#1 boj0 Jul 27, 2009 8:40:26	I'm having surgery on Wednesday, it is the second one I have ever had in my life. I'm not scared, just really upset that I'm doing this again for the same problem (cancer is teh suck). So if it looks like I disappeared from the tavern, I'm probably just chilling in my room playing Xbox during my recovery.

#15 ekaziel Aug 02, 2009 11:16:22	Surgery isn't pleasant. I remember going in for my first time, oh I was so terrified I was shaking and twitching. I had a hernia operation done when I was twenty three, just last year. I was in bed for about three months, and another three after of slow living. I missed out on a years worth of income and whatnot, thankfully I had some reserves in place and a disability fund from my surgery to tap into. Everything has worked out fine though, very pleased with the direction things have taken since then. While not as spooky as cancer, I wanted to share in the hopes of some small comfort. While the OP may not be terrified as it's his second surgery, I know that I'd appreciate the comfort of a small token of camaraderie. I wish you all the best my friend, and take things slow! By the by, what genre of video games do you prefer, and what'll be your favorite while you recover?

This is being much scary for me and family/friends. They are saying I was to be dead in another three months or so without treatment. I am in same league as you I am thinking for surgery and fear. I am glad to be hearing you are much well and still playing RPGs!

The fear of death is always a good motivation to get something done But yeah it's a strange place to be in life: young, optimistic, and diseased. The best advice I can ever give anyone in this kind of situation is to take life a day at a time and stay as positive as humanly possible; the last thing you need to do to is bring yourself down.
