Hello!

After some time playing D&D 3.5, I've decided to run an oriental campaign. Since OA was written under 3.0 rules, is it ok to update it to 3.5? Wouldn't it mess with game balance? I mean, should I use the 3.0 PHB ou the 3.5 PHB?

Also, I'd like some advice on character creation. Since my gaming group never played OA, should they generate ability scores with the standard point buy (25 pts) or 28 pts would be a better option?

-Most 3e and 3.5e stuff is compatible with a little bit of common sense- Wilderness Lore is Survival, Scry isn't a skill anymore, etc. I use a mixture of 3e and 3.5e books (including Oriental Adventures) with no major problems.

-As for generating characters, there's no reason to do things differently, if you don't want to. Again, I've had classes/races from OA in my games, and have had no problems with anything, in terms of balance or whatever else.

Oriental Adventures was actually updated from 3.0 to 3.5 in Dragon Magazine, April, 2004.
