in love. jk. but yeah, I've tried spice its seriously suck, but It gets the job done. |
| #9pluisjenMay 02, 2011 6:59:09 | If you want to get a legal buzz, you might as well sniff glue. I wonder how long until they ban that. |
| #10jesse.two.coinsMay 02, 2011 9:21:54 | antifreeze is better it tastes sweet |
| #11zombie_babiesMay 02, 2011 13:27:54 | What about human waste? Apparently you can ferment that to get messed up somehow. Better ban poo. |
| #12mistresszeldaMay 02, 2011 17:12:23 | Legalize all drugs IMO I don't feel like getting into the long discussion as to why for the millionth time. |
| #13bone_nagaMay 02, 2011 17:15:38 | Yeah, spice? Fake weed? This has been around for forever..."potpourri" is just the name of the latest BRAND of spice. Actually if you're in the military you can still get busted for using any of the otherwise legal variants like spice or potpourri. I'd rather smoke natural product over whatever weird imitation thing they make though, who knows what they could potentially be putting in that? Agreed. Whether or not the variants are actually dangerous, there's no reason not to legalize the natural version and be done with it. Besides, then you can tax it, because we all know our government desperately needs the money right now. |
| #14mistresszeldaMay 03, 2011 0:58:10 | In honor of this thread, I just got super baked. Ok really, I just wanted to get super baked |
| #15mistresszeldaMay 03, 2011 1:37:20 | I told them I had back pain and was anorexic. The doctor lady was very sympathetic. |
| #16The_SilverswordMay 03, 2011 6:41:59 | I didnt meant to turn this into a pot thread, haha. The point I was trying to make was that I dont think the media should run stories like that, I mean if you tell people that smoking this potpourri will get you high, then people are gonna smoke it. But any way, yeah I think all drugs should be legalized, the guvnment could tax it, an get monies, and with they way the prisons are over crowded. I mean as long as you aint hurtin nobody else, you want to stick a needle in your arm? Hey whatever floats your goat. More power to you, just as long as you aint robbin people to support your habit, knowhatimean? Especialy the Mary Jane, It shouldnt even be classified as a drug, I mean its just a plant that grows up right out of the ground, you dont have to add nothing to it, or process it or anything, just grow it and let it dry, all natural. Damn Im jonesin for one now! Haha But stupid work has stepped up pee testing, theyve already got 3 guys, so I dunno, I just might try some of this potpourri, although I dunno, Ive tried "legal alternatives" in the past, like wizard smoke, dragon smoke, dream smoke, some of this stuff, and it never did anything for me, so Im pretty skeptical about it, but theres a guy at work tellin me it really works, I dunno it sounds pretty weird smokin potpurri, that and who knows whats all in it, ya know? |
| #17jesse.two.coinsMay 03, 2011 6:49:09 | I didnt meant to turn this into a pot thread, haha. actually if you want buds you have to seperate the male and female which doesn't happen in nature, if you try to just toss seeds and let it grow as it may you'll probably just end up with llittle pretty flowers and more seeds. |
| #18zombie_babiesMay 03, 2011 8:51:40 | Yeah, doods. Weed like totally never hurt anyone ever. Wanna take a trip to Sinaloa with me? |
| #19modern_iconoclastMay 03, 2011 9:38:35 | Yeah, doods. Weed like totally never hurt anyone ever. Wanna take a trip to Sinaloa with me? An old saying, but you know that Sinaloa would not be what it is if the thing was legal. |
| #20zombie_babiesMay 03, 2011 11:53:00 | There's no way the cartels will keep fighting if the drugs are legalized. I mean, a system of open and fair competition in a legal market is what they're killing each other to get, after all. |
| #21modern_iconoclastMay 03, 2011 12:16:10 | It would change from being cartels to being something like Del Monte, Chiquita or another devil, if that is what you mean then I fully agree. |
| #22zombie_babiesMay 03, 2011 12:37:42 | Nope. They'll still be killing each other over land and control of it. Money is money, greed is greed. |
| #23EscherEnigmaMay 03, 2011 13:02:20 | True. However they won't be getting the money from us anymore. And pulling American money out of the hands of drug dealers and killers is a good thing, especially if it puts it into the pockets of legal and (more) ethical buisnesses in the US. |
| #24zombie_babiesMay 03, 2011 13:12:37 | That's quite true. And I'm actually for legalizing the stuff myself. I'm just not for the hippy notion that drug violence will stop once drugs are legal. There's a global industry built on blood behind it. That will not vanish with the wave of a pen. |
| #25EscherEnigmaMay 03, 2011 13:24:45 | Immediatly? Nah. But within a few years it will be drastically reduced and the industry will be forced to change or die. Worst case scenario is still a much happier place then the current one. |
| #26modern_iconoclastMay 03, 2011 13:32:24 | I think it would reduce violence, maybe not on a global level instantly, but on the neighborhood level. The areas around your (and my) house would probably become safer without small-quantity drug resellers. Street pushers wouldn't have much of a job anymore if the thing is available at the drug store. |
| #27zombie_babiesMay 03, 2011 13:33:25 | I think it'll take longer than a few years. In certain places, the cartels are the gov't. The kind of stuff they do to each other isn't soon to be forgotten, either. And then there's the chance that legal stuff could be priced in a way so as to allow it to be undercut (unlikely but possible). Meh, overall it's a better deal and that's what's important. It'd take time, but it would also be the first step in the right direction. |
| #28The_SilverswordMay 08, 2011 3:54:09 | Well I tried some of this stuff, its called Funky Monkey or some such, isnt doing a damn thing for me, except leaving a funny taste in my mouth. Of course it says its incense and not potpourri so maybe thats the problem. |
