So I've Been Thinking

Apr 24, 2009 8:46:50 About getting an image of myself in an awesome pose, playing a guitar (possibly on fire) tattooed on either my front or back. The image would be large so as to cover my otherwise boring (yet buff) physique.

Let's discuss this before I reach a final decision, but the thought is tempting.

EDIT: Oh, and baneofelves. It's funny you should mention Somalian pirate jokes being tasteless yet don't have any problems with South Park making them. Let it be known that I have been making those jokes more than two weeks before the latest South Park episode.

Apr 24, 2009 10:53:57 Get it on your back, generally speaking, there's less hair and nipples and things like that to get in the way of the image, not to mention that it's a (little) less likely to get distorted with age there.

I agree with this.

I won't comment on the subject of the tattoo, as that's a personal thing, but from a practical standpoint, the above is the way to go.

I have only two small tattoos at the moment, my zodiac sign on my right forearm with three small stars, and a Celtic knot on the back of my right hand, but I have many more plans to come when the funds become available. I know a chap with a chest tattoo he got when he was fifteen, he's twenty-seven now and already the image is warped. Highly recommended a back tattoo. The thigh is another good place too if you don't want it on the back.

Do we really need to know about your personal fights? Who do you think you are, Polish politicians discussing finances?

I would discourage you from portraying yourself on your own tattoo. It sounds a bit tasteless. If I were you, I'd put there the flaming guitar alone.

Among other things.
I would discourage you from portraying yourself on your own tattoo. It sounds a bit tasteless. If I were you, I'd put there the flaming guitar alone.

But the whole point of the tattoo is a picture of me on myself. There are precious few people who can get away with doing such things, and incidentally said population is made up entirely of the very same people who actually go through with it.

To the others, you make good arguments for it and I'm leaning towards that one. It would also allow me to get my nipples pierced without risking "overcrowding" my front.

I don't have TV where I am, so I can't keep up with recent episodes. So, I was unaware of the fact that they made an episode about it. I'm going to watch it, and see if they managed to pull it off in a tasteful manner.

What I mean is, I don't like it when it looks like someone is glorifying their acts. As long as South Park doesn't do that, I'll prolly laugh my ass off.

The only time I've gotten close to how high things go over his head was on a flight from from Hartford to Las Vegas.

Personally I'm saving up to add a mini-sleeve design around my zodiac on my forearm, and plans to cover the back of my hand with more Celtic designs around the knot. Along with that I have a 700 hundred dollar stone angel and tombstone design that will sleeve my left leg once it's finished. I have ideas for a few more, but I like to get those done first before moving on.
